Clash of the Covens - a review by Rosemary Kenny
Calla earns her mistresses' trust by teaching her self-defence and how to use her innate magic to conjure fire as well as block her unguarded thoughts from the enemy, in Book 3 of the Vampire Prophecies series, by the amazing Martha Woods, Thriller Queen of the Night.
Another vital revelation that comes about, occurs when Kristian and Tessa decide to rally the vampires to lead the Fairhaven Witches into battle against the evil Calders, who want Tessa's blood and body for use in their evil spells and potions! One of the new arrivals at the compound is Nolan, who stole the affections of Jared's wife ,[centuries before when Jared was still human] before using her and tossing her aside causing deadly enmity between the two vampires ever since!
During a fight when Calla's lover Jared is thrown through a plate glass window into the sunshine outside, the onlookers are horrified, then mystified when he suffers no fatal reaction - Calla's witch blood that he lapped during the previous night's love-making provides him with immunity to it. Thereafter Calla volunteers to donate enough of her blood via transfusion to protect all the other vampires in the same way, which severely drains and weakens her, making Jared and Tessa very anxious.about her. The battle commences and only ends after many hours and losses on both sides (including Ally), but results in Tessa being saved - for now.
Once more the clock is ticking and only Book 3 will lead towards a greater understanding and enjoyment right to the usual cliffhanger ending!

The Covens Clashed
Wow...I don't know where to begin. Good build from book one through book 3 of the series. Each built nicely on the prior so it felt as if the three books became one read. Clash of the Covens contained a lot of intrigue, passion, new and old lovers. Tessa discovers her heritage, which explains why the Calder are hunting her down. When the Calder finally find Tessa she's ready for Calder Coven versus Vampires and Calla's coven (Fairhaven) at the O.K. Corral. Oh, who's Calla? She's the witch who had to tether herself with a blood to Tessa versus being killed. However, she becomes critical to Tessa and how the battle ends. One question remains, does Kristian turn Tessa? Very enjoyable read and highly recommend Clash of the Covens.

Firehaven vs Calder witches
Tessa and Kristian need Calla's Firehaven clan to help them fight against the Calder witches who are on their way to take and kill Tessa. Ally brings all the vampires she can to help. Who will be standing at the end of this vicious battle? Read on for the answer. I really liked this story as it gives more info on Calla's relationship with Jared, Kristian and Tessa. It also gives you a glimpse into the dynamics of some rules the different covens have. Great story.

This is the second book in the series and the good news is the first one is free on Amazon so check out Kiss of a Vampire and then read this second book.
It is a great choice for those who enjoy paranormal romances. I liked the storyline and the characters are well developed. There is a good mix of action and romance. The characters have great chemistry and it is easy to connect with them and the story.

Another great book from Martha. Book 3 tells the story of Calla and Jared. It's a gentle love story juxtaposed with an intense feeling of impending doom. Not easy living through the calm before the storm and all the emotions that entails. The Calder are once again on their tails and set for destruction. I think this book had a calmer overall feel to it than previous books a softer side. There's still plenty of action to be had though. I'm curious where the story will go next. We shall see.

Continued action and excitement will keep you reading and at the edge of your seat until the end!
I am ready for book 4..."The Immortals Calling!"
The bonus stories in each book don't hurt either!😁

Like the previous books the author is consistent in her portrayal of the characters and the plot. She has you cheering for the main characters. The descriptions of the action was subtle yet you knew what was happening, the author put just the right amount of gore you could imagine it as you read. I love this series.

I love this series, it just gets better and better!! Ms. Woods reminds me of a conductor the music (book in this case) starts out slow and builds and builds to a final crescendo that leaves me breathless!! I cannot wait for the next installment!!
