This was very good thriller as Kayla and Levi race to turn the tables on the traffickers who want back a girl Kayla has helped escape from them. It was easy to become invested in these characters and the dashes of Danish flavor were a fun bonus. This is exactly the sort of read I'm looking for when I pick up a Love Inspired Suspense book!
Christian message isn't quite as pronounced as in some of her others because it's clear this couple are already believers.
Content: some kissing, some reference to human trafficking/sex slavery

Lisa Harris is back with another international romantic suspense and I'm loving the exciting locales she uses as a backdrop for her stories. This time it's the Netherlands and Harris deftly weaves interesting facts and history into this nail-biting read.
And what a read it is! Fasten your seat-belts and hold onto your hats because the rapid pace action and stellar suspense is guaranteed to take you on a wild ride. Intense might be the most apt way to describe this novel. The subject matter is sobering and the stakes are high as Kayla and Levi race against time to save Kayla's father and protect vulnerable Mercy. In fact, the whole book covers the span of just a few days which might make the romance feel rushed until you've met this hero and heroine and get a bit of their back story. A fiercely good read!

This is a Romantic Suspense. I had a very hard time getting into this book, and I also felt the romance parts were not great. I did get into the suspense and action parts once I got into the book. Overall, I found this book just ok.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Deadly Exchange. I always enjoy Lisa's books. I do look forward to her next one. This book is well written, action packed and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
International Freedom Operation Social Advocate Kayla Brooks lives in Amsterdam. She works to save girls caught up in human trafficking. She is riding her bike home when she is hit by a car, threatened, and warned to tell no one. she soon finds out that the human traffickers have kidnapped her father and refuse to give him back unless she gives them a girl that they had rescued. Her ex-fiance`s brother shows up and comes to tell her that his brother is out of jail and after her. He has come to help. Can he rescue her and her father from the traffickers? She has known him for years
how is it she has never noticed how good looking and wonderful he is in all that time?

I’ve read a few of Lisa’s travel suspense novels and they’re getting better and better. This one was fully developed as the suspense and romance began immediately and were paced appropriately through the rest of the novel. The intrigue is very relevant, trafficking of young ladies imported from poorer countries, and Kayla Brooks, thevstory’s heroine was passionate and very believable in her approach to solving the mystery of the girl who has been kidnaped.
Kayla gets help from old friend and ex-husband’s brother, Levi, who is courageous and charming throughout as he both protects and encourages Kayla in her search. The bad guys are good at being bad and add the necessary tension to this intriguing cat and mouse story.
The story is set in Amsterdam and having been in the city when I was reading it made the story come alive and helped give me some tips on what to see and eat while visiting.
Easy to read, suspenseful with 2 good lead characters makes this a very satisfying story.

This book was exactly what I was looking for, I knew it wouldn't be too nasty with gory details of killing, it shouldn't be too filled with the mushy love and tons of sex, and it would have the right sprinkling of God.
Kayla is working hard to get her life back in order and has found refuge in helping young girls get out of the clutches of human traffickers. We find out how she was touched personally by this and why it has become so important to her.
Levi shows up on her doorstep to help protect her from one evil only to be involved now with helping her in this human trafficking issue.
We see the sparks flying between them but they keep their heads in the game to save those involved.

Intense romantic suspense! Kayla works for a non-profit organization in Amsterdam that helps rescue individuals who have been trafficked. When her ex-fiance's brother shows up the same day her dad gets kidnapped, and she gets threatening messages that something will happen to him if she doesn't turn over one of her rescued girls, Levi gets thrown into the mix with her. They race against the clock to find Kayla's dad while still keeping the girls safe. As they fight time and a group of traffickers, they also fight against long-buried feelings for each other. Recommend for anyone who enjoys intense romance and action packed suspense!

Not too bad as a thriller--although there really wasn't too much suspense but I read it through really quickly--but I could have done without the romance part. Levi and Kayla's history is skimmed over, and suddenly they've been secretly in love with each other and then they get together. This is a case of "other characters point out the characters are in love in lieu of actual romance being written in."

The plot of this novel contains lots of action. The main characters barely have time to rest before they are chased or attacked by the villains. The story, however, did inform me about slave trafficking, especially using women. The story was suspenseful because the heroine's dad was kidnapped by the villains who threatened to kill him if she didn't turn over a woman she had rescued from the slave traffickers. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading other books by Lisa Harris.

Kayla and Levi had known each other for years, in fact they should be in laws but Adam, Levi's brother and Kayla is ex fiance had just got out of jail. Kayla moved to Holland after this terrible episode in her life and was working to save young girls mixed up in sex trafficking. How does she find her Dad, protect Mercy and deal with the feelings she feels for Levi?

Saving a raft of people
When Kayla's dad is kidnapped & held hostage, she's surprised to see her old friend, the brother of her ex-fiancee, on her doorstep. Even though his premise for being there was flimsy, it solved the purpose of moving the story along. He was able to help her find Mercy, a young woman who had been trafficked, and also her dad. It's set in Amsterdam and provides plenty of twists and turns. Lisa Harris, author.
