Solange St. Brice is my alter ego. I do most of my writing under a different name, so there is not much to write here, other than to say, I love traveling, to Europe especially. I love London. I have a couple degrees but have since retired from full time work, although my writing keeps me very busy. I'm looking to adopt a dog; I have yet to decide on the breed. I live with my husband, who is my best friend. I have a book due out any day now. When I develop enough self-confidence, I'll merge my alter ego with myself and then you'll have the 'real' me. oxoxox
The story follows Sabrina, a woman who has just received news that her husband, who left her to join the army, is reported MIA. Uncertain if her husband is dead or alive, Sebrina gets on with her life the best she can. She starts a relationship with Michael, a respected surgeon at her place of work. Their relationship gains momentum as the story progresses. There are a few dumps in the road, but that is par for the course.
I liked how the story flowed, and it was easy to follow. The story is told in the first person POV, and from Sabrina's perspective. A good, solid read, and the sexual aspects weren't overdone.
If you like a highly emotional romance, look no further than this book.
The Surgeon's Wife by Solange St. Brice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WOW! How can you not enjoy everything about this story. It's charming romance story The Surgeon's Wife is about Sabrina and Michael. There is lots of drama and it's very emotional. I enjoyed reading this story, Michael is a surgeon but he promised his twin he would take care of his family. He is a surgeon at the same hospital where Sabrina works as a physical therapist they havn't been married long. So when she is informed he is missing in the Middle East. Sabrina feels the despair of him not coming home. Sabrina can't believe that Micheal is attracted to her that why she is insecure. But Micheal has been love with Sabrina a while. This story will have your emotion all over the place.Sabrina tries to help him as best as she could. But soon she opened her love to him and then he open to her. I could have read more about this couple, even after I finished the book. It's a wonderful read, I couldn’t put down my reader until I finish it. I absolutely adored and enjoyed the characters in this book! Micheal and Sabrina married is a long way from what they dream. This book has a little bit of everything. It has a Intriguing concept, and it's an excellent read. I was knocked over by this story, trying to figure out what would happen next. There are parts that bought tears to my eyes and parts that I know true love don't run smooth. I enjoy Solonge St.Brice writing style. She weaves a plot that pulls the reader out into the story. This is a amazing story that will make you turn the pages faster and faster until you read the end. I give this FIVE HEARTS! I would recommend this to everyone who loves a great romance with awesome characters.
Even though life was not the best for Sabrina Jones, it just took a turn for the worst when she received a letter from the military letting her know that her husband is considered MIA. She had already come to the realization that she wasn’t in love with her husband and she should have waited before she married him, but she was willing to wait for him and try to make her marriage work. She never expected him not to come home, even if that thought was in the back of her mind. Now she needs to start thinking of a future without him in it. Taking on additional job for the extra pay is what she needs, but she never expected that the new department head would ask for her help.
Dr. Michael Rosenberg is the newest fantasy to most of the nurses and aide’s, but Sabrina stayed away from the hungry look she saw in his eyes. She would accept the offer of the job to help his mother, but that would be the end of their interactions. When her husband is listed as deceased by the military, she knows it is time to move on, and Michael appears to be the direction in which she is moving. He wants her in his life, and in his bed. Sabrina is introduced to a passion that she didn’t’ know and she begins to feel that she might have finally found her place. But there are things that Sabrina is not aware of, and misunderstandings abound. Can misunderstandings be overcome or will the drama that invades Michael and Sabrina’s lives tear them apart?
THE SURGEON’S WIFE was a cute story. There were times that I felt the characters fell flat, but the story line would pick up and the characters chemistry would pick back up. The writing of the story was well done and the book was in Sabrina’s POV only, which is a nice change for me. I did have a hard time liking Sabrina at times, but then in the next scene I would end up empathizing with her and liking her more. I was slightly disappointed with the way the situation with her husband was handled in the book, but that did not detract from the rest of the book for me. If you want a quick cute read, give this book a try.
The Surgeon's Wife is a truly enjoyable romance. Sabrina, has just been informed her husband is MIA in the Middle East and, despite the realisation their short marriage had already crumbled, she still cares for him and the news is devastating. Michael is a surgeon at the same hospital where Sabrina works as a physical therapist and has been attracted to her for longer than he will admit.
Sabrina is in awe of Michael, he does after all move in far loftier medical circles than she and is surprised, therefore, when he offers her a private job to work with his mother for an hour each evening. As circumstance throws them together, Sabrina tries to fight her burgeoning feelings for Michael but cannot deny she is falling hopelessly in love with him, a love that Michael appears to reciprocate. Romance, however, rarely runs smoothly and their chance of a HEA seems thwarted by misunderstandings, jealousy and unexpected reunions to name but a few.
Solonge St.Brice's characters are wonderfully complex. Sabrina has to wade though so many chaotic emotions, loss, grief, despair and vulnerability, which slowly morph into an all consuming love, bringing with it the fear it too will be wrenched from her grasp. Michael knows what he wants but he also has outside factors to contend with. Although both characters are innately strong and spirited, they are far from perfect and St.Brice lets them make mistakes, the same mistakes we all make when our hearts are at stake - and uncertainties fester. And no, I'm not giving away any spoilers - you'll just have to read the book!
This story has all the feels and I really enjoyed it. A 5 star read for me!
I received an ARC of this book and this review is my honest opinion.
This is a very enjoyable read it would my first by Solange St. Brice and no it wont be my last , from the blurb I was curious to see how this story was going to go and how refreshing it is . The characters are really likable , the story line had me on the edge of my seat to see what was going to go down there were a couple of surprises that I did not see coming , the sex scenes are smoking hot , and the growing attraction for the hero and heroine is really intense . Sabrina is a interesting heroine she is going through something difficult and has no one who understands what she is going through until she meets Michael who is a mcHOT doctor who I wouldn't kick out of my bed but she is hesitate to start anything witch is understandable but the hero makes it to were she can't resist him for long . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero = 10 heroine = 10 secondary characters = 10 Chemistry = 10 steam = 8 romance = 9 humor = 4 darkness level = 6 enjoyment = 9 angst = 6 action = 4 story line = 9 mystery = 5 character development = 10 pacing = 9 Plot = 9 cover = 10 stars = 4.5 author = 8 would I recommend this book = yes would I re read this book = yes would I read future books by this author = yes
As a former military service member, right off the first chapter, I was disappointed. St. Brice has the husband leaving to enlist in the military. LEAVING. You don’t leave to enlist and are gone for 9 months. Then, her husband is MIA, and she gets a letter. No door contact, which isn’t done. St. Brice finds an excuse for that, but it’s still not done. Plus, the female protagonist is struggling to make ends meet on her measly pay. Where is her husband’s pay? It’s like he doesn’t get one.
Moving on from that, I shook that first chapter off and continued. The books starts out okay, the feelings are realistic. Yet, I had to stop and reread the synopsis and look at the title because I wasn’t sure I was reading the same book. Halfway through, real drama started. Now we were getting to what the synopsis hinted at, and I was really intrigued, but I was starting to wonder why even mention the husband who was MIA in the military. It gets to that, and it’s not the climax one would expect. That whole scene happens in less than a chapter, and then the book is over. HEA.
Sabrina wasn’t a likable character. She started off all right, she said all the right things, but her whole character went downhill as the book continued. Her interactions with Michael’s sister-in-law were petty. There wasn’t a lot of chemistry between Sabrina and Michael, so I would have dropped him right away when the sister-in-law came into the picture. I wouldn’t want to deal with the drama he had in his life. That might not be fair to Michael, but the guy was kind of an idiot.
This book has so much potential, just the delivery wasn’t there. I liked the storyline and feel it could be built on more. The dialogue felt generic as the story continued and the characters lost their voice. The writing itself was well done. There were hardly any edits, and the internal flowed. I hate, hate, hate giving negative reviews, but I’m honest to a fault.
Ahhh, (deep sigh) the power of true love, the intensity of attraction, and the desire to be with the one that makes you feel complete, this and so much more is all rolled into The Surgeon's Wife by the one and only Solange St. Brice. Sabrina and Michael, two people who were never supposed to be together, but sometimes that's not how fate works. I think a majority of us could relate to Sabrina, her insecurity of having someone like Michael wanting her the way that he does. Your heart will have flutters with all the drama that this read entails...you WILL be rooting for these two to be together forever. With great characters, a storyline that pulls you in, this book is one that is hard to put down, or in my case, it was difficult to walk away from my laptop without wanting to read just one more page. I would recommend this read to anyone looking for a romance that will steal your heart and your breath... this is one that you will be staying up all night to finish. Congrats, Solange, for making me a believer that romance is still alive, even if it is only in books.
Sabrina Jones is a physical therapist assistant. Her husband enlisted in the service not long after they married, which makes her feel abandoned.. She doesn't do alone well and when her husband is reported MIA, she quickly assumes he is dead. She soon begins seeing a surgeon who works at the hospital. They have their ups and downs due to misunderstandings.. This is a good story, but I felt there was something missing, but I'm not sure what. To be honest Sabrina irritated me. lol There were some military references that didn't make sense to me as well. ***edited to add*** After receiving clarification on the issues I had with the military references I have upgraded my rating. My assumptions clouded my reasoning. Sabrina did irritate me but that was due to my lack of understanding. I am going to reread this book with a more open mind. ****
This is a new author to me, and I look forward to reading more of her work. Sabrina is given the news that her husband is MIA in the Middle East, but although they had not been married that long, their marriage was already in trouble. Sabrina is a physical therapist, and Michael who is attracted to her, is a surgeon in the same hospital. No spoilers, you really need to read this for yourself! This is an enjoyable and charming story, which has drama and emotion. The only down side for me was that at times the lack of detail had me a tad confused, but that is just my opinion. I voluntarily reviewed and ARC of this book!
The Surgeon's Wife is a great romantic read. Sabrina is juggling work and being a newlywed when her husband joins the military and is shipped off to war. In his absence, she begins to question whether or not they were meant to be together. When she receives news that he's missing in action, she's both horrified and relieved. Three months later, she's told that the military considers him killed in action. Which opens up the way for Sabrina's attraction to her boss and co-worker, Michael, a well-respected surgeon. But all is not smooth for the lovers. I don't want to spoil any of the surprises, but you won't want to miss this book. 5 STARS!
I'm not normally a romance lover but with so many affordable ebooks on the market, who can resist stocking up on a variety of genres? And I'm so glad I picked up a few in the romance category. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. It was very well written, well edited with real characters that quickly sucked me in. The story itself was very human. I could see any number of couples finding similar obstacles in the path to love. This one contained a stinker of a sister-in-law that juiced the atmosphere. Makes you glad to have the life you do knowing the world is full of sickies that plague other peoples lives.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This is a good book that builds upon the highs and lows presented by the plot, the missing in action husband leaving his wife in a limbo of not knowing whether she is a widow or a wife awaiting her husband. It gets complicated by the hero with a former sister in law in a house share, the widow of the hero's late brother. She is determined to have the hero for herself and to push out the heroine. In the end, all the loose ends get tied up. The missing in action husband went AWOL, and so a divorce must be sought, and the former sister in law is vanquished. Then the hero and heroine can have their HEA.

Sabrina just found out her estranged husband is missing in action. As she struggles to make sense of her feelings, she meets a dazzlingly handsome doctor with mischievous eyes who seems to be interested in her. He's the kind of man she's always dreamed of--and he wants her. You'll cheer for sweet, hardworking Sabrina as she overcomes the obstacles between her and true love.
This book has a lot of twists and turns. It has a villain you'll love to hate and heroes you'll just plain love. (It's also very hot.) Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.
If you like complex characters and steamy romance, you're going to like Surgeon's Wife. The author has done a great job dealing with complicated emotional issues through the personalities of her characters and the situations they find themselves in. And to spice it all up, there's a villain with some great "bad guy" traits you'll despise as much as you love the heroine. A great read you can sink your heart into.
The Surgeon's Wife was an emotional roller coaster that any true romantic will LOVE! The story features Sabrina Jones whose husband is reported MIA in the Middle East, and Michael whose twin brother recently died. The whole book I was rooting for Sabrina and Michael to be together and have a happy ending. It's a story that shows how difficult love and loss can be and will make you believe that fate does exist.
This is a beautiful contemporary romance that hit all the right notes for me: There’s passion, love, angst, conflict, jealousy, and the happy ever after. What more can a girl want. I love Sabrina and Michael’s (Dr. Rosenberg) characters. They are perfect for each other. This is my new book boyfriend!
Her husband has gone missing presume dead. Now a year later she has moved on. But when she starts to have feelings for someone she works with there seems to be married. But even when that is cleared up there happens to be more to keep them apart. Will she get her HEA ending?
The Surgeons Wife is a Romantic Masterpiece. The author has done an excellent job creating complex characters that you really care about as the reader. It is extremely well written filled with love, lust, bad guys, heartache and an all around great story. I highly recommend it.
Love this book. Read it in one night. Everything was going too well and I kept waiting for the show to drop. And did it. Great chemistry between Michael and Sabrina and lots of hot sex. Purchase this book to find out who will be the Surgeon's Wife.
Romance and several twists along the way. Steamy and a great read. She hasn't had it easy. But she keeps on trying to better her situation and a side job is just what the doctor ordered.
WOW! Solange has found a cheerleader in me. I love that story. It was touchingly romantic while at the same time, sizzling hot. It hit all the right notes for me, passion, unrequited love, angst, betrayal and then more passion. I would have liked to get to follow Sabrina and Dr. Rosenberg into their marriage, but I realized this was a novella, and everything is cut to the chase, but what a chase!
The Surgeon's Wife by Solange St. Brice is a standalone contemporary romance novel. Meet Sabrina Jones, she´s a physical therapy assistant and her husband is MIA from the military. And there is Dr. Michael Rosenberg, he´s a successful doctor at the hospital. He lost his twin years ago and helps his sister in law and niece. He has his eyes set on Sabrina, wants to date her. She hesitates.
The Surgeon´s Wife had me well entertained, I liked the characters and I liked the words. The sex scenes are uber hot. The Surgeon's Wife is told in a single POV. I give 4 Stars and thank you Solange St. Brice .
