What an excellent read. Wonderful characters and exciting earthquakes add to this great book Well recommended If you like time travel to the past earthquakes and very good characters and story you don't want to miss this book!
Tori was a pity full heroine. Sebastian was awesome. The crazy twist at the end was good but delivered poorly like in a summary. I didn’t care for the 1811 reference to Colorado. I could have handled Rocky Mountain country but not Colorado. The romance was under played like it was a minor subplot. Overall I'm being generous with a 3 star review.
Earth Shattering by Cathy Peper Blue Crystal Time Travel Series Book One Victoria “Tori” Foster is having a bad day. A very bad day that turns into two bad days. After she's almost run off the road...she lands in the river. When she's rescued...things are not the same. Not at all.
Sebastien La Roche makes his living on the river. When they find a body...that is actually a still alive woman...his life changes. Oh, he tries to leave her behind in the town where she'd been found nearby, but he gives in and takes her on the Fury with him. She's different from anyone he's ever met.
The author did a great job of showing the differences in the time era. Of what it would be like for one of us...with our electricity, cellphones, and all the modern conveniences...to suddenly not have any of that. A torch or candle is needed for light, no light switch. No fast food restaurants. No modern conveniences. Looking forward to the next book in this series; Time Rebound. **Sexual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
A really good opening for what seemed to be an interesting series. Lots of loose details, and it does leave you wondering what comes next, but not a true cliffhanger, but very close. I wish the one side had been wrapped up a bit better, but will wait for the next book to really decide!
The time space location was a nNice change from Scottish time travel the characters had interesting personalities I would recommend this book I would like to see more of Sebastian and not sure I want to read more about Bryce
I enjoy time travel novels and I’m not real good about reading books details could be better about the Mississippi era
The characters, handsome Sebastian and independent Tori, made the story fun to read and easily relatable. The author is new to me but I do plan to read another of her tales soon. It's all about a "magic" necklace . There's a great twist to the story at the end. I absolutely recommend and hope you enjoy.
A good fun historical plot set back in 1811, where a 21st century young woman suddenly finds herself because of time travel. Except for a brief passage of harlequin sensuality, the story is believable and the characters convincing. Worth the read with unexpected plot surprises.
Tori fell into a world long gone. She made good use of her times and found love with a river boat captain.. The time period was hard, but the people never knew the difference in their time. She did her best to carry on. It was a good read. Going right on to the next book.
Well written and engaging story! Likeable characters and great plot. I realized the other day that I am drawn to time travel stories that take you back in time - and this one serves that desire up nicely! I am off now to BOOK 2!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I can, in all good conscience, recommend reading it. The story was great, the characters colorful and the time travel believable, see for yourself!
Thank you Cathy for a very delightful story. Your research of the time era was a big factor to the story. I loved the adventure and the characters. I look forward to reading the next book.
This book had me right from the beginning, well written and awesome to read! It leaves you wishing you had all the little side stories, each one of the people she meets stories! Can't wait for the next book!
I was going to read the entire book, but half way through I had to give up, it read like a 5th grader wrote it, badly, all over the place and the sentences of people speaking were hardly of feeling or intellect, I'm pretty sure I lost some intelligence readin it.
The main character goes back in time to America in the early 1800s. The story centers around the Mississippi River region. Well developed characters and an interesting storyline contribute to an enjoyable read.
I'm not overly happy with the ending and hope it isn't what is in-store for book 2. The rest of the book was good, low medium heat, and worth the read.
This is a good time travel adventure story. Tori (Victoria) Foster is a professional violinist who earns her income by giving lessons to students. In a single day in December, she loses her job and her apartment and has nowhere to go.
She is scheduled to give a performance in another location and goes early to her friend Anne's house. Following the performance, as she is walking back to Anne's house, she is followed by a car and while trying to escape, she falls into the Mississippi River.
When she awakens, she is on a boat in December 1811. There are some major historical events during that time, and the author skillfully makes them part of the story in heart-pounding detail.
Cathy Peper 's "Earth Shattering: A Blue Crystal Time Travel Romance" is a must read if you enjoy romance with a twist. Ms. Peper does an excellent job of incorporating the historical earthquakes of the Madrid fault and the culture shock of someone from the 21st century instantly transported into 1811 to experience them.
Time travel from present day to 1811 Missouri, like Tori, who is an accomplished violinist and gets thrown back in time after getting fired from her job and then evicted by her room mate.
Time travel which is always interesting when the contrast is done masterfully. I liked the historical aspect although the beginning is a bit slow and the main character naive.
