Love is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction.
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery ~
Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all
~ St. Augustine ~ Whatever our souls are made up, his and mine are the same
~ Emily Bronte ~ “You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me on this subject forever.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice At a time when the strict patriarchal community required a certain kind of behavior of women, both young and old, Elizabeth Bennet found out it was very difficult to have a strong-willed head on her shoulders. A young woman full of naively romantic dreams, with her nose stuck deep in a book at any given point, Lizzie’s entire world will turn upside down when two things enter her life. One, a bold, but snobbish and aloof young man by the name of Darcy. Two, love letters from a secret admirer who claims that it is only a matter of time before they shall be united in holy matrimony. While Lizzie has reached that age when a woman is required to find, attract and keep a potential suitor, she still believes that matrimony is more than just a union that is financially rewarding and socially convenient. Then, another man enters her life, a mysterious Earl Fortescue, and consciously or unconsciously, tries to erase Lizzie’s unwelcome feelings for the dashing Mr. Darcy. She continues to search for the identity of her mysterious suitor, perpetually fluctuating between these two men who have marked her life. She needs to marry one of them, that is true – but which one will it be? The one who dares to ask the question that is on his mind or the one whose love burns deep within his very soul, and who doesn’t know how to express himself? And most importantly, how will she know who is who? A special P&P bonus book is included.
Based on Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Pride & Prejudice, this is a sweet, clean Regency novella. It is the first book in the “Woman of Hope” series. The second book is soon to be published.
