Legs of Life #1

A Long Legged Life

Rate this book
When water follows the path of least resistance, it doesn’t mean it is the right path, or perceived as the correct path.

Eva Kenier’s fairytale childhood in the 60’s and 70’s starts out as a sheltered babbling brook that flows into turbulent rapids, whitewater, and falls. Sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll of the 80’s and 90’s lurk around every corner, but do not get the better of her.

Through fortitude and acuity, she surfaces within a mirrored pool of calm and warmth; no more eggshells to walk on; no more fear she will disappoint, her guard is down. As she peers into her reflection, she must own, love, and value what she sees.

The ride she is on, while under anesthesia, covers living in eight states, attending six colleges, sustaining 192 stitches from injuries, and undergoing five surgeries-- including the one she is having at the moment.

Will her journey continue?

My career has primarily been in the “eye care” world. I have also slung hash and liquor, saved freezing dogs, held blood donors’ hair while they puked in a bucket, and now I write. I am an author of Women’s Fiction, Contemporary, Biographical and Romantic Thrillers. My dogs beckon me for pee breaks, and we smell the roses on our adventures which helps me to become a better writer. I live with my beloved husband, John, and our five rescued pets in the secluded hills near the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.

A great page-turner. Sometimes it takes awhile to get into a story line, but not this time. Not sure what Edward's comments mean in his review, but this book gets a five star from me. Looking forward to the "continued life adventure."

I was disappointed in this book. I ordered it because it was advertised on the Facebook Group "Growing Up in the Valley Memory Lane." The last book I ordered from this site was excellent. I related to all the valley places and the growing up years mentioned. This book was not like that. It was more like the author's autobiography. It took place all over the United States and did not relate to anything in which I had any interest. Perhaps it would relate well to a woman reader since all the experiences were from a woman's point of view and about a hedonistic lifestyle. As history of a certain age and genre it did not resonate for me.
