Today the world moves forward on ideas and here’s one book that shows how it can be done.

Why should you absolutely buy this book?

The book defines the entire process of ideation – not just the how but the why too. And that makes it very important. Written in an easy conversational style, devoid of jargon and obtuse terminology, the book is a simple way of understanding the entire process of coming up with great ideas and how to go about making them happen. More importantly, it tells you that you need it and why.

I find Sridhar’s matter-of-fact approach makes this book very lucid reading and of course, very easy to follow. But don’t get me wrong, it does not mean you can do your own facilitation. In his characteristically frank manner, Sridhar explains why you do need an experienced facilitator to ensure that ideas are nurtured the way they should be.

In a world increasingly stuck in the moment, wanting quick fixes and snap decisions, taking some time to step back and looking at innovation and ideation in a unique way is important. And with the 7 keys to unlock this power it can be quick and effective as well!
Sridhar’s book, Unlock the real power of ideation helps you do just that: to ensure that you know how to spring forward with new ideas.

Great book. Finished it in practically one go. Lots of learning. I do a lot of workshops myself but this is Gyan from the master himself. Required reading if you conduct ideation sessions. Or if you just want to think more creatively as a team.

If you want to make presentations about making change, read Seth Godin. If you want to make change, read R Sridhar. This is a book to use, not admire on your shelf.

Sridhar is an advertising great, as well as the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Direct Marketing in India. In his post-agency life, he conducts ideation sessions -- also called brainstorming, or creative problem-solving sessions. This book is his attempt to share some of the tools and practices he has employed over the years. So even though it unfolds in a story format, it's really a walkthrough of how the process works.

I found the anecdotes, examples, and throwaway stories the best part of the book. It's a supremely easy read, but don't let that fool you for a minute. It isn't one of those aphorism-drawn-out-into-a-book type management reads; it's a how-to. And if you work on a brand, a product, or a service, it'll help you immensely. In fact, it'll help you ask the right questions -- of yourself, your team, your clients -- any time you're tasked with making a major professional decision.

A brilliant book by all means. A must read for entrepreneurs and people who struggle to be creative. Sridhar has done a fabulous job by narrating all his ideas like a story. It is not the usual non-fiction book, it is genuine with a lot of fabulous advice for business leaders. He talks about 7 keys that are crucial for idea generation. This is a must read for any serious creative person. You will not be disappointed.

I have read most of the books on innovation worth reading and most of them read like text books. What I thought was unique was the easy narrative that Sridhar has used in the book. He is practically telling you a story and in the process revealing all the techniques that he has used as an innovation and ideas guide over the last many years. Its practically the entire toolkit for innovation facilitation.

A beautifully crafted and chiseled book on IDEATION. I don't remember any Indian author touching this subject. The conversational style makes it more interactive and interesting. The seven keys to unlock the real power of ideation is just superb. Sridhar takes you through the journey of generating ideas in a very simple understandable language with no jargons. The techniques listed are very simple to implement techniques. It was a single go read for me and I enjoyed reading it word to word, back to back. Annexure 11 in the book is going to cost me, as I will be forced to order some more books referred by him on the subject.
