Gen13, not as well known as the Marvel or DC super-groups, was a collection of young super-powered folks comprised of the heroes Fairchild, Rainmaker, Burnout, Grunge, and Freefall. They had the usual bouts of angst and antagonism suffered by the Young Avengers and the Teen Titans and the various X-teams, but had a flair all their own that was somehow both more humorous and sincere. Both of those qualities are well-captured in this book; TIME AND CHANCE is one of the text novels devoted to them, and is one of the better of its type. It has very nice illustrations (by Jeff Moy) at the beginning of each chapter as the Marvel novels did, and is a very fun read.
