In a world where magic is long but a thing of the distant past, where humans have the potential of harnessing a dormant power within them, called Battle Force…
A man from modern day Earth finds himself suddenly waking up in the body of Norton Lorist, a youth of noble descent that had been exiled from his homeland in the North by his family to Morante City, the capital of the Forde Trade Union on the pretext of pursuing his studies.
Little did he know what would await him when he receives summons from his family years later to return to the Northlands and inherit the position of the family head…
This is the tale of his life before the summons…
This is the tale of his journey northward and the allies he gathers along the way…
This is the tale of his rebuilding his family’s dominion and keeping it safe from other power hungry nobles…
The exiled son of a lord coming back to become the head of the family, got lots of kingdom building, political intrigue, strategy both in terms of business & wars.
The review is for all the 590 chapters published and then the book was dropped. I thought the book to be completed only to find that it was left in middle with the author moving on to another project, this is really pissing off and I have deducted a star in my rating cause of that.
The book is set in a medieval world, the way of warfare is melee, with blade masters and sword saints being the powerhouses, the world is enveloped in a power struggle. Our protagonist is a reincarnated guy from a modern world, this is his journey using ideas from the future to rise from a Baron’s exiled son to being a Duke to being the foremost authority in the world.
The book is a fun read, does get repetitive by the time it ends, would give it a 3 star normally if not for it being incomplete.
The first 50 or so chapters were one of the worst intros to a story I've read, but I could feel that there was an interesting story if I speed through what is essentially flashbacks and really slow exposition about the world.
When they start showing off the world rather than telling, it really takes off and it's one of the more interesting worlds I've read.
Sadly the author thought it would be a good idea to put in obvious allusions to Chinese history, So obviously the novel was never finished thanks to the censorship of the Chinese government.
It's a 2.5 out of me because of these problems, had it been finished and continued in the same style I'd probably have given it a 4.
