Elusive Love Is an enjoyable and somewhat silly, melodrama.

Susannah Parker has always dreamt of a handsome sea prince, floating out of the water and offering her his hand.
Unfortunately, Mr. Sea-King has ruined men for Savannah. Hoping to find her handsome dream man in florida, she follows her best friend Marielou for a trip during spring break.

Michael West meets Phillip Van Buren while fixing his car. Phillip explains to Michael how he is a stockbroker and encourages him to study business and finance.
(Spoiler: Michael is her sea-king)

Will fate bring them together?
Well yes, but it takes awhile... And by a awhile I mean 439 pages. That's two pages from the end.
Susannah is a bit of a dim bulb and Michael is a pretty uninteresting piece of cardboard. They had their moments and I rooted for them, but towards the end I just wanted them to hurry up and get together. It wasn't perfect, but I have to say that at times this book was really earnest and an honest story.
As sappy as it was, I could tell Mrs Lanigan put a lot of heart into this and really believed in what she was writing.

If you enjoy soap opera/family dramas you will probably enjoy this. Just don't expect any great literature or anything.
