Rusty’s Chronicles visualizes life through an innocent viewpoint allowing a pure clarity of experiences and growth. The beauty of nature enhances the incredible journey to allow us to see, touch and feel each adventure. The humor of lessons learned through different experiences that Rusty encounters acknowledges a realism or believable association with the characters. Life through the eyes of a young puppy empowers us to be a part of the journey, to feel the hot breath of the coyote on our neck, hearing our heart pounding surrendering to the power within to survive conquering our fears. Rusty’s Chronicles incorporates a positive outlook to believe that whatever happens in life there is hope. The journey is enriching, humorous, and above all heartfelt, as paw prints make an undeniable mark.
This journey through the first year of one tiny four legged fur-friend is delightfully entrancing. To begin with I felt that the storyline often changed from past tense to current tense a bit, but as the story evolved this became less prominent. While this story is not always very realistic, it has a charm to it unlike any other. It depicts lovely interactions with a wide variety of animals, both wild and domesticated and a truly breathtaking discovery of Mother Nature in all her glory. I particularly enjoyed the insightful footnotes at the end of each chapter and while it did take me a while to really feel the pull of this story, by the end of it I was quite hooked.
I’m a fan of the novel A Dog’s Purpose and any story told through the eyes of a puppy warms my heart. Rusty’s Chronicles reminds me of A Dog’s Purpose in a lot of ways. The book revolves around a precious labradoodle named Rusty. The story chronicles Rusty’s first year of life as he goes on adventures with his parents, plays with his toys, discovers nature, learns about the holidays, and makes new friends. My favorite moments in the story are the friendship with him and another dog name Fellar. The story will have you laughing and also crying as Rusty experiences different adventures in life.
There is something wonderful about dog stories. Especially those about pups. In Rusty we experience curiosity, adventure and learning about puppyhood. I laughed and shed tears while reading this. I give RUSTYS CHRONICLES 5 DOGGIE SNAX OR CHEW TOYS and kudos to Ms. Loren for a wonderful tale.
