4 "Nevermore!" Stars

Raven is working for Cross, one of the Sin City Outlaws biggest enemies. She is out to seek revenge on Alessandra a now Sin City 'ol lady for things that happened in the past, that neither had control over. Raven is very troubled and meets her match in Machete who is the one to 'take care' of her for the club. She has info they need and Machete is excited to be the one to get it.
"I'm paving this road to hell, Raven, it's up to you how we get there."

 photo bunker_zpsqpqbuccx.jpg

So Raven is locked in a bunker in the middle of the Nevada desert and Machete is trying (not very hard in my opinion) to break her and get intel on Cross. But Raven is unlike anyone Machete has come up against before, she doesn't fear him or pain so he has to try other ways. There seemed to be one huge struggle with control between these two, neither one wants to give in to the other.
"You may very well be the queen of hell, Raven, the fucking demon Lilith to be exact, but while you're in my den, I'm the fucking Devil. I'm the fucking Master. Understand?"

I enjoyed their little power struggle but it did get old fast, with lots of inner dialogue about how 'evil' the both are but not really doing anything 'evil'.

 photo raven1_zpsfxfof7cx.gif

Raven is a great character, she is messed up her soul being crushed when she was forced to live in horrible conditions as a child. She is so lost she seems unsaveable that is until she meets Machete who she finds something in she didn't know she was looking for.

As for Machete, he didn't do anything for me and I am not talking about his looks. His overall character just came across as immature for me.

This was my least favourite of the series so far, it started great and the last 30% was really good but unfortunately the rest had me a bit bored. I still enjoyed the overall story I just thought there needed to be more happening all the way through rather than just the beginning and end. I look forward to the next one.

This series just keeps getting better and better! I knew machete was going to bring the little bit of darkness that I craved from him and I certainly got it. “Illicit” was a no holds barred, action packed story from start to finish and I’m so glad that I took a chance on this series because the “Sin City Outlaws Men are my absolute favorites.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“When I break you, can I keep you?”

Known as the “Enforcer” for his club, Machete is the one who isn’t afraid to get sh*t done. While your over there figuring out the best way to kill someone without getting messy, Machete has already done it and he’s now smoking a cigarette in boredom. So to say you that he’s not quite right in the head is an understatement but just don’t tell him that. Now on club business, Machete’s new job is to imprison and get critical information from an enemy that has caused them nothing but pain. But that enemy is someone who he never saw coming because little does he know, she’s just as crazy and ruthless as he is.

“She’s the kind of crazy you could get addicted to quickly.”

Raven isn’t your average girl. From being kidnapped at a young age and force to become a weapon of destruction, the only thing that she knows is darkness and because of that, she’s hurt someone that belongs to the “Sin City Outlaws”. Knowing that her time is limited because these men aren’t to messed with, Raven comes face to face with the red haired monster himself. With a mind like theirs, how long will they go without killing each other?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Raven and Machete were seriously messed up in the head to the point that every time they were together, I kept wondering if it would be their last because someone was going to die! Emotions doesn’t mean anything to both of them so seeing their internal struggle with each other was different and I found myself rooting for them because they deserved to have something normal if only for a moment.

I love that we always get these strong bad ass heroines in these stories and Raven was no different. This girl went through hell and back and she knew no matter how hard she tried, she was never going to be normal and she accepted it. Machete was an unexpected complication in her life but he brought out a different side to her and she did the same with him and I enjoyed seeing them in that element.
If you haven’t read this series yet, I really don’t know what you’re waiting for. “Illicit” will have you wanting more of the “Sin City Outlaws”.

Machete and Raven's is totally twisted fantastic read. This whole series has been a must read series with this being more twisted and and couldn't put down than the rest. If you like hot sexy bikers that have more going on than you think and strong women then this is a must. I can't wait to read Mac's story I'd highly recommend as must read.

I absolutely LOVE this series, and ILLICIT was a definite SERIES FAVORITE of mine! It was disturbingly beautiful, alluring, poetic, and oh so captivating. With each turn of the page, M.N. Forgy made it harder and harder to look away. I knew Machete's story was going to be something else, but Forgy did THAT MAN justice, for sure! Machete and Raven are a match made in hell, but as the story went on, and I got more and more sucked into this world of pure chaos, it sinks in that these are two people who were supposed to come together in a way that was HIGHLY unconventional, to say the least. They were supposed to come together the way that they did, and slowly but surely heal one another's shattered hearts. If you like darker romances...if you like MC romances...if you like crazy characters that stick with you no matter what, YOU NEED TO READ this book, this series, anything by this author! She absolutely KILLED it with Machete and Raven's story, and only Forgy can bring together two incredibly broken characters and make her readers fall in love with every single broken piece.

"I'm paving this road to hell, Raven, it's up to you how we get there."

ILLICIT is book four of M.N. Forgy's Sin City Outlaws series. It can be read as a standalone, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND starting from the beginning to get a better all around feel for the life that theses outlaws live. And when it comes to Machete, you will have a deeper understanding of his character if you start from the beginning. Believe, it will be no hardship, because I am absolutely addicted to ALL THINGS Sin City Outlaws! Oh! And we are set up good for the next book and I can't even tell you how excited I am for what's to come in this incredible series!

I know that I will be in a minority , but ... Machete who is brutal and enjoys in giving pain, and Raven, which is similar to him, has fallen out ... like a sugar puppy.. .. The story itself is lame with no real chemistry and no story at all...

She’s the kind of crazy you could get addicted to quickly.”

I’m just going to start with saying that this is by far my favorite book in the Sin City Outlaws. I’ve been following this series from the start and I’ve been putting in my reviews that I was looking for a bit more grit and Forgy freaking delivered with this one.

Illicit is dark and gritty with two broken souls fighting to seek the freedom they so desperately need. Most of the time it’s ugly but every once and a while beauty strikes from within.

Raven and Machete are both so broken in different ways yet they are equally strong. You can tell from the start that they are perfect for each other. Even Machete’s brothers could see that. Despite the fact that Raven is their enemy and Machete is the one that has to torture her for club business.

It’s been a while since I’ve liked the heroine as much as the hero. There’s something about the two of them that just sucked me in and had me latching on for dear life. I was connected to them. I felt invested in their story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a gritty MC book with broken souls, redemption, and crazy kind of love, this is the book for you. It can be read as a standalone.

Like I can't even get the words to come to my mind to right this review, I'm in utter and complete shock of the whole damn thing. Like amazing shock not the bad icky shock. Machete and Raven are these amazing couple I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into and boy was I not disappointed at all. MN Forgy has done an outstanding job with getting both their stories out and even the plot twist was amazing. every page had something new and exciting happening rather you were ready for it or not. The love that was shown is like nothing you have seen in this author's stories before its 10times better, hotter and edge of the seat read. The amount of details of the past made this story even better, what makes this stick out the most is the 2 dark and lost souls coming together and becoming 1. Even through everything they both have been through they show that they can really come out on top and even better. The whole bat thing who would have thought to write about that, something different and unique is what I'm calling it. I freaking Floved this story from start to end. I wanted more and more by the end. MUST READ. You'll have a huge book hangover by the end fair warning but it's so worth it over and over again.

Oh Lord! This a dark and twisted one! This couple is thrown together because of Raven's actions against the MC. But the book takes on a whole new life as Machete and Raven show us their true colors. Blood and pain seem to be the norm for them.

This is the 4th book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. The brilliance of the author shines in this book. She takes two seemingly unloveable--maybe hateful characters and makes them human for us. Everyone's normal is different. Raven and Machete will never be a "typical" couple but deep down they get each other. They come from the same place....that little spot in hell reserved just for them. The beauty of the story is watching them not only accept each other, but realize that they are worthy of love.

A lot of violence in this one. Also the creep factor of Edgar Allen Poe references. Some emotional tugging at the heart strings as well. I am anxious to see what this family looks like in the future. Looking forward to the next book!

When I finished Illicit all I could think to myself was holy hell that was dark, it was a bit disturbing and the best book by M.N. Forgy has written yet. I love her books this is no secret, I have been a fan since the first book she wrote and with each book she surprises you but Illicit will have you wondering if you are a bit crazy when all you want is more, more, more. I want more of Machete. I want more of Raven. I want more of the darkness and healing and pain that Machete put Raven through, I want more of Raven craving his torment.

I lost sleep because I refused to put it down until I finished it which was in the middle of the night. I could possibly have put Raven to shame with my evilness due to the lack of sleep but hey you gotta do what you gotta do and I had to finish that book.

This can be read as a standalone but I think it might be beneficial to readers to have read Retaliate because you find out more of who Raven is and why Machete has her the way he does. I am trying to not give any spoilers away because trust me I want to scream wait until you get to this part, or when you read this you are gonna be on the edge of your seat, but I won’t. I want you to read Illicit for yourself to find out why I loved Machete as much as I did.

M.N. Forgy went to a whole new level of darkness in Illicit and this is one this book whore plans on reading again and again.

Fair warning, this one is DARK!!! And by far, the darkest of M.N. Forgy's I've read. You should read the other Sin City Outlaws books first but definitely at least Retaliate so you know the story with Raven.

Machete is tasked with getting information out of Raven - by any means necessary. Machete is scary AF!!! Just his thoughts were scary. And Raven matched him completely. His and her darkness were in compliment with each other. But at the same time, they softened each other because they, as unlikely as it seemed, would fall, even though they aren't supposed to.

This one forced me to go out of my comfort zone but it was a fantastically written story!

Good premise but poor execution

When I read the blurb I knew this was going to be different from your typical MC romance. In the end, it was an amalgamation of MC romance and dark romance. It leans more to the dark romance side because the only real connection to the MC thing is that Machete is a member of a MC.

I’m going to honest. I found this story to be weird and the execution sloppy. The mixing of tropes was just too much. There were grammar mistakes throughout the book and, while I can forgive some, there were just too many that it became distracting.

I couldn’t really engage with the characters. The revenge plot was wrapped too quickly but not quickly enough, if that makes sense. I will say that the twist at the end, the little surprise, did wrap the entire book up nicely and provided some redemption.

Not sure I’ll read any of the other books in this series. It just wasn’t my thing.

"Somewhere down the line I lost sight of humanity and stepped out of the sun to live in the dark. It's quieter, and more entertaining around those that lurk in the shadows. The rules are simpler but bloodier."

Ahhhhhhh Machete is one dark soul; messed up by his childhood, driven to madness by betrayal and cemented in hell by causing death and destruction where ever he goes he is the ultimate weapon in the fight to save their MC. Without empathy to reign him in he needs the pain of others to quiet the torment in his soul. Given Raven to torture until she gives up Cross he relishes the opportunity to inflict pain. Yet the dark haired beauty is unique, she doesn't fear the physical pain he promises instead she challenges his inner demons. Can Machete break her or will she find a way to break him first?

Illicit is book four in this series and is once again filled with tortured anti heroes that are longing to find acceptance. It's dark and plays with torture, dominance and walks a line of brutality throughout. Machete is a complicated man, a result of a harsh father, insane mother and the ultimate failed marriage that resulted in her death. He is cold, emotionless and thoroughly enjoys bestowing justice on those that try to break his club. Raven was raised to be a weapon, taken as a child she knows nothing but pain and darkness. Taken by the club she was meant to destroy from within, is she the key to ending the threat that is constant from Cross. Machete tries to break her, but somehow ends up owning her, their dark souls finding solace in each others pain. The club undergoes further hits from Cross and is in a precarious position with the mafia. It's a high tension read, filled with suspense, twists and turns and an undercurrent of danger. The romance is there but it is forbidden, unexpected and definitely as the title suggests illicit. Another amazing addition to the series by this author, who never fails to deliver stories that entertain and characters who find a place in your heart and stay there long after you've finished reading.

A five star illicit read.

I was so looking forward to Machete and Raven's tale. These characters were so broken and twisted I knew they were a perfect match. But being that they were so twisted, I expected more friction/ resistance between them before they gave in. Their connection was clear, but unlike the previous stories for Felix and Zeek, the conflict and angst for having attractions towards the enemy wasn't as strong.

I was also expecting suspense like the previous novels but I didn't feel Illicit had much at all. It wasn't until close to the end of the book that things kicked up and then it ended quite quickly.

Aside from that, I still enjoyed the characters. There were both strong in their own right. With Machete's task of "breaking" Raven for intel, he learned quite early that you can't break what is already broken. The way she grew up, she's known hell and no amount of pain Machete could threaten would even come close to what she's already been through. It's a bit of a downer for him because that's where his enjoyment comes from. But in his attempts to try...that's when things get interesting.

Though I wasn't able to fully connect, I will admit that the sexy times were very H.O.T. There is only one level for these two, and that is INTENSE. I'm looking forward to Mac's story next and I still love these Sin City Outlaws.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
She’s the kind of crazy you could get addicted to quickly.

She’s sweet and innocent, and I can’t decide if I want to hurt her or devour her. Maybe both.

“I will break you, Raven.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m fucking keeping you.”

If staying in the dark with you forever is love, then I never want to feel the warmth of the sun again.”

Raven; kidnapped as a girl, caged, starved, made into a weapon, taught to kill or be killed.

Machete, the enforcer for Sin City Outlaws, a man of no mercy who revels in torture techniques and the effects, until Raven.

Raven is captured by the MC, taken to a bunker and Machete is the one who has to get this tough nut to crack so they can find out the whereabouts of her trainer and previous captor Cross.

Machete's attempts at getting information from Raven fail, he is drawn to her darkness that matches his own and the man who you wouldn't think is capable of love begins to fall.

We were two insane people stuck in a sane society. Little do they know we're more dangerous together than apart.

Illicit is a delightful dark read with two wrong people couldn’t be more right.

I enjoyed the journey, the characters, the hotness, the danger and the action everything I love in an MC read.

Told in dual pov's and leads to a hea.

To those who ride or die! No matter how crazy the ride may get.

This is a truly superb story from M.N. Forgy, whose writing just gets better and better, I cannot recommend this series enough. It is Brilliant! This the fourth book in the Sin City Outlaws series and in my opinion the best of them all so far.

It is so well written; the story of Machete and Raven is dark, wicked and raw and will consume your heart and soul. The other three books should be read to feel the full enjoyment of this one and to get to know each of the characters.
Zeek, the president of the Sin City Outlaws, has given Machete the job of breaking Raven and finding out some important information that is vital to the survival of the club. They are two broken damaged people who when collide, as they do on more than one occasion, it's like a tsunami hit - powerful, deadly and totally devastating.

Raven is a total bad ass lady who gained my respect immediately, a fiery, passionate broken woman who doesn't stand for anything and is scared of nothing. She is a fantastic character to read. Machete has no heart, he is like a cold slab of iron, no feelings at all, he shows no mercy; this man is a cold blooded killer. However, when these two broken souls meet it is a tug of war, who will break first, who will win, the anticipation of reading this couple will devour you entirely.

M.N. Forgy has written both these characters to perfection, the development of each of their personalities was literally spell binding and addictive. I couldn't put this book down.

The fourth in the series, Illicit is an outstanding, dark read!
This book features Machete and Raven. Machete is an enforcer for the Sin City Outlaws MC. And Raven has become the club's prisoner, his orders are to retrieve information from her....any way he can, and as it seems he's incapable of feeling any compassion, so shouldn't have any trouble at all.
Raven is a "hard ass" killing machine with zero emotions or feelings and has no fear what so ever when she is captured. What happens when they come face to face? they're practically a mirror image of each other's psycho personality, things that neither of them expected.
This is dark, dark read. It was a real page turner and I found it hard to put down once I'd started. The characters Machete and Raven were intense and I just had to find how their journey ended.
I'm really excited about this series, I've enjoyed each book immensely. M.N Forgy is a wonderful writer and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Dark and Gritty.

Illicit starts where Retaliate left off, only this time it’s Machete’s turn to tell his story.

In the books prior Raven is set up to be a cop alongside Alessandra. Raven was brainwashed at a young age to hate Alessandra. The two were raised up together in the cages and forced to fight each other on a daily basis. Alessandra always came out as the winner. Raven has been held prisoner since she was a child and was forced to live a life full of brutality and savagery. When Raven sets Alessandra up to get captured by the ring leader ‘Cross’ all hell breaks loose. Especially now that Alessandra is an Old Lady.

Now Machete has himself a new toy to break in when the Sin City Outlaws capture Raven. But Machete is going to soon realize that he has finally met his match and in order to break his new pet he is going to have to dive into her mind and see what makes her emotionally tick because of the fact that she has been desensitized to feeling any sort of physical pain.

This novel was CRAZY!!!!

I loved Machette and his protective streak towards Raven since the beginning. His inner Demons fell in love with her inner demons.

Illicit is a crazy love story! One that I highly recommend to all the Dark Romance lovers.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, danger, suspense, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Reign (Sin City Outlaws #1)
Mercy (Sin City Outlaws #2)
Retaliate (Sin City Outlaws #3)

This is Raven and Machete’s story. Raven is the prisoner of Machete and his MC brother’s club. She is the enemy. He has to find her weakness in order to break her. But she has a dark past and is not easily broken. Can he find a way to break her? What happens when she starts to make him feel? Will he have to give up his club for wanting an enemy of the club? Or can he get her to fall for him so ha can keep her? Will she always be a prisoner?

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Illicit is book 4 in the Sin City Outlaws MC by M.N. Forgy

God I love a good MC book and I was not disappointed with Illicit. Action, MC and of course Machete, what's not too love?

Machete isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, you want something done, he's your man. He's one ruthless Mofo.

Raven isn't your normal girl, she's lived a pretty messed up life and survived.

Machete has definitely met his match in Raven. These two are so much alike it's scary. They think to much alike "Kill or be Killed".

"We're two insane people stuck in a same society. Little do they know, we're more dangerous together than apart"

My favorite part of this book is the strong kick ass heroin Raven. She survived pure hell and came back kicking ass.
And I loved the connection these two had, as messed up as they were, they couldn't have been more perfect for each other.

Love this MC series and can't wait for the next book!

I thought this was boring. It takes place in a bunker for much of the book and it was slow paced. The chemistry was lacking. I think there should have been more a story line with Cross. This for me was a boring read.

M.N. Forgy takes us down a familiar road of forbidden love, yet things are quite different this time. For this time around things get darker than they ever had before as M takes her niche for grit to a level she hasn't explored before.

I knew Machete and Raven would be trouble and together they proved that much to be true, but they were more than the monsters inside of them. They were also two human beings whom souls were blackened, who also happened to be two of the most loving people once you stripped them bare and got to the very core of them.

M.N. Forgy has created a MC world that is suspenseful and sexy. This is THE book of the series! The one that takes you to the edge, gives you the thrills, and a high worth chasing. So, are you ready for the madness? 'Cause things are about to get freaking crazy.

This series gets better and better and darker and darker with every book that’s added and I’m shock to say that this book, the darkest, is by far the best of the series. I love Zeek and Felix, but Machete has something dark and broken and intimidating that makes me obsessed about him.

Maybe he’s right about me being Lilith, but one thing’s for sure. You can’t have the queen of hell without a king.

Warning ⚠️ If you haven't read the first books of the series, I highly recommend you do so and start from the beginning with Reign, Mercy and Retaliate, so you can fully understand Sin City Outlaws MC story. Machete and Raven’s dark romance might be standalone, but not the club’s story.

Raven wasn’t just a prisoner of the Sin City Outlaw MC, she kidnapped the old lady of the Vicepresident and she tried to kidnap the babies of the President, so that made her the enemy of the club, but she had information of the brains behind those attacks, and only the ruthless and more illicit member of the club can get that information from her, so they could take revenge.

Machete was lethal, merciless and with no heart, and when he thought he would intimidate Raven to get the information he needed, he found himself in front of a strong, fearless and cold hearted woman and all his usual violent ways wouldn't work with her. So he only had one option: mind fuck her, but he ended up mind fucked in return.

This book was AMAZING!! I never, and I mean, never read a dark romance, and less a book as violent as this one, but I loved every word of Illicit. I felt like watching a movie, the descriptions were perfect, the violent scenes were so vivid, and the mind fuck scenes were even more intense. I fell in love with both characters, with all their darkness and how broken they were. Reading how they fought their desires was the best of this dark romance, and the MC club business and crimes was super exciting, it had me on edge all the time.

All in all, awesome book, awesome characters, and spectacular series. 200% recommended.

Book 1: Reign
Book 2: Mercy
Book 3: Retaliate

Dark and gritty...just how I like them.

This is not my first Sin City book but I did miss the one before this one. This one could be read as a standalone but I did feel like I was missing some of the other character's back story. Missing what happened before does not hurt your understanding of these two characters though because all of their issues and darkness and craziness is all there for your reading enjoyment.

Raven was given a task and she failed. Now she has become the task and Machete is going to break her, or is he. Raven is a tough cookie; she isn't scared by pain, she doesn't all of a sudden become compliant when threatened with death and she certainly isn't scared of a little blood. She is hard core, but what else is expected when you have a history like hers.

Machete is just a crazy as Raven is, maybe a little more unstable if that is possible...nah, maybe not but definitely close. He lives in the darkness of his soul because he likes it there. He likes to inflict pain, he likes to make others scream and he cares for no one save his brotherhood. He had a taste of what he thought was love once and he refuses to go there again.

This book wasn't quite as scorching as some of the others I have read by this author. Don't get me wrong, when the heat is turned on it's turned all the way up, but there was a lot of gritty story to be told. The club is looking for someone and they think Raven has the information. Raven is unlike any captive that came before her so Machete spends a long time seeing what makes her tick and scream and cry. I devoured this in a day, always waiting to see what was going to happen. Were they going to find their guy, was Raven going to survive her time with the club, was Machete going to throw her off the deep-end, was he going to lose sight of the end game in the process...so many variables that kept me glued to this book and now I want the next one...cause Mac.
