From USA Today Bestselling author, Willow Summers, the exciting continuation of Jenna and Josh's story.
With a gunman on their heels, Jenna and Josh must seek shelter off the beaten track. But their time in safety is fleeting. When the gunman zeroes in on their location, the pair must fight to survive.
With Jenna's safety in his hands, Josh must finally brave the horrors of his past. Aided by his former Navy buddy and his father, the General, he'll take on the worst that organized crime can throw at them.
The question is, will it be enough?

I've come to the conclusion that this series just isn't for me. I love the author's Warrior Chronicles series (that she writes under the name K.F. Breene) so I fully expected to love these books too but they're just not working for me.
I didn't love the first book but I couldn't even finish this one. The heroine acts like a stupid brat by refusing to follow simple rules that are meant to keep her safe (like stay away from the windows and don't go out alone because there's a sniper after her!). She even has a tantrum and refuses to wash her own dishes because she doesn't like being told what to do. I get being independent and not wanting to be told what to do but FFS act like an adult when someone is trying to save your life!
I might have got over her brattish behaviour if the hero didn't make things even worse by acting like an utter arsehole towards her to punish her for not following the rules. She's confessed her worst fears to him like being locked in dark places (the way she was punished as a child) so of course his reaction when she disobeys him is to lock her in the attic. Really? That's the way a grown man is going to deal with her? Yes she was acting like a child but that doesn't excuse his actions either. Then he starts force feeding her chocolate cake as another punishment (she's annorexic!) and I was just done with the book.
I only read the first 15% but I've gone from liking the main characters to hating them both and hoping the sniper is successful! I'm sure they end up sorting out their issues and falling madly in love by the end of the series but I won't ever be able to believe in a HEA for these two so I'm done.
Toxic. That's the only word I can find to describe this relationship, and honestly if I knew Jenna personally, if she was in my friend circle or family, I would do everything in my power to get her as far away from that abusive man as I could.
THIS IS A 3 PART STORY WITH TWO CLIFFHANGERS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE CLIFFHANGERS, DON'T READ THIS BOOK!
They get worse in this book, believe it or not.
The H breakdown 15% Obnoxious 25% Nice 10% Whiney 50% Overly Aggressive/Possessive/* * at times, physically aggressive / abusive
At one point, the H is choking the h and her best friend makes excuses for it!
The h is still irredeemable in my eyes. Headstrong to the point of TSTL. Stand in front of a window or disobey simple orders meant to keep you alive... because you don't like it when someone tells you what to do! Really?
I will finish out the series only to see how it ends.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.
The second piece of this three-part tale wastes no time linking to Unexpected Hero, with the sniper’s handler’s annoyance the target was missed and a plan to redouble their efforts. Meanwhile, Erika and Jenna have split with Jenna in Josh’s care for her safety.
At the forefront was Josh and Jenna’s nascent, rocky romance suffering from paralyzing parental issues, battles for dominance including a trifecta of meanness, bratty-ness and ridiculousness with a (un)healthy dose of adolescent angst. After her boss says the project’s going forward, Jenna nastily jumps at the chance to leave hurting everyone in the process.
Sigh! Regardless of the less than stellar plot, the heroine’s supposed strong independence reads more like selfish, petty bullying, the hero really isn’t, not to mention the ‘bad guys’ seem to be an afterthought more often than not. To my taste, tighter editing and actual adult leads (for an adult read) would’ve made this a more satisfying read. Rating: 2stars
This is the second book in this series, and is awesome. It kept me awake until the end. I just love hov Willow adds humor to lighten the tensinon between the characters. I like stubernes contest betwen main characters, it is really funny. This book made me laugh and cry again, in a good waey. W.S. has such sense for intimate sceenes, and o boy they get you hot. I admit sometimes this book made me angry I just wanted to have a word with Jenna and Josh. I hope this wild ride continues in the next book.
Loved this hot and sexy book with a fun spin on hiding from the bad guys theme. This whole trilogy was a binge worthy read, that I couldn't put down. I loved how Josh helped Jenna learn to accept her feelings and emotions and Jenna helped Josh absolve himself of some of the guilt he felt from his past. Their besties, her boss and both their fathers made for an interesting cast of different personalities.
This is so good. I enjoyed the drama, the sassy dialogue between friends, the family interaction between father and son. This kept my interest from beginning until the very last page. So glad I can go to the very next page. I never read trilogies until I can read all of them one after the other. Highly recommend this one
I was so excited when I saw that all three of these books would be released at once... the story of these Woman is compelling with all the right twist and turns.. I cannot wait to read the last book! Happy reading
Another explosive read from Josh, Jenna, Jax and Erika this awesome foursome can not stay out of trouble it keeps finding them and we get to follow along the path and see where it leads which is always interesting.
I loved this series. Book #2 was yet another departure from the typical genre definitions, in the very best way. Exciting story with freakin fantastic characters. I love Jenna, in all of her many facets.
Action packed. Can not wait to read the next book. Want to see if everyone finds their happy ever after. Wonder if more people are going to die. Will the building get built? So many questions. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
Jenna is one of the meanest and most stubborn heroines I’ve ever encountered. She has a razor tongue and can be really cruel. But I do still like her and am interested in her evolution as a character.
They are soo abusive to each other! I can’t stand either of them. Jax is the only character I remotely like. The narrator is over the top too, way too dramatic. Happy reading/listening!
Jenna and Josh are on the run. Trying to separate their feelings from the situation is proving difficult. Throw in friends and parents and you have a lovely mess.
I am loving this series so much I have just read books 1 & 2 in about 4 hours and now need to read book 3. It is an addictive series and I have to find out the ending!
Definitely keeps you on ur toes. Like the main female character, glad it isn't a weepy woman like the friend. I like that the story has been stretched out over three books. It's hard to find a serial like this. You can tell by reading the books that the writers are experienced and it doesn't sound like a valley girl wrote it....thank u!!!! It was also nice not tripping over misspelled wording or grammatical errors.
Josh has volunteered to protect Jenna, being an ex SEAL he has all the qualifications and he is in his home turf, the woods. Josh's best friend Jax, a Police Officer and ex SEAL is protecting Jenna's best friend Erika.
But will they be enough to see the girls to safety? Will they encounter more than they bargained for?
This is book 2 of the Skyline Trilogy and it certainly did not disappoint. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat but will give you laughter along the way as well. You will love it.
The characters I fell in love with in Book 1 are revealed in more depth in Book 2. The conflicts and problems with their situation and relationship continue to grow. While the second book isn't as light-hearted as the first, it makes up for it by revealing even more of the emotions, pasts, and motivation of our hero and heroine. The heroine's snarky personality continued to make me laugh out loud in this book. I especially loved her insight, humor and intelligence in handling two alpha males, from the same family. And FINALLY, the author let the heroine learn from her previous mistakes on what to do when fleeing from the villains! I can't wait to read Book 3 to see how everything is resolved!
Underwear from then on. It was a good rule. – Jenna in Unexpected Danger
That about sums it up.
Jenna is strong willed, defiant, funny in her own right and refusing to admit she has feelings – any type of feelings at all but especially any feelings toward Josh.
When Josh said he would do whatever it takes to keep Jenna safe she did not grasp the gravity of his words. Josh took advantage all her fears to force her to stay in line, something no one other than her best friend Erika could ever do before and something no one else would dream of doing to formidable Jenna. What Josh didn’t comprehend was that his punishments would only empower her more and that could put Jenna’s very life in jeopardy.
Even better than book one. Book two picks up almost exactly where the first left off and continues with all the action, intrigue, and chemistry we've already come to expect form Jenna and Josh. We also get to see some of the sparks between Jax and Erika play out. Unexpected Danger focuses the spotlight on the traumas that are keeping Jenna and Josh from fully committing to each other while delivering strong, page-turning suspense and action sequences. It's a sure bet that I'll be reaching for book three to find out what the bad guys' final play will be. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
I struggle with trilogies in general because I find that authors usually just stretch out the plot and add unnecessary angst to get to 3 books. In fact, book 2 of a trilogy is usually my least favorite. I'm not sure if that is true for this series or not. I like the characters, but I struggled with them at times in this book. I was surprised by some of the things Jenna and Josh did and said to hurt each other, and some parts were hard to read. I'm also a little torn on Erika and Jax. I like them, but it seems we get superficial glimpses into their relationship. I can't decide if I want more of them or if they are just taking up space. I am looking forward to book 3!
