I adored this second installment in the Maple Run series!
I didn't like Delaney very much in the first book Buying Love, but I loved her in this book, I could relate to Delaney in so many ways, primarily that I too often allow fear rather than trust in God to rule my life! Delaney's faith journey was so real, it touched my heart and I will definitely be rereading this story in the future, I made so many kindle highlights that I can definitely see myself turning to them on the days when I need encouragement. Yes, Toni writes amazing romances, but I think perhaps my very favorite part of her books is the faith story, which is always seamlessly woven in and always makes a powerful impact in my life!
And speaking of romance, Delaney and Luke's romance was so beautiful and amazing! And what an amazing hero Luke is, it's rare that a book hero can really make me swoon, but oh, he so did!
I loved getting reacquainted with all the characters in Maple Run that I love so much, it was awesome to see Nina and Dwight again as well Mrs. Williams (I get such a kick out of her!) and Delaney's twin boys Preston and Philip were such a hoot. I also really liked Luke's friend Micah and am really hoping we will see him in future stories!
Just when I think Toni's books can't possibly get any better, she blows me away yet again! I loved everything about Finding Love and it just might be my favorite Toni Shiloh book to date!
I highly recommend Finding Love, if you are a fan of Christian contemporary romance you need to read Toni Shiloh's books, trust me you won't be sorry!
I am eagerly anticipating Toni's next book!

Finding Love did not disappoint. This book surprised me because I really thought it would be even better than the first, but I had no idea how much! And that fact?  THAT is what delighted me.

What I liked:

First off, the characterization in this book—delightful. Delaney Jones and Luke Robinson are neither too perfect or excessively flawed. In fact, Ms. Shiloh did a fabulous job of creating people with personal demons that affect their lives but she didn’t make them overblown and obnoxious. Each character in this book is realistic and engaging—appealing in unique ways that prevent a cookie-cutter feel.

I also loved the writing. All of the issues I complained about in book one—gone. The writing balanced description and dialogue perfectly. And not once did I feel like it rushed or dragged.

What I didn’t like:

Well, I’m sure there’s something… Right? Oh, I know. Since I’m a confessed non-romantic, the mushy bits weren’t my cuppa, but come on. It’s a romance! It’s gonna be mushy. And at least there was none of that sticking your head in the freezer thing. Thank you, Ms. Shiloh!

What made me laugh:

Well, the antics of Delaney’s children. You can tell that Ms. Shiloh has boy or two of her own. She’d have to in order to write such realistic and adorable kids.

Ma Williams. I loved her in the first book and she kept me chuckling in this one, too. Odd that a character I hated at first (loved to hate, really) became one I just loved period! I'm so glad I requested a review copy. It was not a mistake. I gave the first book 4 stars, but this one was a full five-star book.

What made me cry:

Well, I'm not a crier, but if I was, I suspect I would have cried for Luke Robinson. Carrying that burden around had to be difficult—heartbreaking, even. I would have cried for Delaney and having to deal with all of it. Not to mention her family. They went through it all once. And sometimes healing requires reopening wounds to get them properly cleaned.

Then there was the maple bacon cheesecake. Now, I know many people adore that kind of thing, but I couldn’t help but wince. I tend to be an um… purist, if you will. Don’t adulterate my bacon with anything sweet. Hee hee. But, I suspect that those who adore this stuff will, if you give them half a chance, beg for the recipe.

And do I recommend Finding Love?

Absolutely. Finding Love has depth and richness that make for a great read. Perfect for lovers of romance and Southern cooking, this book is also fabulous for suckers for a great Army guy and for books including fun, realistic children. If you love faith woven through your fiction naturally, you’ll love this book.

Finding Love is an inspirational story about a guilt-ridden soldier longing to make amends and a widow struggling to move forward.

This book has genuine, likable characters whose struggles the reader can sympathize with and a compelling plot that encourages reflections on faith and emotional resilience.

I highly recommend Finding Love to readers who enjoy narratives about how love and God’s grace can transform tragedy into blessing.

Sweetest Ending EVER

This was my first Toni Shiloh, and I cannot wait to read more!!! Loved the setting, especially the Maple Pit. The characters are SO endearing, you just want there to be more! The faith aspect was so well done, too. A few things particularly hit home for me.

3.5 stars!

Solidly written contemporary romance that addresses survivor's guilt and touches on grief and depression as well.

What I loved most was that the two main characters were of different races even though the book was not specifically addressing racism as an issue. I would love to read more books like this. I have quite a few friends as well as family members who have mixed-race marriages, and I would love to see it be more mainstream in fiction as well.

Although the main characters’ romance escalated a little quickly for my personal taste, I really enjoyed this sweet romance. I always appreciate a story that features our military since my husband is a Navy veteran, and the added dimension of the couple being interracial was a welcome change from the norm in Christian Fiction. The dialogue was fresh and real and brought the characters to life.

I enjoyed the contemporary novel set in Maple Run, Virginia. After reading Buying Love, I knew that the sequel would be as inviting. The journey with Delaney and Luke opens wounds and heartache through shared experiences of the heart.

The story is about guilt, forgiveness, and moving on. Family and faith are also big parts of the story. There is romance, drama, and humor too. I liked the ending, but I had hoped they would get there a little differently.

Finding Love has so many things going for it. It features a diverse cast of characters and an interracial romance, something seen far too infrequently in Christian fiction. (This is improving with the rise of indie publishing, but I would love to see more diversity in traditional Christian publishing, as well.) It also deals with what it means to truly trust the Lord, drawing from Proverbs 3:5-6. Delaney's journey to trusting the Lord for her future following tragedy is something we all deal with at some point or another—do we truly believe that the Lord's ways are best, or do we just give him lip service while firmly holding onto the reigns of our lives? I love when books make me consider things in my own life, and that's exactly what Finding Love did for me!

I also really enjoyed the characters—they are complex and entertaining (Delaney's twins Philip and Preston especially had the entertaining part down!). The one character I couldn't quite get a handle on was Delaney's mom, but that may have more to do with the fact that she acted so differently than she acted in Buying Love—someone who hadn't read the first book probably wouldn't have questioned her character.

I did think the middle of the book progressed a little slowly, but overall I very much enjoyed my reading experience. Toni Shiloh is definitely an author to watch! 3-1/2 stars

Note: Though this is the second book in the Maple Run series, it can be read without having first read Buying Love.

I was so glad to be back in Maple Run to see Delaney's story. First, I have to tell you that if you are hungry, probably not a good idea to read this unless you have a snack. The book describes some great food that made my mouth water! And who knew you could use maple syrup with so many things?! I'm thinking maybe there should be a Maple Run cookbook (hint, hint Toni!).

In reality, each story that I read from Toni's is better than the last. Her descriptions, emotions, plot line, and attention to detail are wonderful. She is not afraid to show vulnerability in her characters, and I could see that at times in Delaney. I like to see that in my characters because it makes them feel more human to me which enables me to connect with them. Delaney had a lot to work through in this book, and I thought Ms. Shiloh captured it perfectly.

My favorite characters was Luke, but not for the reason you think. Yes, he was totally swoon worthy in my mind being a man of uniform and all, but there was so much more to him than that. He had a heart of gold. The way he tried to make amends for his "wrong doing" (by the way I say that loosely because it was really guilt that he should have given to God) was heartwarming to me. His willingness to help others is a quality I can't help but fall for. He had a lot of emotions to work through in this book as well, and once again Ms. Shiloh does not disappoint.

This is such a charming and endearing story. I hope you decide to give it a try, even if you haven't read the first book in the series! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Three years ago, Parker Jones died in military service. Luke Robinson, Parker's comrade in arms, blames himself for the death. To atone for this, Luke goes to offer two weeks of service to Parker's wife Delaney and their twins. Delaney reluctantly accepts, but the attraction she and Luke feel for each other are a definite problem.

Finding Love by Toni Shiloh is a cute Christian romance. The characters are interesting and their struggles, real. Delaney is crippled by fear. She has lost so much in her life that she holds tightly to what she has and refuses to accept anything new. Meanwhile, Luke suffers from unnecessary guilt. Even when he has done everything he can to make right what was not his fault to begin with, he has difficulty forgiving himself or accepting God's forgiveness. Watching the two characters grow in God, overcome their faults, and come to love each other deeply was an experience I will not soon forget. Some of the verses and principles the characters learned touched me, so I wrote them down to keep from forgetting the truth they proclaim.

There were plenty of other things I enjoyed about this novel. One that comes to mind is the small town setting. Finding Love successfully captured the small-town vibe. Small family businesses, nature, and a little bit of neighborly gossip... I can relate.

I recommend this sweet romance to fans of the genre.

The characters in Finding Love are diverse and layered with Delaney and Luke each bringing emotional baggage to the table. After the death of Delaney’s husband Parker, her life for all intents and purposes stopped too. So did Luke’s. Delaney, because she doesn’t know how to go on without Parker. Luke, because he feels responsible for Parker’s death. The meeting of their hearts results in a swoonworthy romance, yes, but also some soul-searching that all of us can apply to our own lives too.

This second visit to the quaint community of Maple Run is even better than the first! Mouthwatering food, a swoon-inducing hero (complete with dimples and military uniform), adorable/hilarious children, and a compelling heroine (complete with a great family and a yummy restaurant) – just one of those elements would be reason enough to love Finding Love. All of them together, plus a tender story of second chances and trusting God? Yes please!

`Finding Love` is a contemporary romance ebook by author Toni Shiloh.

Luke Robinson was attracted to a dead soldier's wife. She was a widow and a mother of twins. Parker Jones wasn't supposed to be on the helicopter that took his life. Instead, Luke Robinson was to be on the helicopter. Now he is trying to make amends to the families that lost their son's that fatal day. It was a quirk of fate that he wasn't one of the fallen soldiers. Although he blames himself for the death of his friends.

Delaney Jones lost her husband during that fatal accident. She is hesitant to fall in love again, especially to a man in uniform. She has two young twins and spends her time with them. Should she fall in love again or just tend to her twins. There are sparks in the air but Delaney is hesitant.

This novel is a page-turner. I stayed up late reading, not wanting to come to the end of the novel. I hope there will be more in Toni Shiloh's series: The Maple Run. I recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance.

My Review
This book is the second in the Maple Run series. You can easily read this book even if you have not read the first in the series but the first is a good book so if you have the time go ahead and read it and then read Finding Love. This book will not leave you disappointed. I love love love Finding Love , well actually I love the Maple Run series and look forward to hopefully more to come . Finding Love centers around Delaney who is a single mom and works in her family's restaurant. Luke is another person that this story is centered on and he is seeking after forgiveness and at a crossroads point in his life where he needs to make a decision regarding his future. Everyone in this story is very likeable and feel like people you would meet in real life. Now all of the mention of maple flavored food may leave ya wanting a snack while reading and relaxing with this book.

I found Finding Love a story of second chances, loss, acceptance, and learning what faith really looks like.
This book written by Toni Shiloh is a sweet story of deep love. Not only physical love but a love which connects two souls in such a way, they couldn't stop it.
Delaney is just trying to stay grounded and not fall to pieces after her husband's death.
Luke just wants to find forgiveness for what he feels he caused in her life. Can they both find what they're seeking? You'll just have to read it to find out.
This story had many fun parts to it too. I loved the cute children and fun relationships between Delaney and her family. The Maple Run community truly is a place I'd love to visit. The restaurant sounds fantastic. I'd love to eat many of the foods which are mentioned in this book; they made my mouth water.
There's a quote I liked in this book:
"Stop trying to see your future and trust in a God who knows the future."
This is good to apply to my life.
I truly enjoyed this story and highly recommend you pick it up and read it.

Finding Love effectively explores themes of forgiveness, God's mercy, and his plans for people's lives while covering topics of interracial relationships, military service, and widowhood. I loved the main characters, Luke and Delaney, and especially enjoyed the close relationship Delaney had with her brother. I thought the strong attraction between Luke and Delaney showed up a little too early in the story, but the characters are both in their late 30s, so perhaps at that stage in life, you're more equipped to know when that special someone shows up. The dialogue was natural, and I enjoyed the descriptions Ms. Shiloh used such as "his insides felt more twisted up than tangled fishing line." The scenes when Luke interacts with Delaney's sons made me laugh, and I teared up at the moving scene with the three of them near the end. There were a couple of plot twists that were "Oh, wow" moments, and I was anxious to see how they would be resolved. The discussions about spiritual concepts were well-written, serving to encourage and exhort at the same time they pushed the characters' development forward. A highly enjoyable story.

Luke is a strong character who knows what he wants. Once he makes up his mind, he pursues his mission with single-minded focus.

Delaney is a bit more hesitant—especially when it comes to giving her heart to another soldier. And she’s got her boys to consider as well.

While he’s determined to make amends, she’s insistent on not repeating her past. These two people must weather trials before they’ll quit looking behind them.

Finding Love is grounded in real-life struggles and touches on valid fears and questions about life. A bit predictable, but full of heart and hope. A story that invites readers to small-town Virginia to sit and stay a spell.

But be warned, you may find yourself looking for something with a little maple flavoring in it.

This book was even better than Buying Love (book 1 in this series) and I already highly enjoyed that book to start with! Delaney (which is such a pretty name) and Luke have such great chemistry. I loved it and totally could believe they were falling in love. Luke was a total sweetheart and Delaney was such a strong woman, raising two twin boys after the death of her husband.

The book starts off with Luke showing up in Maple Run to plead for Delaney's forgiveness for the part he feels he played in her husband's death. Both are instantly attracted to each other, but they try to fight it. Luke feels like he couldn't possibly move in on the widow of a solider he fought alongside. Delaney struggles with the fact that Luke is in the Army and she's already received one folded flag. Does love, and trusting in God, conquer all?

I was so excited to read a book featuring an interracial couple and how their families were so supportive since sadly that isn't always something you see. In my mind, the way I pictured Luke and Delaney were so cute together! Also, the underlying theme of trusting in God when things seem terrifyingly impossible really hit me in the heart and convicted me of the need to do the same in my own life.

I enjoyed that we got to see Nina and Dwight again and that we were introduced to the male lead for book #3, which I'm starting once I submit this review.

I really enjoyed this book. I found Delaney to be authentic and I warmed to her much more quickly than many heroines.

Luke is a man for any woman to swoon over. I love the family dynamic and the problems that kept lining up to keep these two apart. Despite reading dozens of romance novels, I didn't see the last two twists.

Excited to go back to the Maple Pit again.

"Finding Love" (A Maple Run Novel -- Book 2) by Toni Shiloh

In this second novel in the Maple Run series, Delaney gets an unexpected visitor who turns her world inside out.

It has been several years since Delaney Jones got the visit no military wife ever wants: the one telling her that her husband Parker was killed in the line of duty. She swore off dating and falling in love after that. But when Luke Robinson comes along, she also swears off any form of a relationship, except maybe friendship, from a man who is still in the army. Even if he is devilishly handsome and helps her family out when they are in a bind and his Texan accent and manners get her kind of giddy. Nope, never, ever...

Except he is devilishly handsome and has helped her family out in a bind and he is easy to talk to and has impeccable manners...and everyone really likes him, including her mama (which is HUGE if you remember what Nina had to go through in book 1, "Buying Love"). So, ok. One date to test the dating waters, with a friend who is leaving in a couple of weeks...

Oh but he is leaving in a couple of weeks...remember his job Delaney she keeps reminding herself. Except her heart is not really listening to her mind and she is still struggling to handle her life over to God.

Meanwhile Luke is struggling with his own issues. He knew her husband, feels partly responsible for his death, is really smitten with Delaney...but she was Jones' wife...but she is now a widow...but she hates my job, although Luke is not sure if he will reenlist for the his last to years until retirement. But it is financial security if he does. Money isn't everything his dad keeps reminding him. He isn't sure what he would do if he doesn't reenlist. And he has been talking to God about this issue and about Delaney a lot lately. Guidance, direction... anything. He knows God has a plan...he just wish he knew it.

And let's not forget The adorable twins full of energy and questions. Though quite different from one another, they both are seeking a father figure...and really are quite fond of Luke and make that known.

Delaney has thinking to do and has to work on giving herself fully to God, Luke had his own questions and decisions to make, and the twins have their own thoughts and have even turned to God. So where will this lead everyone? Find out in "Finding Love," you won't be disappointed.

A lighthearted, fun, and truly enjoyable read. "Finding Love," is not only better than her first novel, but it examines some real issues those that serve in the military face everyday, as do their families. It is a tribute to friendship, family, second chances, God's guidance, love and the men and women who serve in the armed services.

Finding Love is Toni Shiloh’s second book in her Maple Run series, following Buying Love. Ms. Shiloh has written another great book which I am delighted to have had a chance to read.

Delaney and Luke are wonderful and fully realized characters. I loved Delaney’s perfectly understandable reluctance to get involved with another military man after the death of her first husband on a deployment. She’s raising twin sons mostly on her own (she does have family to help) and the children were believable, which is not always the case with fictional children, who are often written as too young or too old.

Luke was great. He is steady, and I appreciated the fact he was a recovering alcoholic, as alcohol is a very common way for soldiers to try to cope with their problems. He has a nice relationship with his grandmother and his father.

Both characters are already Christians when the book starts, though they’re not perfect. They struggle with trusting God and giving their lives over to Him, but in my opinion, it’s not a “preachy” book. Readers who appreciate Christianity presented in a straightforward and simple manner will enjoy this aspect.

Setting was great, secondary characters were great, though I wanted more of Luke’s family as we got a lot of Delaney’s since they all live in Maple Run and it felt a little unbalanced. This is a great book and I hope there are more in this series!

Though it is the second book in a series, Finding Love works perfectly well as a standalone and so if you haven’t read the first book in the series, don’t be afraid to pick this one up! I recommend reading the first one, Buying Love, simply because it’s a great book that I enjoyed and previously reviewed at http://www.christinascotton.com/what-....

I give this book 4/5 stars and recommend it to readers who enjoy contemporary Christian Romance.

"Finding Love" by Toni Shiloh is the second book in the "The Maple Run Series " and I am going to say at the start "I hope there are more books coming in this series".

If you have read "Buying Love" or even if you haven't, you will enjoy "Finding Love" because you get to meet or visit with the same characters plus meet Luke and Micah.

"Finding Love"is definitely what this book is about!

This story is a story of forgiving yourself ( which Luke Robinson learns ) and trust which I think is something that all the characters ( but especially Delaney Jones) learn.

This book has something that most readers would like, good food and a motorcycle and children. This story deals with tragedies of war and widowhood and an interracial relationship.

I really liked that this story is an interracial story because I feel we are God's children and He loves us equally.

While reading this story I felt both Luke's pain and Delaney's fear. I think the reason I liked this story so well was because like Luke, readers, including myself have a lot of forgiveness that need to be given to ourselves for things that have happened that we could have controlled and for things that we blame ourselves for that isn't in our control. I think if we are honest, most of us also have some areas of fear and it is hard to put them in God's hands.

In closing. I say you need to get a copy of "Finding Love" and meet these folks from The Maple pit and while you are there you can learn different ways of cooking with maple syrup. I think I would like to have the recipe for the meatloaf.'

"Finding Love " is definitely 5 stars.

I was given a complimentary copy of "Finding Love" by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.

Another sweet-but-not-too-sweet story from Toni Shiloh. This sequel to Buying Love continues the story of the family who founded the Maple Pit restaurant. Finding Love share the story of the young widowed mother, Delaney and the unlikely way that love is rekindled in her lonely but leery heart.

Well-written with clever foreshadowing and believable yet diverse characters. Shiloh has matured in her writing and this story will work its way into your heart.

This comfortable read also provides some thought-provoking moments such as the notion of “taking someone else’s fate.” While this is a somewhat romantic and mildly honorable notion it does not ring true when you think of it in the light of faith in God’s mighty providence.

I really enjoyed this tale of unexpected love and unconditional forgiveness. Another five stars for thriving author, Toni Shiloh!

One of my favorite quotes:
“No, that’s truth, Delaney.” Her mother stood, placing her hands on her hips. “I wouldn’t be a good parent if I didn’t point out your flaws. And baby girl, you have a major one going on right now. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, Delaney Jane. Stop trying to see your future and trust in a God who knows the future.”
