A graveyard late at night wouldn’t seem like the ideal place to meet someone. But for teenager Katey McCoy, that encounter with the handsome stranger with the striking blue eyes would alter her life in ways she’d never imagined.
Orphaned as an infant, bounced around foster homes, labeled as a discipline problem, and now under the thumb of an abusive foster mother, Katey’s been slipping deeper into depression. Who would want a girl with such an ugly face, an imperfect body, or wild hair? But Logan Keith knows the truth about Katey: she’s beautiful. Her flaws are in her head. Besides, he has issues, too. And a secret that could tear apart their growing relationship.
Logan is a werewolf—a loup-garou—with his own troubled past and a flaw that’s considered a handicap in his world. A secret, supernatural world he soon introduces Katey to. Although Logan longs to make Katey part of his pack, it may be impossible for them to be together. In his pack’s history, there’s never been a female werewolf. No woman has been able to survive the transformation. Will Logan’s desire give Katey the escape to a better life and the love she’s always dreamed of, or will he be signing her death warrant?
Sheritta Bitikofer writes paranormal romance with a particular fondness for wolf shifters and witches. Her stories are driven by one guiding belief: love inspires courage. Through fierce romances, unbreakable pack bonds, and the magic of covens and family, her characters fight for the lives—and loves—they deserve. Sheritta lives in northwest Florida, where she drinks far too much coffee and joyfully balances life as a wife and mother while crafting her next heartfelt paranormal love story.

This is the first book in the series and when I started reading it I was blown away . This is a twist on the werewolf lore and the author takes us on such a journey . Let me introduce you to Katey and Logan. They meet one night in the graveyard and they become friend and so much more . Will they survive each other and will she survive the change. When I started reading this story I was very intrigued . The twist on the werewolf story had me hooked from the first page . The characters are well written and developed . You really felt like wrapping her up and hugging her tight . She is a tough girl but so lonely and you can see her blossom when she meets Logan and the rest of the pack. The guys are teachers in her school and Logan becomes a student . Logan is tall and brooding . There are moments where you want to strangle him cause he is such a male . But he is there for Katey when she really needs him . The book kept me on the edge of my seat as I read . I really felt for Katey and Logan . They get under your skin . There were a couple of places where it kind of dragged but over all the book took off and you will be transported to a world where werewolves are real. If you like shifter books check this one out
I love shifters and this was a nice touch on shifters. Some of the experience is unique to this author and has a very nice spin on it. It is wonderful how the author finds a way to get you invested in all that is happening. The characters are great and so is the plot. I like where she takes us and the little twist she throws in to keep you on your toes. I even have a special softness for Katey. For all that is thrown at her one hit right after the other, man she is a trooper.
This author brings a unique perspective to her stories so there is no been there read that. The stories/books are enjoyable with strong characters and plots and just a tease of heat. Great read.
This kind of reminds me of twilight. Only because of the school and paranormal aspect and the fact the heroine has no idea what is going on within it. I liked her and how the author portrayed her. In a sense this was a dark book because of the mental issues she goes through. The only thing for me is there was to much dialogue and lead one without the action. I thought it could have been trimmed a little. However I still kept wandering and I hated that I wanted to be more involved in the story. I'm hopeful about the next book.
I liked the premise of the book and the characters for the most part. However, the back and forth between Katey's feelings gave me whiplash. One moment she's scared of him and the next she's fawning over him. And then at the end, he was a bit rude to her and she gave in. Logan seems like a nice kid for the most part but man does he have some anger issues. It needs to be edited some more and a few of the details were contradicting. At some points, it seems like it escalates a bit too quickly, especially when it concerns Katey's foster-mother. It's a good story, it just needs to be retweaked.
This is the first time I have read any of this author’s work, and it is a totally different genre from my norm. When a troubled girl meets a man in a graveyard, she then starts to see him daily at school. This is a unique story with a great plot, and is well written and flows seamlessly. Throw in a twist and the reader is kept on their toes throughout. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
The Enigma (Loup-Garou Series Book 1) by Sheritta Bitikofer is a very good read. This is a very entertaining and interesting book. Great storyline and characters. Loved Katie and Logan, their story, chemistry and beautiful emotional connection. I highly recommend this wonderful shifter romance and look forward to the next book in this series. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
I have to be honest, the blurb pulled me into wanting to read this, it seemed really interesting to me, and it honestly was. My problem with it though was that it seemed really long-winded to me. I always like to finish a story though and I did. I'll also be reading the next one, because I'm curious about where it goes next. Again not a bad story, just not quite there for me personally.
I love this story. If only... With a deep understanding of the struggle school can be. I can only imagine how much harder it must be for a person with no one. Only teachers and peers reaching out. None truly knowing the depth of separation one feels. Unable to bridge the gap and tell someone. In just the right moment someone impossibly appears. Hope shines through and makes this existence bearable. Perfect introduction to new series. Very excited to start the next book!
By far one of the best and most engaging stories that I have ever read. The way the author draws you in and holds you aptive from beginning to end was fantasic. I just couldn't make myself put this book down! You have to read it for yourself to fully understand love for The Enigma. I can't wait to find out how the story continues on in book 2. I very highly recommend this book.
I'm on the fence about this book. It reminded me a lot of Twlight and it moved a little slow for me. I would've like a more fast-paced story. I couldn't really connect with the characters for some reason. I don't know how both the main characters acted at times were odd and frustrating to say the least. I guess it's hard to describe. I voluntarily reviewed an arc from the author.
This is book 1 in a new series. This is the authors take on werewolves and werewolf lore. This is the story of Logan and Katey who meet one night and are instantly attached. Some parts of the book are a bit slow but it is a good story with twists and turns even though Logan did make me mad sometimes
Very interesting take on werewolves. I was constantly wondering where the story was going to go and couldn't put it down. At some times I felt it dragged a bit but the author needed to set the scene so I understood what she was doing. I think I was just impatient. I will definitely get the next one in the series to see how it progresses.
this was a awesome book you wrote! its about a young trouble woman who meets a young man in a graveyard. she meets him again in school. only there is something going on with his and the teachers eyes. read this amazing story!
Not a bad read, i did feel that it could have been shortened a little. I would like to read the next book as i would like to know where the author goes with this story. Im not sure that there was really any spark between the main characters but i think this can be redeemed.
Really liked this take on the Loup-Garou. Kathy and Logan’s storyline is an excellent start to what I hope is a long series , where all the guys get their story. Well written, characters are multifaceted, each with their own unique style, related to how long they’ve been alive. 5✨’s
Werewolves and lycanthropes aren't usually my thing, but this one spoke to me and I found myself entranced with every page. It was charming and a interesting spin on long established mythological creatures. When I first started reading I thought it would be another Twilight spin-off, but as I got deeper into the plot line it clearly diverged and became its own unique story. There were a few issues with pacing and some unnecessary fluff, but nothing major. If you do decide to read it, commit to finish and I promise you won't be disappointed. I absolutely plan on reading the next book in the series and enjoying that as well:)
Full of heart, lore, and loups-garous. I really enjoyed this book, connecting with the characters' struggles and achievements, while learning things I never thought to ask about shape shifters. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This is the first book I read by Sheritta Bitikofer.I must say i loved her writing style. A young girl meets a young boy in a graveyard. They mert again at school but their is something different about him.
