Rate this book
A sexy new series for adults who loved A Game Of Thrones, Hunger Games and Divergent...

My name is Anna Greely and I am a human girl living in a dystopian world controlled by the WereDragons.

A world where humanity has been destroyed by technology and the dragons have all the power.

Now, Prince Eli has become the latest dragon to take the throne as king and he has already made his first request.

Me.

I have no idea what a handsome dragon king would want with a shy orphan girl but when a dragon makes a demand you have no choice.

You have to submit to him and do whatever he says...

DNF @80 % I tried again and I couldn't do it. All well.

Started off good a little but become instalove to the max. Also I liked Anna in the beginning but she got on my nerves towards the middle because just because she's shy doesn't mean she have to be clueless on whats going on around her in the world. I didn't Eli at all cause in one chapter he's whining about not wanting to be king to his father but two chapters later after he met her, all he wants is to be king and would actually fight his father for it. Yeah Very annoying character. The only person I truly like is Anna's best friend. Also the world building on this wasn't good at all. It was never explained why you have some folks that can transform into dragons while others can not. The diversity is non existent for a story set in dystopian America where people go back to simpler times without electricity..... The whole backstory dealing with Anna's parents could have been prevented if the king wasn't so hardheaded. The romance between Anna and Eli was not even there since the author decided to do a two month time jump without showing none of interaction during those two months and all of sudden they are madly in love with each other. In all honestly, it was just an excuse to have a sex scene in the story which wasn't even believable because of that jump....

A note to authors ( mini rant coming)

Unless you establish your main couple realtionship with having them interacting by doing activities, seeing them learn about the other and seeing them fall in love BEFORE you do a time jump, it's going to feel like instalove instead slowburn cause you didn't show shit. You can't just expect us to believe that they are love now after it's been a couple weeks or months they been together when the last time we saw them they barely was getting along with each other. It's jarring to your readers that have to fill in huge blanks that you as a writer should do if you want your readers to believe that these two people are falling in love.

I read this book overnight. I was so tired but I couldn't stop turning the pages.

The beginning took me off guard. I didn't realize that was going to happen. ultimately, it was the start of what was to come; lies and deception ... and love.

I always enjoy a good paranormal. This book was well written. well developed characters.

Dual POV but mainly in Anna

Why not 5 stars? In the middle and towards the end, everything seemed somewhat rushed. Especially the growth of Anna and Eli relationship. Once captured or saved, it started off as lots of good bantering and dismissal. Then it felt like overnight, Anna loved him and had unprotected sex? They never really talked about that issue. Whether it mattered or not...

Don't let that matter keep you from reading. I just figured if this is going to be a trilogy, a little more push and pull with bantering would have added more to their relationship.... who doesn't like a challenge?
And why did the story line have to get so serious so fast?

I can't wait to start the next book.

This was an excellent story and one which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Festival is where Anna sells her dresses, ensuring she has enough money to get through Winter. When the Mayor of her village levies a 15% tax, Anna only has one option left; she has to sell one of the five dresses left to her by her mother and this is not something she really wants to do. The dragons protect the village, but unbeknown to them the Mayor has kept a strong grip on the people, purely for his own benefit, and they do not realise the lies he is telling them. As a result, the villagers live in fear of the dragons, making sacrifices every 5-years. The King forbids his son, Prince Eli, to attend Festival, but Eli is headstrong and ignores his pleas. Eli and Anna meet and destiny is borne; because Anna is Eli’s one true mate. When Anna’s father saved Eli’s mother, it sealed their fate and fulfilled a prophecy that no one thought would come true. Fate chose Anna because she is exactly what the world needs, but will Anna fulfil her destiny when there are many that do not wish to serve a human Queen. A really good story that has a few twists and turns to make it an intriguing read. This is Book 1 of 2, so I am looking forward to seeing how the story develops further; I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this book and if the second one is as good, it will not disappoint. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Good Story

It was a good story. Some parts were very predictable. There are several typos throughout the book, but you can easily overlook them or fill in the correct word when needed. Overall not a bad book, I just feel that it storyline was rushed. It's not an overly long book but there are still large gap of time that are just slipped and then briefly referenced as to what took place during that time. I wish the author took more time to really develop the story and let you get to know the characters. Also there are questions that are completely left unanswered, I have an idea about a couple things but you are left wondering on some areas that really seem minor to the overall story that could have been clarified.

First Capture and Then Love

This book forms the foundation that determines the first part of the story and introduces us to Anna and Eli. Eli is the dragon king and he has known that Anna, a human, is destined to be the new dragon queen. He loves her so much and she comes to Love him as well. For three months he trains her in hand to hand combat so she can protect her self in case he isn't close by. Times are dangerous and it is time to go to the castle to marry and Anna t o

I enjoyed this book. It has an interesting premise about there being a war between humans and dragons and now they live apart but the dragons agree to protect the human community. Anna is a human trying her best to survive alone after losing both her parents. Her meeting with Prince Eli of the dragons changes everything. She discovers secrets that change her life. There is a lot of action and plenty of surprises that keep the story interesting.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Totally enthralling
This book has so many facets, to include romance, mystery, deceptions, love and so much more. It’s a love story that takes place between a human and a Dragon shifter prince. A town leader who appears to have the people’s needs in mind but in reality is self-centered and corrupt.
Well written and extremely entertaining to read.

It could have been better

I was a bit disappointed with this book. It could have been much longer. There are a lot of plot wholes and the explanations that should have been met but weren't.

Interesting story

I found this book to lack some real logic. The beginning of the plot does not gel with the end. The story has too many twists & turns. The relationships change drastically for no reason. I also feel it was too long, trying to get to a point that never came.
