A new beginning is on the horizon…but it may already be seeing its end.
Celine is thrilled to be the first nutritionist and amongst the first civilians to colonize Albaterra, though she has no idea what to expect. After an alliance was formed between humans and the A’li-uud, NASA began recruiting willing volunteers to settle in designated wards across the alien planet, and she signed up for the fifth wave with her best friend. It was the opportunity of a lifetime and an adventure that was sure to be literally out of this world.
Lokos, War Chief of Albaterra’s mountain kingdom, spends his days combat training and his nights hunting dangerous predators. He is a fearsome warrior and an unforgiving leader, but he will fight ceaselessly for his people. Then he meets Celine. Her curvy figure, so different from the muscled and angular bodies of female A’li-uud, and luminous intellect enchant him to no end. Soon, he realizes there is something else for which he will fight ceaselessly.
When Celine’s ship is sent crashing to Albaterra without warning, she is certain she won’t live to see the future of A’li-uud and human relations. The sharp, capable Lokos is at the scene, and Celine finds herself turning to him in hard times from that day forward. As a leader, Lokos considers it his duty to assist the graceful human as best he can, but, as the duty becomes desire, his intentions shift. When it becomes clear the spaceship crash was no accident, Celine again questions her future at the colony—along with the future of everyone else—and Lokos must find a way to live up to his role as War Chief and protect his people while keeping Celine alive.
Will Celine and Lokos be able to survive the new threat, or will they meet an untimely end?

In this book nothing happens on The Earth. Celine is one of the colonist that come to Albaterra to live there along with Alines. Lokos is a War Chief in his kingdom, he is very male and dominant. I enjoyed this one as Celine wasn't only damsel in distress but she tried to do what she found right at the moment. Lokos was iritating at some places but well his culture was like that. Really nice Alien Romance.
Another page turner from Ashley Hunt. Examples of putting your beliefs into practice. If you believe this then this.... Can you live what you say you believe?
I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Lokos is pretty standard alien romance/paranormal romance fare. I’ll go into plot/likes in a moment, but first can I talk about this cover? It’s established early on that the alien race featured in this book, the A’li-uud, are a blue-skinned species with white/colorless hair. So why is the half-naked, muscled man on the cover white-skinned with darker/obviously-not-white facial hair? I realize that authors don’t design their own book covers, but if the alien species the book is about has very specific features, I would have enjoyed the whole presentation (book cover/plot/characters) more if the alien species hadn’t been white-washed for the cover.
Lokos is the fourth book in the Albaterra alien romance series by Ashley L Hunt. The author provides a nice blurb at the beginning to catch you up on the big things that have happened prior to this book, so this book definitely can be read as a standalone. I have not read any other books in the Albaterra series, and I had no problems following along with the plot or the strange terminology.
This story focuses on Lokos, a War Chief, and Celine, a nutritionist who travels to Albaterra as part of NASA’s colonization program. When Celine’s spaceship is bombed by the Novai, another alien species, Lokos saves her and immediately feels something for her and claims her as his. The reader follows Lokos and Celine as they explore their attraction to each other, all while Lokos tries to keep Celine safe from any further attacks by the Novai.
As I mentioned, Lokos is your cookie-cutter alien romance story. Alien and human meet, fall for each other, then have to overcome other aliens or societal rules or the planet itself before finding their happily-ever-after. Lokos is well-written, and would be a fairly quick read for new readers or series regulars alike. If you’re into paranormal/alien romance, Lokos and the rest of the series would be a good read for you. Just ignore the cover and the model who looks nothing like Lokos or the A’li-uud species.
Nutritionist Celine Lemaire and her best friend Donna are excited to be the first civilians to colonize the A’li-uud planet of Albaterra. Unfortunately the spaceship they are travelling on crash lands after being bombed. When War Chief Lokos witnesses a spaceship crash nearby, he follows the sound of screams on the ship and rescues an unconscious woman engulfed in flames. When Celine wakes up in the infirmary gets a visit from a handsome A’li-uud alien, she asks “Who are you?” and is told “I am Lokos, War Chief of Montemba. You belong to me.” Lokos explains to the curvy and beautiful Celine "The alliance agreement dictates each human be assigned an A’li-uud as a mentor during the early stages of the integration process. It eases the transition from life on Earth to Albaterra." When the Novai intercept the A’li-uud communication channels to make threats, Lokos commands Celine to stay inside her dorm. Lokos is upset when he catches Celine in the market and she tells him "Contrary to what you think, I don’t belong to you.” Later, back in Celine's dorm, Lokos proves she's wrong and that she does belong to him. But the threat is still out there and when the Novai attack, will Lokos be able to keep Celine safe?
Ashley L. Hunt delivers an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
A great bunch of characters, some unexpected twists, sleep is overrated! The books in this series continue to pull me deeper into tier world and I am constantly marveling at the ways that this author brings real world issues into this beautiful fictionalized world that she has created. In this one, I interpreted a correlation between the explosion of the colonist ship with an act of terrorism. There's a hero, and the whole world has to decide how to live with and fight against an unknown threat. I love the how the story arc is so seamless from one book in the series to the next, but you could still comfortably read them out of order and have a satisfying experience. The characters of Celine and Lokos are both likable, with Celine showing more with in her dialogue with the other characters than heroines in previous books in this series. Lokos was a likable character, much more personable than all of the other leading male characters so far and carried over from Dane's book. I am glad that he got a chance to get his earth girl mojo going, even though it's a long process with misunderstandings and world changing twists thrown in the way. Bring on the next one, I am ready!
I only have one complaint with this series. That is the citizens of Albaterra are different shades of blue and the covers look human. I would love to see the different shades of skin from the different kingdoms. Aside from that, this is one of my favorite series. I wondered how Lokos would interact with humans after his only brother was killed on Earth. I guess after he saved Celine's life he would be a bit more engaged. It is rather funny, because Lokos does NOT have much of a sense of humor, however Celine finds it way down in there. My heart goes out to her. It's just one blow after another since she arrived. First the enemy attack on her ship, then the human colony is put on lockdown, then moved to another kingdom and even she's even kidnapped. Will she ever get a break? Lokos is there the whole time saving her butt. The feelings they have just keep getting stronger. With Lokos being a War Chief, he has to be on the front line of the enemy confrontation.
Great fun read! I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book for my honest review. This book is the fourth in the Albaterra series by Ashley Hunt. It can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the story line. Ashley writes with great description to set the scene. The story held my interest and flows nicely. Celine is coming to Albaterra as part of the new human colony. Her ship is bombed and Lokos saves her from being burned alive. Lokos is a very serious individual and dominant male. He is the War Chief of his people. Celine however is not someone to just meekly go along with everything he says. So sparks fly between the two. There are a couple of sexy scenes but nothing out of control. I would recommend this book.
From the beginning you never got past "You belong to me!" There is no such thing as half measure once Lokos rescued Celine. She was his and he made no bones about it over everyone else of the colonists who traveled to Albaterra. The men here are warriors of a different elk from human males. Celine finds this out at every turn. Being human means bucking the status quo, but Lokos shows her that what he says goes. You have to love an alpha male of this nature. Especially when a story leads to a HEA even when times look the worst.
I absolutely loved this book that Hunt has given us, as well as all the others in the series, and I would willingly continue reading whatever she puts out there for us.
Celine is a nutritionist and is on the first ship of colonists travelling to to colonise Albaterra. Lokos is the War Chief of Albaterra’s mountain kingdom and a fearsome warrior. Then he meets Celine who enchants him with her defiant mood even though he tries hard to only help her with understanding the planet and it's customs but it is a battle he cannot win. Unfortunately her ship crashes as it arrives after being attacked by another race and they both become entangled in a fight to stay alive and stay together.
I liked this story where he was trying really hard to resist her but in the end the attraction was too much. There was plenty of danger and drama in the story with the Novai part of the story and I enjoyed the ending even though it was a little rushed.
Great book again Ashley! I love this series. The book was well written and an easy read. The A'li-uud are the ones that are threatened by another species the Novain. The Novain are looking for a planet to call home and threaten to take Albaterra from the A'li-uud who have just started welcoming Humans to live on Albaterra. Lokos rescued Celine from her crashed ship which was bringing the first Humans to live on Albaterra. He has feelings for Celine and she likewise for him. They may have to fight to defend Albaterra from the Novain. Great story and can't wait for more! I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I received a free copy from the author; this is my honest review. I loved the way the author describes everything from the buildings to the snow, from the paths to the changing sun. I loved the development in the characters, not just the H/h but everyone around them also. I loved the way Lokos and Celine met and how they were able to grow their relationship from there on; it was plausible and totally believable. I loved the story. I loved the end of Chapter 4! The people of Albaterra are adjusting day by day, year by year. Like the previous books, the author gives us hints as who will be the next hero: Meet Khrel!
This is the fourth book in the Albaterra Mates series, Nasa has formed an alliance between humans and the Ali-uud on the alien planet of Albaterra. Celine has been recruited to move there and is the first nutritionist there. Their ship crashes upon landing and Celine is rescued and taken to the hospital by Lokos the war chief of the planet. Their attraction is strong and a paranormal romance begins. Lots of drama, suspense and danger as they fight off opposing forces. A well written book with great characters and lots of action. I have not read the first three books, but was able to follow along without being lost. A good read. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book.
After reading the other books, I was intrigued to see how Lokos would deal with a mate. He is the more serious one that takes his responsibilities very seriously. Celine attracts his attention right away when he saves her. He knows she is his mate and is very protective. Celine is not sure what to make of him but shares the attraction.
I enjoyed watching him fall for her. He always seems so in control and that he knows exactly what to do but she throws him off his game. Celine does stand up to him and I liked that she challenged him. They have great chemistry. I really am enjoying the series.
Enjoyable read for anyone liking the Alien mate theme. This is the first Albaterra Mates novel but I will be seeking more of them now that I have found the series. Lighthearted read great for the beach, with one steamy sex scene. The Alabeterra planet is getting it's first colonies and a few Earth women are included to in this crew. When the ship is attacked and crashes on the planet the War Chief Lokos is first on the scene to rescue two of the women from the fire in their pod and Lokos is immediately drawn to the injured nutritionist Celine. A war is looming on the horizon for the planet will it be destroyed and the romance between Lokos and Celine.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions. I'm loving this series and this is no exception I mean really who wouldn't a sexy hot alien, the plot has substance, lots of action, danger and romance. Lokos is an alpha dominant male absolutely yummy and Celine is sassy, there's lots of scintillation between them. I can honestly say I recommend this book.
Another great book by A Hunt. This Albaterra Series is very very good. The stories are well written, interesting and intriguing. They blend together as if one long story. The characters are so realistic you could almost believe that this whole series was in fact a true collection of real stories. A must have for anyone's reading or for their libary.
I received an arc of this book for a honest review.
This is the fourth book in the Albaterra series and they just keep getting better. I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading this book, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it and did not want to put it down!!
Lokos is a great alien sci-fi romance. Space colonist Celine meets alien war chief Lokos on the planet Albaterra and sparks fly both romantically and in the story. The main characters are both well written, as is the story. Plenty of both romance and action in this tale.
If you like alien romance or are new to the genre, I'd recommend this book and the whole Albaterra Mates series!
I received a arc of Lokos in return for a honest review..
I thought Duke was my favorite charter but not when I read this now its Lokos.the author has a way of writing that make you go wow if you love alien romance then this is a must read
This is the fourth book in the Albaterra Mates series and they just keep getting better. Filled with adventure, action, drama, instant attraction and love. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
It's another good story in Albaterra series. Very fascinating sci-fi alien story with a lot of action. Celine and Lokos have excellent chemistry. I'm looking forward to the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Fourth book in the series there is suspense , a new enemy this is just getting to be a series that once I start a book I do not want to put down. Looking forward to the next book . I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Wow, this series only gets better and better. The characters are strong, stunning, kind, powerful, and sexy. This book will not disappoint in anyway and holds your attention from beginning to end? A must buy and keep them coming.
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can't wait for more from this author. Received a FREE ARC copy to read volunteerly for an honest review.
I enjoyed this one. There was minimul extraneous drama and I got a kick out of the (redected due to spoilers) ending. ***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
I enjoyed this addition to the Albaterra series. I liked Lokos in the last book and he made a good hero for this one. We did not get to see any of the heroines from the past books in this one, though Dane made some appearances.
Lokos is horrified when the ship of settlers from Earth crashes as it is landing on Albaterra. He rushes to save the human settlers and finds two women in a compartment. Donna urges him to save Celine whose seat is in flames. He manages to free her, even as the fire burns his hands.
When Celine awakens in the infirmary she is grateful to be alive and is entranced by the alien Warrior who saved her. Lokos is surprised to discover that he has feelings for this human that he saved. She is spirited and doesn't seem to fear him at all. Being a fierce War Chief means he is respected and obeyed among his people, but Celine does not seem to grasp this distinction.
A new enemy will come forward, and Lokos may be forced to choose between his people and his attraction to Celine. Can he keep her safe or will she defy him to the bitter end?
I was given an ARC copy of this book by the author. My review is my own and is voluntary.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.” I found this quite an 😃enjoyable read by Ashley Hunt. This one with the war chief named Lokos and a little spitfire Celene a nutritionist and colonist. It started with action almost right from the beginning. It still amazes me how Ms. Hunt has created a whole new world and alien culture for us to enjoy and live vicariously through her stories. Can't wait for the next story. So go ahead read it. It won't disappoint. 👍👍
