I'm truly baffled by all of the 4 and 5 star ratings on Amazon and Goodreads for this book. While some of the bits of trivia were informative or entertaining, some were patently untrue, or outright ridiculous. For example, based on the 2016 population of Africa, if 250 Million people are dying from Sleeping Sickness carried by the TseTse Fly each year in Africa (actual figure from 2015 is 3500), then there would be nobody left in Africa in under 10 years. Could also use some proofreading, bad sentence structure and grammar made it a little hard to read and sometimes a little difficult to understand the point.
Some of the 'facts' are not factual at all, and this thing desperately needed an editor as there were scads of grammar and other mistakes. There were many interesting tidbits, however, and I enjoyed them.
This is a fun, interesting, and entertaining book of various unrelated facts. It made for quick, easy reading, and due to the nature of the book, you can easily read a few pages here and there without losing any meaning. Great variety of interesting, informative, and odd facts.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Yes, the facts w ere great, but I had one small problem and that was sentence structure. I am not an English major, but there were a few places that I had to re-read a fact to get it. However as trivia goes I liked it.
