Rachel Blaufeld

A recent poll of her readers described Rachel Blaufeld as insightful, generous, articulate, and spunky. Originally a clinical social worker, Rachel creates broken yet redeeming characters. She’s been known to turn up the angst like cranking up the heat in the dead of winter. A devout coffee drinker and doughnut eater, Rachel spends way too many hours in local coffee shops, downing the aforementioned goodies while she plots her ideas.

As a side note, Blaufeld, also a long-time blogger and an advocate of woman-run anything, is fearless about sharing her opinion. She captured the ears of stay-at-home and working moms on her blog, BacknGrooveMom, chronicling her adventures in parenting tweens and running a business, often at the same time. To her, work/life/family balance is an urban legend, but she does her best. Rachel has also blogged for The Huffington Post and Modern Mom. Most recently, her insights can be found in USA TODAY Happy Ever After Blog, where she shares conversations at “In Bed with a Romance Author.”

Rachel lives around the corner from her childhood home in Pennsylvania with her family and two beagles. When she isn’t writing, she can be found courtside, tweeting about hoops as her son plays, or walking around the house wearing earplugs while her other son, the drummer, bangs away.

Rachel Blaufeld returns to the Electric Tunnel universe with the third book in the series; Tinged. This is the darkest and grittiest story I have read by this author, but if you take into account the subject matter it was always going to be a challenging story.

I haven’t read the previous two books in this series, and although I think it may have benefitted me in giving a deeper understanding to a lot of the secondary characters in this book, I don’t think my reading enjoyment was impaired from not having read them first, so if you are concerned about this don’t be as Tinged can absolutely be read as a standalone.

I was chasing a hooker-one that I believed I was hopelessly in love with…

Its hard to write a review for this one without giving too much of the plot away, I am not sure if the beginning of this couples relationship was covered in the previous books, I suspect so a Lynx and Mike’s background information implies that to me, but the quote above adequately gives you the reasons for this book. Lynx’s sudden disappearance from Mike’s life, and his attempts to find her.

"You’re not tinged… Not then, not now, not ever."

As you would expect the world of prostitution, pimps and strip clubs is not the stuff of fairytales and the author has definitely not portrayed it that way. Mike; although the big burly, crass and forthright strip club owner, has a certain vulnerability behind that brittle outer shell, and although operating on what some of us would class the seedier side of life, really went out of his way to take care of the underdog. As I said there isn’t a massive amount I can say about the story without giving things away, but I am sure you can come up with a few ideas yourself as to what could potentially happen to a beautiful young woman, who sells her body for money, but then disappears without a trace.

I’d put her back together, stitch her up inside and out, and love her until she was whole.

The story is told from both POV’s so you experience what Lynx is going through, as well as Mike’s emotional turmoil whilst trying to find out where she went. The second part of the story is the rebuilding of that relationship after everything has happened, and again it’s a bit gritty, and a little dark in places, but as with most treasures, you need to clean away the dust, dirt and grime to find the precious material beneath it.

"Loved you since we first me and plan to love you forever, messy or not."

I won’t lie this is a story that took me out of my comfort zone, given the option between a story of this type and something a little more… let’s say fluffier I would generally go for the fluff. But this is Rachel Blaufeld, everything I have read by this author turns into an emotional as much as enjoyable reading experience, and Tinged was not different, although it feels a bit wrong calling Mike and Lynx’s story enjoyable, as I was more on tenterhooks through a lot of it, than sitting there with a smile on my face. As with all of her books, the story pulls you in, leaves you a little bit breathless, and keeps you in its grasp until the end, it was certainly an experience reading this couples fight to get their happily ever after.

"It’s time to look forward."

Sexy, electrifying, and undeniably palpable! Rachel Blaufeld has been synonymous to sizzling romance and in her newest release, she will tinged your hearts with the many shades of passion, intrigue, and second chances.

photo 8f1f4d6d30ecb1e381794460e8baf2_zps4oxaplhj.gif You’re not tinged, babe. Not then, not now, not ever. I love you. And you don’t need the ocean water to cleanse you. Whatever crap you’re spewing is just that—BS. You’re perfect. ”

Tinged is what I considered to be more of the sexier and unfiltered side of Rachel Blaufeld as she takes readers down a raw emotional journey where two hearts collide in a striking and visceral manner. Mike and Lynx are unlike any characters that you have met. They are not what we consider the norm when it comes to fairy tale romance because of their profession but I applaud Blaufeld for taking readers like myself out of their comfort zones. Instead of the picture perfect love story, Blaufeld allows us to see through the eyes of Mike and Lynx of what led them to where they are and how their bond was a blazing inferno of light, hope, and dreams. Nothing is ever broken as Mike showed Lynx his unyielding love for her. It may be messy and flawed but it is most definitely raw, unfiltered, and true.

#Tinged1

This is one of those reviews where you have to be a little vague since the best part of the story is surrendering yourself to their past, present and how everything came full circle. There is not just one color when it comes to love and second chances but many shades that will tinged and stain your heart. Burst of raw emotions and passion will radiate through the pages and so I highly recommend you to get lost in their journey as two hearts reunites and collide in an unmistakably fashion as Lynx returns back into Mike’s life.

photo 8f1f4d6d30ecb1e381794460e8baf2_zps4oxaplhj.gif This was her life. It was a good one, a beautiful one, and a special one. A brightly colored one.”

While Tinged may be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you to read the previous two books since the secondary characters play an integral part to the story line. As far as the writing, Rachel captured the very essence of a darker, gritty, and more vulnerable aspect of love and life. So if you are looking for a story where it’s okay to have a messy and imperfect love then I highly recommend you to read this book.

I needed more of Big Mike.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I absolutely luvd this. I wanted this book so long ago but finally I ve got it and I luvd it. Big Mike/Michael as been a great character since the first book in the series Electrified. I was dying to know more about the big guy he is such a caring man and would do anything for his Tunnel family. They are a great bunch of people and have been through a lot but Mike was still goin through his hell. Mike as been in luv with Lynz for forever she grabbed his heart when the first met. But things didnt go the way he thought they would. He was now on a mission to get that plan back into place.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lynz is a great girl. Things haven't been easy for her growing up but she tried to make the most of it. She had great friends around her and things were goin ok. When she met Mike things got better he was caring loving and protective everything she needed but she also had plans but like Mike they didn't work the way she had planned either. But there is one thing that they both have in common once they let each other in there was no one that could replace them no matter how hard they tried to forget.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Like I said I was dying for this book. It was great to see a different side to Mike he is this big guy who protects al the woman around him but seeing him in this book u do get to see him at a more vulnerable state which I found mad he's not meant to be like this but it showed how much he lived this woman and what lengths he would go to. Lynz I also enjoyed her character she had to go through so much and my heart broken for but after finding out stuff I was a lil angry with her for keeping those secrets even though I know that she had to try and do what she needed to do on her own.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I would highly recommend this book. I would read the first 2 books of this series it would help getting good to know the characters a lil better. Plus there brilliant books u won't be disappointed. I ve read al this authors books and i ve never not luvd one. Her writing is so good they story sucks u in from 5 he very start. See the characters from the other books again was great I really like them. I luv how close they are there bond is so tight and they will do anything for each other. I luvd everything about this it was just brilliant.

Tinged is the third and final book on The Electric Tunnel Series. It can, however, be read as a standalone.

If you are familiar with the series, you know what we have here- Strip clubs and strippers. But we also have wonderful characters who you fall in love with.

Here we have the story of Mike and Lynx. Their story is not easy or pretty at times but it’s one you won’t forget. Rachel’s writing is always so beautiful and so raw. I love how she’s not afraid to touch different subjects and nothing is off limits to her. Mike and Lynx are both two beautiful souls meant to be together. Mike had me swooning with his love for Lynx and his determination to do what he had to do to be with her. Lynx is strong and beautiful and puts others before herself. Their chemistry, passion and love for each other will have you swooning.

Tinged is raw, gritty, emotional and romantic. You will love it all- the plot, the writing, the characters, and the descriptions and settings. Tinged is a must read!

Spoiler alert, while I love Rachel Blaufeld-seriously, she's one of the authors that I vow to meet some day, I have not read the other books in this series. Can this be read as a stand alone, yes. Should it be? Maybe...maybe not. You loose some of the past you get to know in the previous installments, but, Mike and Lynx's story was enough to sustain my attention without me getting lost in the who this or who that issue.

So, this is a second chance romance. Mike and Lynx knew each other when....but have not been together for some time. Life has moved on, however, Mike has never forgotten nor stopped loving Lynx. Perhaps his life would be better if he could? Their relationship is messy, it's raw, t's gritty. I am not going to lie, the tension and angst in this story hurt to read sometimes, because it wasn't perfect. But that's what makes it good...the fact that it's not PERFECT!

Obviously, I am going to tell you to read this. One click it, give it a chance. The emotional roller coaster that you are about to go on is so worth the ride.

Forbidden romance, gritty storyline, a damaged heroine, and an unwavering hero who will melt your heart. This book has all that and more. Tinged is the third book in the Electric Tunnel Las Vegas series, but it’s a complete stand-alone and I think it’s my favorite of them all. Although I said that after reading each one. Big Mike has a heart of gold and he’s just what Lynx needs even though she resists him. On the surface, the differences between these two are many, but deep down they’re the same and watching them come to that realization is both heart-wrenching and breathtaking. Without giving too much away, Michael and Lynx have a tough road to travel, with ups and downs, drama and intrigue and plenty of heat too. We also get to hear from characters we met in the first two books and check in with them. Carson! This is a book I didn’t want to end! I love this series and hope there’s more to come.

I feel like I start these the same way every time, but every time, Blaufeld amazes me! I don't know how she does it! She's returned to finish the series from her debut novel, Electrified, and she managed to answer every question, remind the reader of everything they needed to know, and go beyond with her amazing epilogues, making it a fantastic read! Lynx and Mike are probably more damaged than you would ever really hope people are...but Blaufeld still made them likeable and you were rooting for them to figure themselves out so they could figure out their relationship. True love endures and as always, I was sad for the book to end.

It has been a long time since I read a book that broke me and made me laugh out loud.
I freakin Loved Lynx and Big Mike. This book was great. While there was a story line that was absolutely crazy it kept me interested and made me want more. Then there were times I was crying uncontrollably but others I was laughing out loud. Great Book and a Must Read Series. Rachel Blaufeld has me hooked so I will definitely be reading more from her.

Sorry for this book to end.

I always feel sad when the story ends, like my friends are going away. It was great reading about Mike & Lynx, while catching up with the whole gang. They had a very unique story, that needed to be told. I was glad I had the chance to read this book. I recommend you read it too.

Michael has it all but the one thing he craves his Lynx. Lynx ran to find herself and reveal the secrets of her past, she is broken. Can they mend each other and become who they are meant to be?
This book is gritty, dark and perfect. their love isn't easy, but it is true and pure. That is what Rachel gives us a story that is filled with hard truths and even harder loves. She will break your heart while mending your soul.
Michael and Lynx are perfect for each other, and reading their journey to realize that perfection is simply put thrilling.

5 "A happy color." Stars

Rachel Blaufeld continues her Electric Tunnel with the much anticipated story of Big Mike and his one and only, Lynx. This contemporary romance book could potentially be read as a stand alone but I don't recommend you missing out on the first two books as other characters have cameo's in Mike's story.

What I love most about Blaufeld's stories is that she's not scared of differences between two people no matter what those differences may be. She portrays love and honesty with such beauty and admiration. Her stories don't see color or age or any form of degradation within the confines of love and romanticism. Her writing reflects that of respect and fairness and an innate goodness that we can all reach for both in our friendships and our romantic lives.

Blaufeld's consistently elegant and honest story telling shines in this installment. The Electric Tunnel franchise is moving forward, a theme laced throughout this story. Moving on and moving up and moving past those demons which haunt you with the help of friends and lovers. Mike and Lynx have a path no one wants to follow. It's not easy story yet somehow Mike's steady, unwavering confidence makes it so for Lynx, who's troubles seem to be always lurking. She's a woman trying to best those aforementioned demons alone. She's charismatic, loyal, and it's easy to see the chemistry between her and Mike. You feel it deeply even as the threads of their lives start unraveling .... again.

Catching up with this crew reminded me of how much I loved this series that introduced me to Blaufeld's writing. With a current of intrigue humming within the pages and the unexpected places Blaufeld doesn't fear going with her writing you'll find yourself entranced by Mike and Lynx. If you haven't read the previous book Mike and Lynx friends will make you want to. Another shining example of the great romance Blaufeld gifts us.

This contemporary romance book could be read as a stand alone (which I did) but I would recommend reading the first & second book in the Electronic Tunnel Series before you read Mike's story. That way you know who the secondary characters are and how they pertain to the storyline.

Mike and Lynx came from two different backgrounds. Their differences put barriers and obstacles against them. Their love was strong enough to break them all!

Lynx fought hard against Mike's love. She didn't feel she was worthy of it. Lynx was compassionate and put others before herself. This made her struggle with how Mike felt about her.

Mike's love for Lynx never faltered. He bowed to never give up on her and hoped she would someday be his. Mike fought hard to win to break the ice around her heart.

Will they love forever? What does Mike have to do for Lynx to see that he loves her? You must #onclick and find out!

I have wanted Mike's story since I read the very first book! I was slower to come to this series as I discovered this author with Verite and not her earlier books. But boy am I glad I read the first two in this series too! They are everything I love in a book. Sexy, steamy, plot, suspense. Mike and Lynx's story kept me interested from the very first page. I would never have guessed the turn this book would take. Do yourself a favor and grab the first couple books in this series now and grab Tinged when it comes out next week!!

Rachel Blaufeld takes us back to where it all started with this third installment from The Electric Tunnel series. Tinged is a gritty and captivating roller coaster ride. Lynx and Mike's story is equal parts brutally beautiful and intensely raw. What Blaufeld does best is give us characters that are flawed, the best kind of flawed-- they are real and honest. This is implemented in Blaufeld's superb writing as the story flows seamlessly from scene to scene.

Tinged is full of passion and hope. It is a timeless story of the best kind of wonderful romance. A must read! If you haven't experienced The Electric Tunnel series please do yourself a favor and get reading now. You will not be disappointed.

Tinged was an okay read. I think the when it comes to reading a series like this all of the stories seem to be a bit repetitive and it gets a bit boring. That's exactly how I was with this story because I found it slow and yes, a bit boring. Mike spent half of the story looking for Lynx when I was yelling at him to forget her and just be with Marta. I hated the decisions Lynx was making and didn't agree with her at all because it just caused more drama. I have to be honest, this story was my least favorite out of the three. books. The ending was sweet but I needed a lot more from this story.

Rachel! You have done it again. I have been waiting for Lynx and Big Mikes story for sometime now, and it was worth the wait. Thank you for always keeping it real. The good, bad, and the ugly part of love, is what makes it that much better! This book gave us all of that! Damn I want more! I have been hooked since the tunnel and loved how you made everything just came together in this. You rocked it lady!

Tinged is the story of the one who got away. But this isn't exactly your momma's romance. Tinged is the exact description of this story. Love is not enough at the start. By the time you finish, it will be everything.

I'm not sure if the author plans to continue the series, but there are plenty of other smiling couples I would love to see.

Raw, gritty and totally captivating "unputdownable" story!
I had not read the prior books in this series and let me say I had no trouble at all following, understanding and enjoying this read. I will however read the other 2 books to gain more insight about the characters.
The story of Lynx and Mike was complicated, intense and emotional. Their characters were gritty, brutally realistic and beautifully broken.
Can't say much without giving away spoilers.
With that said, this book was fantastically written, and it was a real treat to read from beginning to end.

I really enjoyed this book. I’m not sure if I’ve read any of Rachel’s other books, but I definitely will in the future. It’s well written and had me sucked in from the first page. It had mystery, suspense and romance all rolled into one. Now I need to read the rest of the books in this series.
