Captives Of Pra'kir #4

The Alien's Mark

Rate this book
SHE SURVIVED THE CRASH...
THEY'LL MAKE HER WISH SHE HADN'T

Blythe Wainwright thought she had her life together. At twenty-eight, as an anthropologist studying other planets in the galaxy, she had become comfortable with the predictability of her life. However, that steady calm ended the day their ship crashed onto the shores of the coastal town of Endermere, on the Planet Pra’kir. Suddenly, her fate, and that of her four other shipmates, was in the hands—and at the mercy—of the Pra’kirians.

With no wife or children, Dr. Xan Breckett had been married to his career, climbing the ranks, becoming a respected member of the medical field. But he had aspirations for himself with no clear indication of how to attain them until the Council of Nine gave him one of the aliens that had crashed onto their shores from Terra. The red-haired beauty assigned to him might be the key to opening doors… doors he didn’t know existed.

But until he attained his career goals he’d train his ward—and pet— along with Ganza, the nurse, and his assistant, Billex. Blythe’s biting had been a nuisance in detention, but Xan knew how to treat a human whose only form of communication seemed to be biting, like an animal. He’d cure her of the vile behavior (and others, as well) no matter what harsh methods it took.

Though she was a grown woman, Blythe found herself held captive as a ward and pet in a household reminiscent of Victorian Earth. Under the authority of a very large, stern Pra’kirian – and one who expected complete and abject obedience she feared she had little hope of mercy.

But if she obeyed her stern captor, could she find contentment – and perhaps even happiness?

Publisher's Note: This stand-alone steamy dark romance is part of a five book series with authors Maren Smith, Dinah McLeod, Renee Rose, and Kate Richards.

Blythe crash landed on the planet of Prakir, ruining their pretty beach. They took exception to this and sentenced the crew, Blythe included, to be fostered with high security clearance families. Xan, a doctor with military background, is chosen for Blythe because she's proven herself problematic--mainly, she's a biter 😜

First, I loved Xan. He was deliciously dominant, and I enjoyed his take-no-shit attitude. Blythe, SMH, was a different story altogether though. Though I liked her more as the story progressed, I found her extremely annoying in the beginning. She continually made choices that didn't make any sense and only made her situation worse. While I can appreciate an author wanting to throw in some lovely punishment scenes, I cannot abide using otherwise intelligent women acting stupidly in order to accomplish it.

Outside of that, it was the inconsistencies that truly prevented me from enjoying this book...and there were quite a few.

There were a couple of problems with the timeline. There's also the fact that they (the people of Prakin) consider the women children even if we (people of earth) do not...
"They're still children--all of them are under thirty-five."
But if this is how they treat children...umm, gross.
The big one that really bothered me--Blythe has a freak-out about him not using protection, worried about pregnancy and STDs, even wonders if her birth control would protect her from becoming pregnant with an alien's child. But later...
"As for being sterile, they told me years ago I'd never have children."
So why the freak-out?

And many, many more. If Ms. Michaels cleaned up the discrepancies, this would be a great little read, though it does end in a 'To be continued...' and we're not warned of that.

Alert!💥 Reader📕 Abuse💪

Parts of this book are sickening.
The eight foot tall, Super Alpha Male Alien👹🍌🌋✋character, Xan, is smugly sadistic, cruel, and super dominant both sexually and physically. The society of Pra'kir, the alien planet🌍 the human women crash on, is completely and rigidly dominated by men and many of their laws are unjust. Corruption👿 runs rampant through the ruling class and through their prison system.
This book is about the human anthropologist, Blythe💋, one of the six survivors of the spaceship crash. She resists Xan👹🍌🌋✋ with everything she can muster, even biting👄 him, but she is no match for the three hundred pound ripped💪 doctor. He enjoys tormenting her with spankings✋✋, whippings, electronic shocks🔋, and various humiliation tactics. She💋 is his property, awarded to him by the courts to do with as he wishes.
Is there anyway these two people can find some kind of 💘love?💔 Maybe happiness at least part of the time?
To top it all off, this book📕 is a cliffhanger!
It's very tough to review this book📕 because there was much of it that was painful 💔for me to read. No one should be treated like Blythe💋💔 was treated. It was basically unrelenting torture, just no broken bones or bleeding.

I read the other 📚books quite a while back and don't remember if I reviewed them or not. They were similar but I don't recall them being so extreme in the sadism. The book📕 is well written and edited, I just don't like the twisted manner of the male character Xan, in the story. To me, he has no redeeming qualities except as that of a research doctor.
No YEHAWs here, just 😢sadness.🐎🐎🐎

These books even though all about the same subject and theme, are all written by different authors.

Read for an honest review with Kindle Unlimited. I paid for this!

NOT ANYTHING LIKE THE OTHER BOOKS IN SERIES, JUST CRUEL

In all the books in this series the Pra'kir men believe in obedience from their women and are not afraid to use spanking, belts or BDSM to get them to comply. But this book was about a Dr and a woman who was to become his slave & pet against her will. The punishments were harsh, humiliating and painful. This was WAY past obedience, he enjoyed her tears. Not only did he abuse her but his nurse was allowed to also and as usual because her body might react to forced stimulation that must mean she wanted it, wrong. The worst was his medical experiments and the need for her to not question and be still for things that scared her. As always she falls for him but it is the first time I've seen Stockholm Syndrome mentioned in a book were I believe that is exactly what happened. Prison and a death sentence was her alternate fate ( through no fault of her own) but after what he put her through I feel I would have chosen that then a collar, leash, tail, being brought to void outside like a dog and call him Master in every sentence.

Three words. Waste. Of. Time. I'm really tired of people mistaking abuse and violence for loving someone. Dr. Xan is sadistic and abusive at his core, only caring for advancing his career. He uses a shock collar and butt plug to "teach her a lesson" often. Other times using a shock wand to discipline Blythe. When her ass can't take anymore of his belt he makes her kneel on dry rice for a long time. This is NOT erotic! This is torture! I was disgusted someone could write this and label it erotic romance. Don't get me started on the sadistic nurse that "takes care of her" when the doc is busy and brutally punishes her. I'm surprised she didn't go insane from all the beatings she took. The story is mostly centered on him punishing and beating her when she resists his "training", only giving her the barest essentials of care. Apparently a slave only needs food, water, shelter and little affection. I have read other books from this series and they were fine but this one is the worst one yet. Probably since it was written by a different author. Hopefully no one takes relationship advice from this book because they would be arrested.

This book is not for the faint of heart. I have read other BDSM books, and none of them were near as graphic and abusive as this one. The other books in the series were what I expected. I would not under any circumstances recommend reading this book. The hero is a sadist and takes pleasure is beating and humiliating the heroine throughout the entire book. The heroine herself is a complete idiot to actually find pleasure being treated the way she was treated. She is forced to urinate outside in a most degrading manner, and the hero actually gets off on it. He also continually shocks her, even in her anus. Yep. As I said, this book is not for the faint of heart. Do not waste your time or money by buying this.

I'm sorry but this book is disgusting. I love a good dark romance, I like BDSM but this is not that. This is abuse plain and simple, he at 75% announces his love. All we know is that he beats her, shocks her to the point of urinating on herself and rapes her. At no point in time does he learn enough about her to love her, beyond the pain he inflicts upon her. This book is not sexy, and the insta love is even more disturbing. I have read all the books in this series and this one is sickening. Also did the author forget, this was an alien planet and in the previous books their written language was different, so why is he tattooing an x and a t?

Xan,that man,sorry...that alien,he is such a sadist! I hated some of the things he did,i really did. DNF. I was utterly disgusted with the way he treated her in the first couple chapters I couldn’t stomach reading it. A shock collar and a shock anal plug. Really. He was a total psychopathic sadist. Just No.

OMG this was intense. I have to say I was a bit worried about what was going to happen to Blythe. She was as scared as the rest of the girls and did the only thing she knew that would protect her, BITE. Dr. Xan Breckett happens to be the one that is her "foster family" that takes her in to rehabilitate and train her. She is treated like and pet. Collared and shocked, Xan tries to curb her biting. Blythe feels confused and humiliated by the way he treats her, but she soon realizes there is more to this man. Xan, is a dominant and a bit of a sadist. He enjoys seeing her tears but he is coming to realize that he never ever wants to break Blythe. He loves her strength and see something more. Something he never even expected, Love. Blythe finds security, caring, and love. Something she, too, never expected to find. Each has so much to themselves. As I read I realized there was so much more to them both. You feel fear and sorrow for Blythe for her past. And with Xan, he may act the dominant but he never puts Blythe through more then she can take. It was the discovery of each others need that really got me.

I look forward to the next story "Her Masters Hand" in the series.

This is not your usual love story.
It's dark and raw, just how I like it.
The subject is controversial but the
execution keeps the pages turning.
Blythe Wainwright is a anthologist,
she and four other women crashed on
the planet Pra'kir killing citizens of
Endemere.Found guilty of murder,
the women are fostered out.Blythe
finds herself under the strict care of
Dr Xan Brekett.Xan is determined to
train Blythe to be submissive and eventually
his partner.Blythe does not comply to the
rules very well and finds herself being
harshly punished.There are intense dynamics
between Xan and Blythe, the sexual chemistry
was powerful. It awakened a desire that
Blythe was not ready to accept. This story
is full of tantalizing scenes that made it
difficult to put down. This book is deep,
spicy and complex.Another winner by
Ms Michaels.

I am fan of Megan Michael and i love the Captives of Pra’Kir series, so I was really looking forward to reading this book. And i was not disappointed.
Megan own words are that this is a dark and twisty captive book and she was right. It is not a book for everyone, because here is humiliation, pet play, shock collars, and there are capture and non-con themes through out. This book has a very dark atmosphere.
What I loved about this book is when the author is able to create a character you hate in the beginning, but love at the end. Xan was a sadistic creepy basterd and I hated how he treated Blythe. But slowly there were glimpses of another side of Xan, a kinder and caring side.
Blythe was a great character, she was smart and feisty, but also had doubts about herself that everyone has. She is human.
This is an amazing addition tot the series. You won’t regret reading it.

This is a sizzling hot book! ⚡️ If you like your alpha males incredibly stern and harsh, then this is the book for you. Read the warnings though, this definitely has some capture and non-con themes. But if you are open or enjoy reading about those things, then hold on! Based on the other books in the series I'd been waiting to see what stern, unyielding Dr. Xan Breckett ("You will call me Master" to Blythe) would be like, and Ms. Michaels did not let me down. Blythe was feisty; will her captor break her? Will he only met out harsh discipline, or can they come to find love? This book does not disappoint. There is even a hint that we might see more in future books... That would be wonderful!!! Don't pass on this sizzling hot, dark, twisty, five star book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love the continuation of the Earth girls on Prak 're. This one is heavy on the overbearing alien master but makes up for it with intricately detailed reward scenes. There was a lot of overwriting, I got bored sometimes with that and the darkness was sometimes a little over the top. Ganza is a character that just creeper me out, picturing Mrs. Butterworth or Mama Claus in any kind of sexual situation just kind of skeeves me out, considering Blythe's age in comparison to hers. I appreciate this story as it applies to helping to complete the Earth girl story. Blythe is a a badass chick and her character, at least was super relatable, normal in her reactions even.

Holy hotness Batman! A dark and sexy read! Zan, a huge, hot, alpha knows just what his little human pet Blythe needs, and that's a firm hand, belt, paddle, anything that can redden her naughty butt! Blythe crashes her ship on the planet Pra'kir and ends up being placed as a ward to Zan. Unfortunately for her, this is a punishment alternative to prison. This author does a phenomenal job of describing the characters and what they are feeling. An awesome read, just make sure you have someone or something on standby to help cool you down!

Great sci-fi romance

Xan is chosen to foster one of the aliens from Earth. Blythe is a sassy Earthling. She does not want to submit to anyone let alone the alien she is entrusted to.

Strong Master/slave storylines. Great read. Part of a series that includes the other ship mates.

I really enjoyed the first three books in the Captives of Pra'kir series but this one was just awful. Xan gives her electric shocks, severe beatings and anal torture (in reality this would have resulted in bleeding and tearing) - and that is just on the first day! I found him abusive rather than dominant and them supposedly falling in love by the end of the book was completely unconvincing. He showed zero sympathy for the fact that Blythe had survived a severe spaceship crash onto an alien planet, been abused whilst in prison and her fear at being handed off to a strange alien doctor - who, by the way, also carried out non-consensual medical tests on her. He seemed to think he had a legal right to rape her both vaginally and anally, which was not the impression I got of the ward/foster system in the first three books of the series. I hated Xan with a passion and only read until the end to see if his character developed - it didn't. I have zero interest in reading book #6 which is a followup to this story - Xan is trying to see if he can make a baby with Blythe medically as she is infertile. I know this is fantasy romance/bdsm but I found this book very hard to read - some of the things he did to her would cause serious and possibly permanent damage. Lots of triggers - this book and Xan are far harsher than the other books in the series.

This was plainly abusive. I scrolled fast through the book after the first punishment. Punishment…no I should say beating, abuse, rape. This was non-consensual. And the judge from the 9….letting him examine her in the end was just plain disgusting. Xan punished her for wanting privacy by walking her in a leash outside like a dog. And that was really all she was to him, an animal. She was a little over the top wanting to bite everyone, but in a way she was going crazy from the abuse. That’s all I can say is that she went crazy. Falling in love with her abuser and letting him tattoo you ho-ha and not even dimming the pain because he got off on seeing her take the pain for him. This isn’t a romance. Consent. Look it up. That isn’t what this was at all. It was abuse.

The kink is on point

The humiliation and objectification were really well done, along with great pet play.
While this can be read as a standalone, it’s much better in context with the rest of the series.
Xan, aka Doc, has fostered the human alien Blythe, who’s known as the more unruly and wild of the group. Something the good doctor looks forward to controlling.
And he does, quite well.

Intense

This is the most intense book in the series . It deals with the complete immersion in a pet,slave/Master BDSM. It isn't for the faint of heart . I had to read it twice and think about it before I fated the book. The author is good tells a good story . I just had a bit of a problem with the complete domination of Blyth.

This series of books is about a group of earth based women who accidentally crash land on a planet from a different solar system. The crash causes quite a bit of damages and killed some citizens of this alien planet. The people are outraged and really want the group executed. However one important citizen wants one of the group to help him and he argues that since they are under 35, the age of majority on this planet, they should be treated as wards and fostered to be trained in how they should behave now. The males on this planet are dominants and believe in harsh punishments. Right there we start into non consensual sex and punishments. Xan is also a sadist and Blythe is a biter so she is severely punished. I was exasperated in the first two thirds by all the silly writing mistakes and in the last third by the severe punishments, the tattooing of her genitals and the fact she had her anus bleached in the first part of the book, all to make her more appealing to a man. I am tired of women having to change their physical appearance to make themselves appealing to men. We need to be skinny, we need big breasts and we might also need buttock implants plus our lips injected to make our mouths more attractive. I find it very sad that a woman writer would add bleaching and genital tattooing to young women’s already long list of things needed to be considered alluring and appealing. Must we be our own worst enemies. This is definitely not the first book I have read that incorporates sadism but this is the first where there is no safe word and no consent. I like some of this author’s other work but would have given this only two stars excepts her writing improves in the last third but I still have reservations about the content. These books may be written for a so called mature audience but who is going to police that?!

There are a few really glaring problems with this book in the series. First, certain details of the story have to be consistent in every book, such as the number of Pra'Kirians killed, whether or not the women went before the judges or not and finally, the name of the planet: Pra'kir, and the name of the town: Endermere. Second, Blythe wasn't given a rational reason to bite such as forced oral sex. That would make the behavior believable. Xan was not developed enough to be sympathetic so the growing relationship between them made no sense either. However, the continuation of the series and the end of the book was good.

Because my kinks don't include electrocution, I stopped when the shock collar came out. If your kinks do, you may like this book. For me, I don't see the appeal.

ETA: To the reviewer who said that other readers might have rated this book more highly if it had included disclaimers regarding BDSM practices, uhm, no. There were NO BDSM practices in this book. You see, in order to have BDSM, you need consent; without it, it's just abuse (as any true BDSM practitioner will tell you).

BDSM Alien Captive

Sci-fi. Bdsm. Dark. Alien. Captive from a ship wreck. Doctor Dom. The girls from wreck are split up into "foster homes". Bratty biter goes to a dominant doctor who will tamer her or else.
