Beth forever fanning the flames of tension and dissension has the Stryvers, the Progerians and the entire Human race on the brink of annihilation. It is up to Michael Talbot, BT, Drababan and the United Earth Marine Corps to stave off this extinction event, along with General Ginson aboard the outgunned, out manned and the nearly crippled USS Guardian. Is it too late or can it all still be saved?
Michael, BT and Dee are a brilliant team and this book reinforces that fact. Great continuation of the series, the aliens really need to know when they're beaten.
I started on Zombie Fallout. I got to the point of fan stalking Mark Tufo and asking for book 10. 😬 I know no shame.
I had picked up Indian Hill a while ago -- I couldn't really get into it. I don't recall why.
Anyway after ZF 10 came and went I was stuck. I had just badgered Mark for that book and read it in a day. I couldn't very well turn around and do it again! I mean I could but I had gotten lucky with the release date being within the month of my harassing him. It was after all, life or death.
Anyhow I picked up Indian Hill again. Pretty sure I bitch about Beth in like IH 4 review!
Once I got midway through IH 1 I was done. I downloaded the rest of the books. Just like with Zombie Fallout I was quickly addicted!
I've read a plethora of books and book series. I can not honestly think of one that gets me like these books do. I've laughed hysterically (out loud), yelled at characters (in this case mostly Beth and Paul), read passages out loud to my husband like "oh okay we're not the only ones!" Totally relate to so much!
I don't want to drone on and on; but these books just keep getting better and better. I downloaded this book yesterday. It's like 3 in the morning... I couldn't put it down. I loved the twist at the end ... no spoiler from me. But didn't expect that at all... baby D! It all makes sense now! I can't wait for the next book! That's the crappy thing about getting involved in open series! The waiting!
Keep 'em coming Mark! Little quicker would be nice. Just saying... not saying.
One of my favorite scifi stories, from one of my favorite actors. (an audiobook review)
Let's talk narraction. It was great. This installment hit all the same marks for me. Great clear, crisp audio, with multiple convincing voices. Well done.
As far as the story, I really enjoyed the mixture of space battles in space and within ships. Great stuff and very gripping. Some serious loss in this tale. I have to admit, it hit me hard but that just showed how attached to the overall story. Great ending but I struggled with it a bit. Its not bad, just seemed a bit too loose. Hard to explain without giving away any spoilers.
Last thing. Make sure you listen to the entire recording. Mark leaves a very nice backstory to Indian hill at the end of this. I really liked that. A very nice story that explains the real life beginnings to this series.
If you've never heard or read this series before, please do. Its beyond amazing and good stuff. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Indian Hill was the first book of this author's that I ever read. Now I'm hooked on the series. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, nope don't want that mix. Just give me the good clean sci-fi with aliens and space battles. I love the way he brings his characters to life, and to be honest I've read some of his other series. However once he introduced vampires into his zombie series I quickly lost interest. Nor did I find his werewolf books to be of interest, even though they are well written. So here is hoping that he doesn't mix in vampires, werewolves, or zombies into this excellent series as I'd probably stop reading. This series though I highly recommend. We shall see what the next book brings.
I'll just never get enough of the (mis)adventures of Mike Talbot. It had been a while since I last read book 5 of Indian Hill, but everything came right back to me as the story began. Here, in this alternate Talbotverse, B.T. and Tracy take their place as the saner side of Mike's craziness, along with the genogarian warrior champion D. There couldn't be a funnier cast of characters to exist any realm or multiverse than you'll find in Tufo's.
As Stewie so rightly elaborated, this novel has its great little plot... little friends become enemies/enemies become friends... and the main character endures some hardship, becoming richer for the experience. But it also has the typical hilarity we all expect from Mark, as well as butt-clinching action and suspense.
I dont even know where to start...this was just incredible..much more than I was hoping for...it was pure brilliance and perfection....Mark has out done himself this time...and I loved it...This series is so good...if you have any doubts...get over it...just one click the whole series now and thank me later...I can not wait till the next book in this series...I need it ASAP!! lol
HIGHLY RECOMMEND...STANDING OVATION..I NEED MORE!! LOL
Another Indian Hill novel follows the same blueprint as others in the past, Mike forms and unlikely alliance, does some crazy stuff and barely gets out by the skin of his teeth. Rinse and repeat. The ending left something to be desired as it leaves you on a cliffhanger but the addition of information related to D’s history at the end was nice. I’m sure I’ll be moving on in the series just to find out where Mike ends up next.
Caught between the Progerians and the Stryvers it looks like it might be the end of humanity....unless Talbot can pull another rabbit out of his hat! Fast moving and action packed...you won't want to put this book down till you get to the end!
If you are looking for adventure with plenty of humor Mark Tufo is your guy. Out of all the Indian Hill books, this one was the first to have laughing one minute and nearly crying the next. There is always humor in books but he took the emotions to a new level on this one. I, for one, can't wait for more!
Been a huge fan of Mark Tufo, ever since I stumbled across ZF, so after reading the reviews I decided to read the Indian Hill books. Like the ZF series, Indian hill has made me laugh and cry within the same chapter. Can't wait for more Indian Hill and ZF😁
What a great story. Tufo never ceases to amaze. This Sci-Fi series is one of the best. His aliens, the technology, the warfare continue to peak and then Sky Rocket into the next realm. A fascinating story beyond the imagination. The depth of the main characters take on a life of their own, becoming a reality, like old friends. You cheer them on, worry, love, laugh & cry with them. Excellent.
This author has come a long way since the beginning. I've noticed he's been writing in third person more which I really like. His characters are becoming more personal , has twist interns and I do not expect and always has the constant theme of hope no matter the circumstances . The characters are witty and personable. A great read!
The nightmare fuel that us the strivers doesnt even begin to paint the picture of everything that is great about this story progression. We continue following our favorite characters and newish ally B.T. as they continue to fight for a world that is filling up, fast and envied more and more. Mike's growth is truly a joy and a laugh to experience.
Hello, I really like Tufo's writing style and enjoy reading his material. Indian Hill is good, but is not my favorite of his tripped out adventures. B.T. and old Drab are the best parts. Good stuff. Thanks.
The book is awesome, it is rank highly amount the talbot universe. It is supposed to be the end of Indian hill series, but Mark Tufo left enough room to make you wonder is it really the end. The only thing bad about the book is I have finished and have to wait for the next Tufo book
Another fabulous book by mark Tufo! He has humour and a great story plot. I advise to read all his books especially the zombie ones same characters different events. Twists and turns- from bad to worse- fate adventure death it has everything! Brilliant
I liked this one overall, especially D's story. In the end, though, this one did drag for me a bit in certain spots, and the whole Beth thing is just too weird and takes away from the story. I will finish the last book though because I really want to know what happens!
As always, Mr Tufo nails it again! Regardless of the genre or characters, his storytelling never fails to entertain. Highly recommend all his books....over and over.
