Award winning author Virginia Vaughan lives by the motto ‘It’s not hoarding if its books’. Always the kid with her nose stuck in a book, becoming a multi-published author hasn’t stopped Virginia from continuing to grow her own collection of favorite reads. Her family has refused to help her move anymore because of the sheer number boxes of books, but she’s no quitter. She’ll keep buying books and, the next time she moves, hire a moving van.

CIA Agent Bethany Bryant is the only one who believes Marcus Allen is still alive and she won’t rest until she can prove otherwise. Bethany is driven by the fact that she was betrayed by the man she loved and that he betrayed his country. In her blind anger and focus to bring Marcus in she doesn’t realize some one else wants Marcus Allen as well, just not alive. She is not prepared to find Marcus in a little diner with no memory of her, the ambush or of his ranger buddies and now she needs to figure out who else wants him dead. Marcus Allen has been trying to remember in time to save Bethany and hopefully he’s not one of the bad guys whom she believes him to be. Will they find out in time or will it be to late?
I’ve always enjoyed a good amnesia story, but some things didn’t quite add up on this one. The bad guy kills a number of people but stops just short of killing some others and I couldn’t figure out the “miss” other than author sympathy; it ended up making the bad guy less believable. Otherwise, a good thriller with romance.
This is the 1st book I read by Virginia Vaughan. I was into this story until Bethany arrested Marcus, after Marcus saved Bethany & everyone else after a shooting. Marcus could have let her get killed, plus Bethany wasn't being rude to Marcus.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Mission: Memory Recall. This is the sixth book in the Rangers Under Fire Series. I always enjoy Virginia's books and I know you are going to love this one. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith.
CIA analyst Bethany Bryant is determined to find the man she once loved. The soldier is believed to be dead but Bethany is sure he's alive and that he betrayed his men by setting up an ambush that killed most of his team. She finds him in a small rural town in Texas. An assassin follows her and starts shooting when they meet. Her ex tells her that he has amnesia. How is she going to be able to believe him? That's the oldest lie in the book.
Ex-military Marcus Allen was attacked in Afghanistan. He was helped by a small village. They told him the CIA was after him. They helped him escape and come back to the US. He has no idea who he is or what happened to him in the middle east. When he is told a woman at the restaurant knows him he is determined to find out what she knows, even when people are shooting at them. He does find out that he knows exactly what to do when they are attacked. Can he get those memories back or will he have to live this way, never knowing if he was a good guy or a bad one?
A journey of two broken souls that must build a relationship of forgiveness and trust while trying to find the killers and regain Marcus' memories. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not of evil. Give him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.
Action packed from the first page! She thought their romance was prematurely ended with his death ... until news came to light that led her to believe he betrayed her and his country and faked his death. She has devoted her life to tracking him down ... and now that she has, will she believe the story he has to tell? The characters are easy to relate to, the plot is exciting and keeps us guessing who is guilty of what throughout ... great read!
CIA analyst Bethany Bryant thinks she has finally tracked down the fugitive she has devoted her life to hunting down for the last two years ... her former love, Marcus Allen. Devastation over his loss was nothing compared to the betrayal and heartbreak she felt when she found out he had snookered not only her, but also the country he had sworn to serve. She wants nothing more than for him to be brought to justice once and for all for his desertion!
When Marcus gets called out of the kitchen at the diner he works at because a customer says she knows him, he's thrilled! He's been trying to get answers as to who he is and where he belongs for 2 years now, but keeps hitting dead ends. Could this be the answers he's been praying for? He's not so sure, because almost as soon as he steps foot beside her, danger rears it's ugly head in the form of bullets tearing through the window. Who wants the secrets he wants to remember so badly to be kept silent once and for all?
Mission: Memory Recall is the first book I've read by Virginia Vaughan and I enjoyed it. One of the reasons why I enjoyed it is because it is a Loved Inspired Suspense. It is very suspenseful with a Christian influence. CIA analyst Bethany Bryant has been looking for Marcus Allen even though was pronounced dead two years ago after a military ambush in Afghanistan. She finally finds him in Little Falls, Texas but Marcus has amnesia and he is still trying to remember what happened. She has been tracking him because of charges of treason and terrorist activities! But when Bethany arrives she endangers her life as well as his. A sniper is after them, trying to silence them. Why? What really happened in Afghanistan and who can they trust? This is an entertaining book with interesting characters and a mystery to follow. It keep me turning the pages to see what happened next.
Get ready for a fast-paced adventure! Marcus Allen, suffering from amnesia, knows nothing but his own name. When CIA analyst Bethany Bryant tracks him down, he’s hopeful she can help him unlock the secrets of his identity. But after they narrowly escape an attempt to kill them, he realizes that time is running out to figure out who he really is.
This action-packed book is full of suspense! You won’t want to put it down.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Sniper, bombs, amnesia, CIA are all part of this fast-moving, action packed book! Bethany Bryant is a strong leading character and a CIA analyst. Bethany does not believe Marcus, the man she loves, was killed in a military ambush and has worked to track him down. The action begins when Bethany finds Marcus who claims he does not remember who he is. Marcus does feel Bethany is part of his past. If you like action, you'll love Mission: Memory Recall. I received a complimentary copy from the author, Virginia Vaughan. This is my honest opinion.
I always love when the title of a book perfectly depicts the whole premise of the story and Mission: Memory Recall does exactly that! Author Virginia Vaughan does an excellent job drawing readers in with a story that is filled with mystery, intrigue and of course romance, keeping readers entertained until the very last page.
If you are a fan of suspenseful books and enjoy being taken on a wild ride with plenty of twists and turns, then Mission: Memory Recall is the book for you!

This was an interesting finale to a series I mostly enjoyed. The previous book fell flat for me so I was hoping for better in this one. I enjoyed the characters of Marcus and Bethany and the storyline was exciting and kept me interested. There was one specific plot point though that kept me from enjoying it fully. I did not care for what happened to Milo and Marie. I felt that was unnecessary and that diminished my enjoyment. However I do like most of Virginia's books and will definitely read her in the future.

What happens when you lose your memory after a military ambush and the villagers say the CIA is bad.. Hide from them! You hide of course! Marcus has now been found back in the USA. Bethany, a CIA analyst has found him and unknowingly led a sniper to him that wants him dead! I liked the faith element, that it had lots of action and just the right amount of romance. I was gifted a copy and my review is voluntary...
If you like inspirational suspense, this book will make a good read for you. Virginia Vaughan has filled this one with good suspense and believable characters sure to satisfy the suspense lover.
*My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are entirely my own.
Virginia Vaughan has done it again! Another book I couldn't put down. Except this one has to be my favorite so far. I love that the Heroine is the strong lead character and the Hero is the one that needs "rescuing" so to speak.
What a fantastic finish to an absolutely fantastic series. The author did an amazingly superb job with this series. It seemed as though I was right there with the characters. Kudos to you, Virginia
Wow - what an outstanding finish to this series. Many thanks to Virginia Vaughan for a great series. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to those readers who enjoy romantic suspense and/or thrillers.
I wouldn't have guessed it was not a stand alone book, didn't really give any of the normal shout outs to call attention to that fact. Very fast paced and I feel all was solved.
Mission: Memory Recall is the fifth book in Ranger Under Fire series by Virginia Vaughn. It was another edge of your seat suspense story that wouldn't let me stop reading until I reached the finale. I really enjoy Virginia's style of writing with action packed dialogue. She always leaves me guessing as to what will happen next.
CIA analyst Bethany Bryant believes her former love, soldier Marcus Allen, is still alive. She's risked her career because she thinks he survived a military ambush and has betrayed his own country. When she arrives in a small remote Texas town of Little Falls, she can't believe her eyes when she spots him working at Milo's Diner. Marcus has amnesia because he can't remember anything about his past. He only knows his name. The injuries that he sustained during the ambush erased his memory. The action suddenly takes place when the enemy tracks them down to the diner. Will Marcus ever regain his memory? Will Bethany and Marcus discover who's after them and why? Will they rekindle the love they once had since they'll be spending time together? Will Bethany ever find out what happened to Marcus years ago?
I really enjoyed this installment and I believe it was a good end to the series. The two main characters captured my heart and I enjoyed how Virginia captured the chemistry they had together. I enjoyed the suspense of watching them run from the sniper and how they worked together in discovering what was going on. I enjoyed how they developed trust in one another again after spending years alone from one another. I recommend this book. I received an advanced copy from the author in return for giving an honest review. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
Action filled story where trust is put to a test, where integrity is questioned, doing the right thing could be wrong, and love could be just blinding them from the true, crooked nature of the other... Marcus Allen is a character, that even with all the questions about his nature and intentions, I immediately liked him, trusted him, and wanted to cheer for him. The inner light of a good, solid man was shining through, the faith in God unwavering force in his life, his kindness and considerate nature as obvious as his attraction towards Bethany Bryant. With Bethany, I struggled a bit to like her. I understood where her mistrust and skepticism came from but her blindness to the situation at hand, her stubbornness to think the worse, to be so easily manipulated to believe the most negative possible outcome, it started to get to me after awhile. She struggles with her faith, she struggles to believe Marcus, she struggles to believe the culprit is as bad as they proved to be, yet Marcus's brothers in arms see the truth with fewer convictions and evidence that she has. Marcus and Bethany's feelings towards each other were genuine even though the past conflicts weight on their minds and hearts. The constant dodging of the attacks towards them, the questions of who to trust, the fight to survive, and the mind games of past memories, and the challenges the amnesia create, all provide a non-stop battlefield with vicious action, brutal combat, and tussle to survive. An entertaining and thought-provoking story ~ Four Spoons
