Dear Victoria Quinn, I will never ever read a book by you again!!!! Never will I give a cent for a book by you I'm so mad right now
at you. This book is not save the hero is cheating and loved it with ow then he goes home to fuck his "girlfriend" !!!! His thoughts : when/if Rome ( girlfriend) finds out? ! Then it's over he's ok with it cause she can't satisfy him she's just not enough.Wow a real romantic this ugly ass.Dear friends do not waste your money and time at this awful bullshit!!!!! I'm so pissed ....oh and of course the heroine endet up begging him to take her back she forgives him everything he did ....I swear I want to throw up right now. Here just a good advice from her male friend ( suck this up dear GR friends ):" I think you really can't live without Calloway, you should give him what he wants.Because he's gonna find some other woman to do it in a heartbeat." And that's exactly what he did and after he dumped her he was looking for ow. He was OVER HER !!!! Then she came begging
I want to cry. Sorry I just can't stop ranting here. After they separated they went to a gala together and they talked. Heroine asked Hero if he was with OW since they separated only 3 weeks ago.He told her yes just the night before he had a threesome but he did not fucked them cause he still is not over her ...poor guy asshole but did other sexual things with them.Lucky girl isn't she ??
Just as he's is over her and ready to fuck an other sub The heroine jumps in between and saves him from his misery. Its she gives him what he wants or he's fucking ow so she became the biggest doormat of all fucking doormats and he's glad she never asked him about ow he wanted to screw cause it's making him angry. You know like liars, thieves and cheaters when they get caught they get angry throwing all back at the victims. This whole 4 and 5 star ratings? Don't believe them!!!!! But you know what? I just rewrote my own story here: Heroine didn't give in and submit to the prick she moves on with another hot shot and gives this other guy what the wannabe H wanted and throws it in his face.Ok Ana time to move on

Good ending to the series!

I really liked Cal. If only men really loved women like that. Though this book was shorter than I would have liked, it does contain a free book along with it that I was planning to read as well so that is a plus.

“All I wanted was for you to know that you’re the most important woman in my life. If you need something, you walk in there. I don’t give a shit what I’m doing or who I’m speaking to. You’re my priority, and you always come first. Sorry if that’s so offensive, but I fucking love you, and that’s how I goddamn show it.”

Just no!

Spoliers...

This book omg where to even start...
First of all cal is a jackass
The first thing that killed it for me was the fact that he gave the same ring his sub wore to rome wtf.. Not cool
Second a dom doesn't need to repeat to his self 1000 times that he's a done
And the fact he went behind her back and started using Isabella again big far fu**ing NO it is still cheating then turns around and messed with 2 other girls oh but he didn't touch them so its okay
I have never in my life felt about a book the way i feel about this one and that's not a good thing this book made me sick
She was clealy going for the mastet male role here well you truly fell short if that was the case he would have care more that the crazy bitch was the cause of the woman he loves so much to be kidnapped and raped oh no he just lets her off the hook... It was a mistake really?????
I can't even
Then all through the books he says he doesn't notice other women but everytime another one pops up he always comments on her look that's NOTICING!!!!!
okay rant over I feel a little better now
Now im going to delete this from my reading devices and pretend I never read this 50 shades knock off
I hate to do this and I hate to bash someones work but really its just so bad!

I don't even know where to start with this series, it got so many mixed reviews but I decided to dive in and see for myself. I am so glad I did, now don't get me wrong it was ups and downs, some difficult times, however its fictional and I love reading drama. It started in book 1 when the sassy Rome was defending her friend, determined to tell the asshole guy that had a wife how much of a piece of trash he was by cheating on his wife with her friend. However, mistaken idenity Rome slaps the wrong guy 3 times. Little did Rome know the guy she slapped was a Dom. Calloway entertained Rome to see how far she would go, he was bored and Rome was just the spicyness he needed as his new sub. You love Rome how strong and sassy she was. Always taking up for the underdog. Rome knew what it meant to not have anything and survive. Rome and her adopted brother Christopher ran away from their adopted home and lived homeless and because of that her morales were unmoveable.

Calloway a dark and broody alpha male, use to getting everything he wanted, great looks and wealthy. He was abusived by his father, however you still see kindness from him. He took care of his brother Jackson which Jackson believed that their father favored Calloway because he left his entire inhertitance to Calloway. Calloway sheltered Jackson he didn't want him to know of the abuse he was receiving. Calloway also took care of his mother which had lost her memory because of the abuse she received from her husband. Calloway also inherited the exclusive BDSM club from his father which him & Jackson runs. However when Calloway met Rome in the bar that night he decide he wanted all that fire beneath him. Calloway wanted to break her he wanted to turn a vanilla person into his sub. Little did Calloway know she would be the girl to break him.

Calloway gave up his Dominate ways to be with the only person that made him feel everything. How long will that last before the beast is ready to come out and play. How many of us know when you try and change for a person it never last...The real you always come back and what are you willing to give up once the beast is released.

"The second the whip was placed in my hand, I snapped. I couldn't turn away. I needed this. The man I fought for so long has returned, more feral than before. Will Rome still love me? Or will she leave?"

Black forever
Betrayed...
Lied to...
Misled...
I am so upset right now
I am 50% done with this book and at book 4
I have never been so tempted to give up! There is NO loyalty here! I hate that he betrayed her, wheather he technically did or not. And I feel betrayed. I bought into the beautiful, loyal man/Dom that wouldn't even entertain deceiving a sub that he didn't care about from book 1. So I thought, yes, he would be honorable. What went wrong? And she begs him to take her back as he's hitting on another woman! Seriously??!! My stomach just hurts!!!

I just finished the book, and I am completely disappointed. If you read my blog, you know I hate giving bad reviews. I rarely do it. But I feel horrible. It seems that when you go back and read carefully, Caloway never actually cheated on Rome, but he lied to her and engaged in erotic BDSM play with other women. It reminded me a smidge of Christian and the psycho sub that he bathed, except that was once and there was no deception. And he didn't blame Anna for it. Ugh!!! I'm sorry to do this, but I didn't like this book for that reason,
And had I know, I wouldn't have read the series.

I'm reading those one-star ratings and laughing.my.ass.off. at butthurt comments of people who expected... what? You don't read this kind of literature if you expect characters to act like saints. You read it specifically because you want to relate to instinctive, primal nature that's inside all of us. Otherwise, you choose Jane Austin or Bronte sisters. Or one of those generic books with rosy-ish covers with guy in taxedo, woman in pelerine, little cats all around them, kissing in flower garden with butterflies flying around.

You most certainly don't live through THREE sequels of BDSM to complain about frustration finally finding some vent in the fourth, through compensatory act that you define like cheating through some self indulgent, over entitled, stretched twice around equatorial line, arbitrary definition. How is it cheating if it's the only option. To be called a cheater you need to have, you know, some fvckin - CHOICE, pardon my French? And if the Call's nature and needs are a problem in the first place, what did you effin read about through first three books? If they're not a problem, how do you propose he should have solve the conflict of not having the vent? By running circles around Rome through 3 more books?

The most hilarious comment was from somebody who said there should have been a warning that there is cheating in this book. Nothing makes me sick these days like level of politic correctness and hypocrisy some people aspire to. You read something that might classify as dark romance, and you expect to be warned about cheating. In FOURTH sequel. Right. Go cheat yourself. You might stick with Dr. Doolitle books from now on. Which are great btw. Strong recommendation.

I don't want to hide my review because I'm so mad I want everyone to know it, but there will be spoilers.

Well... I can't say I loved how this ended, despite it being a HEA.

First I will say, once I got into this story, it really held my interest, and with each book I had a harder and harder time putting it down. I think there was a lot of growth with these characters and I love a story that can do that. Unfortunately I didn't love this one once I finished it. In fact the epilogue ticked me off so much I ended the story on a bad note.

Ok, I need to gripe a little.

The inconsistencies. UGH.

So first off, Christian, was only Christian in the first book. In the rest of the series, he was Christopher. And really? Christian is such a cooler name. I would have liked it better if he started out as Christopher and the author messed up and changed his name to Christian in the second book.

Another one that got to me was when Rome first meets Jackson, she is at dinner with Christopher and Calloway. Jackson actually joins them for dinner, Christopher leaves, but there is no way they didn't see each other. Later on in the story, Jackson wants his good friend to join Ruin. So he brings him in and its Christopher. That is how Rome finds out about Calloway's other lifestyle. Because Jackson's good friend Christopher wants to join Ruin. Then further in the series Jackson and Christopher meet as if its the first time... like the whole thing at Ruin never happened. What. The. HECK?!! Is this author schizophrenic?

Okay, now Jackson. Jackson was the character that the author needed him to be at any given time, whether it made sense or not. At first he was unsupportive of Rome and Calloway. He pushed for Cal to take Isabella as his sub again. But when Calloway would be having doubts, he would encourage him to be with Rome because he loved her. But then he manipulates his brother into multiple situations using work as an excuse to push him and Isabella together. Then later he asks his brother what he's going to do about the Rome/Isabella thing as if he had nothing to do with pushing his brother to take Isabella as his sub again. It made no sense. He seemed very wishy washy when it came to Rome. I never knew where he stood.

Alright but my biggest problem, and what actually made me not like this story so much anymore might be because my expectations going into this book were not fulfilled. I requested, in a reading group a book where the H is into the Dom/sub lifestyle, but the h is absolutely flat out NOT having it, it doesn't work for her. I wanted something where the h doesn't cave to the lifestyle, she walks. This series was suggested multiple times. And it started out that way. Rome was pretty steadfastly against the Dom/sub thing. And with good reason. She has been abused multiple times by men in her past. She is not comfortable submitting control. Calloway tries his best to distance himself from it. He really does try, and I had to agree to a point, that Rome would never even listen or give him a chance, to try it. I felt like for the point to be driven home that it wouldn't work of her, she needed to at least try a couple of times. She tried once.

But then in the third book when Calloway finally caves and starts his sub relationship back up with Isabella, I kind of liked it because it finally pulled some emotion from me. And I anticipated the drama that would unfold. I hate cheating, and to me this was definitely cheating. But it was probably the safest kind of cheating there is. Since there was absolutely no touching. Honestly I just love the grovel... except I was SORELY disappointed in this department. Also, I expected it to be a one time thing and then he would be overcome with guilt. That didn't happen either. It went on for months and even AFTER she found out, he never really felt guilty about it.

Which brings me to my next point. He never felt guilty, and in a sense blamed her for it. And not only him, everyone sort of acted like it was an inevitable conclusion and that Rome was to blame for it. (This could be because Rome only had guys perspectives, her girlfriend, who was only in the series that very first scene when she met Calloway disappears once she is no longer needed.) Rome wouldn't submit and give Calloway what he needed, so what did she expect? He was going to get it from somewhere. This makes me so mad. He told her he would be faithful to her and that was the whole point of the stupid rings. And in the Dom/sub world, nobody is even supposed to LOOK at you if you are wearing that ring. But suddenly it's justified that he is wearing a ring and still using a sub outside of his committed relationship. That just made the ring insignificant, and in my eyes tainted.

And on that note, I'm just gonna roll right into my next gripe. The freaking rings. If it were me, and once I realized that the ring I was wearing was also the ring that his former SUB wore, the very one that he essentially cheated on me with, I wouldn't want it. I especially wouldn't want it as my wedding ring! Who wants wedding rings that are recycled from a former relationship? He wore that ring to signify his monogamous relationship with another woman! (He also did the same with Rome and then broke the promise while wearing the stupid ring.) And the other woman wore the ring that you are now wearing! Oh heck no. That does not work for me. In fact it infuriated me. I found this to be so disrespectful. Especially after everything that happened with Isabella.

Now my last gripe... Isabella. I kept wondering at the end what happened to her, and if I just missed it in the chapters before. So when she is brought up in the epilogue, that Christopher is interested in her. I felt like that was a hint at a possible relationship or spinoff series with the two of them. You've got to be freaking kidding me. I think something like that would ruin my relationship with my brother, if he found it okay to start seeing the woman my husband not only used to be in a relationship with, but she was obsessed with him, constantly throwing herself at him to the point he finally took the bait, and then she was instrumental in my kidnapping! But to top it off, the last thing I wanted to hear was Calloway say anything nice about her. Say she is a sweet girl. No. Just no. And then he tries to use his Dominance to make her be happy after the conversation. Piss off!

Ugh. This is why I try to stay away from stories like this. I can't stand the whole submissive thing. I'm way too stubborn. If the story is about a girl who is actually okay with the lifestyle and likes it from the beginning that is different. But a girl who fights it and then submits, drives me nuts. Because once she starts fighting it I'm on board to hold out to the end. And again, this is also why I was so disappointed with this story, because I went into it, under the impression that the h would not be able to live this lifestyle. I wanted that story. Instead I got the big ole submission at the end just like all the other stories out there. Just like all the other stories, the female is the one who has to make the changes for the man. That ticks me off.

I loved this series so much!!

Victoria Quinn entered the list of my favorite authors for sure. I was surprised to see this was her first series and writing experience.
This series is awesome,it has a Fifty Shades and Crossfire flavor, which make it impossible not to love.

This is a dark romance with a mix of vanilla and bdsm, beautiful love story, a strong and sassy heroine, an amazing alpha hero, a lot of suspense and hot sex.
I loved everything about it...the story, the characters, the writing. I couldn't put it down.
I'm a bit sad that it ended now, because I love Rome and Calloway so much.

I highly recommend this series!

Calloway and Rome get their HEA. There was angst in that Calloway did start seeing subs again since Rome’s past interferes with her being able
To Try that part of Cals life. He didn’t have sex with the subs though. So ItWasn’t cheating like some
Of The other reviews stated. Overall this guy is madly in love with the h. Eventually they work
It out and live hea.

As most readers who have read book two of this trilogy could attest to, is that they somehow had the portent to predict that Calloway was going to fall spectacularly out of grace and evolve fully into the beast that he was before meeting the heroine and which was continuously hinted by him even while basking in love's full bloom.

He fully embraces the darkness and the thrill he gets from beating women until their skin is flushed with beaded blood brought to the surface by a Mr Hyde & Jekyll character. So while the heroine is busy battling her own demons and seemingly secure in the love of a strong man,she is blinded to his weakness for his former sub Isabella.

According to his concept of infidelity it is not cheating to have women bring themselves to orgasm by their own hands if he does not touch them all the while beating them like a man possessed. After each session with the same sub that spans months he is than in the mood to rush home to slate his lust on the heroine whom he loves.

Of Course to his mindset and that of every male in the book which includes his brother together with the heroine's brother,it is Rome who is at fault for being too stubborn to indulge in the euphoria that a belt or a whip brings. And this is the reason why he is free to hide & revel in the bliss he basks in after he savagely whips his sub to ecstasy,a woman that derides and insults the heroine the entire trilogy. He constantly moans he feels nothing for Isabella even while WILLINGLY succumbing to her enticements because she is the perfect painslut unlike the heroine.

Calloway is an enigma and when asked by the heroine why he loves hurting women,he answers simply without guilt or remorse that his need stems from watching his father do it.I was expecting some terrible abuse and yet he tenderly worships his mother who suffers from alzheimer's.

To some extent I could understand his cravings and his inability to resist his addiction of administering pain even when he justifies that he no longer finds the women he beats sexually arousing and that it is just the control aspect that makes him feel like a true dom and yet I have a question in mind, why did he not beat on men, being a true sadist would mean he could feed off the pain of any a sub regardless of their gender. The author circumvents the cheating by continuously emphasizing the no touch rule and his lack of sexual desire,so if pain was his nirvana again why not whip a man instead of nude women.

Despite me not being 100% involved in some parts of the book I still found the it enthralling enough to put aside any misgivings and to shell out 4 bleeding stars.

Depeche Mode:

"There'll be days
When I'll stray
I may appear to be
Constantly out of reach
I give in to sin
Because I like to practice what I preach

Strangelove
Strange highs and strange lows
Strangelove
That's how my love goes
Strangelove
Will you give it to me?"

Was happy to finish up this series. I found this book to incredibly redundant, like the author had run out of plot line and needed to fill with the same sex scene over and over. It stops being hot and gets to be mind numbing. This book needs a competent editor to proofread it, as there are too many typos and errors for a $7 book. It was obviously rushed to publication, which is unfortunate.

This was recommended to me by a friend and I really enjoyed it. BDSM isn't usually my thing but I loved how it was done in this book. They were honest and open with each other, discussed limits and what did and didn't work for them and most importantly compromised. Solid 4 stars

I hate the start of this book, it angers me all over again that the author took this story in this direction, I start to skim the pages because I can't stand how Cal is now talking after he was able to whip a woman to the point of marking her so red and bringing her to the point where she was sobbing in order to feel powerful, he didn't even get horny from it but he says "I couldn't combat the joy that coursed through my veins. I felt more alive than I had in nearly a year." So the past year with Rome was so terrible, he never felt free, but in the past 3 books that is not what I read. I cannot stand Calloway, Jackson, or Isabella. Then to make things worse how he treats Rome when he gets home is disgusting. I am thrilled that Cal is miserable and all of this was for what, he isn't even with another sub, and he says without Rome he will never feel alive again, but earlier in the book he only felt alive when he was whipping a woman, which is it? Thankfully around chapter 12 the story takes a better turn and things are handled in a better way. For the rest of the story until one part at the end it was great, packed full of drama, suspense, great sex both in and out of the playroom, but then the author could not help herself and had to make me go back to not understanding or liking Cal when he actually defends Isabella, and tells Christopher that she is a good girl and he "should go for it" I was furious, why ruin all of the good that finally happened over the past 13 chapters. Yes this book did end in a happy ever after but I think I am done reading any books from this author, I did not like how this series progressed so I am done. Gave 3 stars because of the things that happened from chapter 12 until the epilogue, if not for this it would have gotten 2 stars.

4.5 out of 5 Stars

Calloway cannot deny himself anymore. He is a sadist at his core and has a deep-seated need for the high of the belt. Of course, he knows Rome will not be pleased that he has rationalized his situation to the point he really thinks keeping a sub is OK as long as they do not touch. Regardless, he seeks Isabella so she can fulfill this need without Rome knowing. He will live to regret this.

This conclusion to our story is action packed (as well as sex packed). I loved it even though there are a couple of items I reacted to. There a couple of storyline errors that are negligent, but I would be remiss not to mention that once again our couple's on again off again romance gets a little old by now. I did become impatient with the plotline when once again our couple breaks up and they go through the same emotions they went through in books #1 and #2. All in all, do not misunderstand me. This is a great series and this conclusion does it honor.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I actually bought my copy of it because I had to know what happened to our couple in the end.

descriptionSuch a great ending for a great series.I must admit i didn't like Calloway in the beginning of this book no matter how much he says it's not cheating ,in my book it is.I don't tolerate cheating and i DNF too many books for that but in this case at least don't have physical connection ,i know i sound hypocrite but when you will read it it will make sense because the situation here is different but i m glad that finally he and Rome are together and absolutely loved the epilogue.Overall great series with BDSM theme,Calloway is such a great alpha hero,he is dominant, possessive ,strong,Rome is great heroine too,i liked her in first 2 books,in the 3 book she annoyed me a little ,i was a little torn because i loved her strength and independence but in the same time, she didn't want to bend a little and make sacrifice like Calloway did for their relationship to work. All in all if you want BDSM series with great H and h and god writing this book is for you.

I have loved every book in this series. Cal is a dark, sexy beast with romantic undertones.

“I don’t know how to deal with these feelings I have for you. Ever since you walked into my life, it’s a been chaos. When you were a virgin, I was patient with you. I’m a virgin too, but in a different way. Please be patient with me.”

Isabella seeks revenge.

Rome has decisions to make ..... can she let Cal walk away or can she compromise?

Christopher is her sounding board.

“I’m sorry, Rome. I know you don’t want to hear this, but it’s true. I suggest you reconsider your beliefs. Because when it comes down to it, you’re going to have to choose between Calloway and what you stand for. So make sure your beliefs are really strong enough to sacrifice the love of your life. Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen.”

I would rather cry a million times with Calloway than smile with another man.
