Steve is an expat Canadian who now lives in North Carolina. He has worked, at one time or other, as: a TV repairman, a security guard at a children's hospital, a janitor in a strip club, and a software developer for a regional bank. He is currently retired.

He honed his writing skills publishing the webcomic “Tree Lobsters” and screenwriting for the YouTube series “Death by Puppets”. When not busy refining his art, such as a clock in the shape of Rick Astley that chimes “Never Gonna Give You Up” on the hour (for which he is sincerely sorry), he published six collections of short stories and two novels, with no plans of stopping any time soon.

Such fun and so entertaining! Just the escape I needed for awhile. Fascinating, laugh out loud funny and the right amount of weirdness, which I loved! A great assortment of short stories which will keep your attention. Definitely a collection which has a high reread factor. I will be reading this one again.
I also plan to definitely read more novels by the mad genius known as Steve DeGroot!

Different from what I normally read but I enjoyed it! I don’t usually think about aliens much so it was fun to read stories about them.

I received this book from goodreads giveaways. This is a collection of sci-fi short stories. My favorites were “A hole in the sky”, “Book keepers”, “invasive species”, and “Character study”. Each of these stories was so unique, unlike anything I had ever read. They immediately draw you in to the plot and somehow in the short amount of time, the characters become really well developed. Some of the other stories aren’t quite as memorable. If you are a person who likes some sci-fi in your life but you can’t quite get into a full series, this collection of short stories is for you.

Not my kind of book. DNF. If you like to read about aliens, this is the book for you. I wasn't expecting all aliens. I expected random short stories, some maybe a little funky but in general, stories that a regular earthling/human could relate to. Rating 3 since less would not be fair to author and more would not be honest for me.

I’m not very into sci-fi but found this collection highly enjoyable nonetheless. The author’s exploration of the probable human(oid, alien, robot) is honest and humorous. I laughed out loud throughout. Space topics are approached with an eye for the practical implications, hilarity ensues.

I loved this. I rarely read sci fi, but this is one of the most witty, imaginative books in this genre that I’ve ever read. Check this out, sci fi lovers. Give it a chance, everyone else. Thanks to the author for gifting me a digital copy of this book via a Goodreads giveaway.
