I think I read this series out of order Book 2 before Book 1....LoL Who cares, they are standalone anyway and lovvvvvve these Fate Mountain Bears, I have read every single one from the beginning and they never get boring.

Buck Kincaid lovingly known as Saw Bear is the alpha Leland's second in the Clan, he is the rock of the Timber Bear Ranch. He has always been the hard working, responsible son, who kept everything afloat despite their father's irresponsible ways. Now Mate.com has matched him up with a mate after giving up any hope of getting one after 7 years of waiting. He can't wait to get his hands on her, but something is terribly wrong and she doesn't want to even see him! Buck is met head on with a ferocious she cat, he only hopes he can fix and resolve the situation like everything else in his life.

Maria Reyes has had a pretty traumatic childhood, her parents died when she was but a child, then she was kidnapped to be sold and rescued just in time. Now when she thinks her life is on the mend being the first human accepted into The Bright Institute for Shifters and taking classes on her passion Botany, she is attacked and left to fend for herself. Just when she thought the Fates had finally looked down on her and found her a mate, she is saddled with an out of control cat. Will she give in to the beast, or the stubborn, but delicious Buck?

BOOK TITLE: SAW BEAR: TIMBER BEAR RANCH #2
AUTHOR OF BOOK: SCARLETT GROVE
DATE READ: MAY 19, 2017

I WANT TO LIVE ON FATE MOUNTAIN WITH A BEAR SHIFTER OF MY OWN!!!!!!!

CAN THE LOVE OF A LOYAL MAN SAVE A TORMENTED WOMAN FROM A DANGEROUS GAME?

Scarlett Grove happens to be one of my favorite Paranormal Romance authors. I love her books and I especially love the world she created on Fate Mountain. I love how no matter which book is being written the other characters from the previous books seem to reappear bringing the spirit of FATE MOUNTAIN back to life. I could never get tired of Fate Mountain and the love that spreads through it. This is a book you do not want to miss.

Buck Kincaid oversees his family’s timber business which happens to be located on Fate Mountain. He is a hard worker and yet he is ready to settle down and find his fated mate. He signed up for Corey Bright’s dating app seven years ago and he is shocked that after 7 years he has found his mate. He is even more shocked and upset that the message he gets from her tells him that they can never meet.

Maria Reyes has had her share of troubles. She was kidnapped at a young age and was almost sold into human slavery. She was rescued by her sister Rosa and she fated mate Cadet Bear. Then she is attacked by a feral mountain lion shifter and now she doesn’t feel as though she deserves the love of man such as Buck Kincaid. She even attacks him when he accidentally finds her hiding in a cave on his property. She keeps trying to drive him away, but he won’t give up on her. He fell in love with her when he first saw her picture. Now he must save her when she is abducted. Can he find her in time to save her from the feral mountain lion and herself? If he finds her can he convince her that he loves her and that she can trust him?

No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy read and thoroughly enjoyed!!!

3.5 stars because the start was a little confusing, Buck (saw bear) is paired with Maria on mates.com then received a text from her saying something had happened and they couldn't be together, when he went to find her he finds she disappeared the night before but then we swap to Maria and it comes across as tho she's been living with this "incident" for quite some time not just since the night before ?
But that aside this is another enjoyable story from fate mountain, I did enjoy the storyline as a whole, the difficulties the mates had to face and the incident that caused the problems, it was interesting and resulted in uncertainty over whether the pair could ever be together.
Definitely worth a read.

Not my favorite of the Fate Mountain stories. Just OK.

Buck (H) is thrilled when he gets an alert from Mate.com that he has been matched to his mate. His emotions do a 180, though, when she texts him to say they can never be together and then disappears. Maria (h) was born a human, but was changed by a shifter bite. Her mountain lion is feral and angry, feeding off of Maria's painful past. Buck finds Maria hiding on his land, scared and sick. Her response to him is to attack and run. But will his patience and support eventually bring her and her lion down off the mountain?

Maria was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay underdeveloped. Apparently part of her story was covered in her sister's book, Cadet Bear. Apparently it also explains why she's so angry, why she's so distant from her sister, why she blames herself for so much of the trouble that's found her in her relatively short life. I say "apparently" because I haven't read it yet. So, as a result, Maria just seems very irrationally angry and resistant to any sort of improvement to her situation or help from outside. Advice? Read Cadet Bear before you read this one. Usually that's not as big a deal with Scarlett Grove's series. Yes, characters from Rescue Bears or Bear Patrol or one of her other series will make appearances (they all live on Fate Mountain, after all), but it's usually more in a cameo or small side character capacity. Here, it actually seemed to make a difference to how you react to Maria.

That being said, based on what I read here and only what I read here, I didn't like Maria. She's very angry, and yes, apparently she's gone through a lot. But she does nothing to change her circumstances. She's living in a shifter town, and actually attending a school/institute specifically for shifters. She's surrounded by people and resources she could turn to for help. Yet when she has her first out of control shift, she runs away. Doesn't even tell anyone - either the staff at the school she's attending or her sister, her only family. And then she stays running. She never seeks help. She pushes Buck away repeatedly, because she's too angry, too feral, too wild. But she does nothing to figure out her lion, to learn how to talk to it, work with it, to learn to temper her anger. Was she expecting things to change by just waiting it out, that it might run its feral nature out? It's like she just wanted to wallow in her misery! Because she certainly wasn't trying to change her circumstances. Again, some of this might be explained in Cadet Bear, but it's certainly not here.

I also was confused by Maria and her mountain lion. I mean, in all the Fate Mountain books - and I mean all of them - it's pretty much OTT insta-love Fated Mate recognition type romance. I mean, Buck fell head over heels just from seeing her photo. No interaction yet or anything - just a computer matchup and a couple photos and he's ready to pop the question. His bear is too. Compared to Buck, Maria meets him in person, they interact, he even tries to take care of her, and she has no recognition, no Fated Mate response. She actually attacks him instead. But then when the rogue lion attacks, she's all suddenly in sync with Buck and his bear? It was just a really sudden shift. Could have used some more development about how feral shifters act, what works and what doesn't (or even just an internal disclaimer that 'no one really knows how feral shifters will act, even around their mates').

Also undeveloped were the villains. The hyenas were just kinda mentioned randomly. I guess it keeps them in the thread of the Timber Bear Ranch stories, and it does introduce the fox shifter who will come into play in Jessie's book. But for this story, it just felt forced in, no real purpose. And actually kinda the same with the rogue lion. He was out of the story for so long, and then he shows up at the end just in time for the last fight scene. If there'd been a prologue or a scene or two with him and his motives or interacting with Maria... something. As it was, it felt kinda shoehorned in last minute, just to tie things up.

I did laugh when Maria took a bath in Buck's house at the end, when she's finally come in from the mountain. And she adds lemon verbena bath oil - it's actually specified. What pair of rugged, outdoorsy bachelors (a mechanic and a lumberjack) would stock lemon verbena bath oil in their bathroom? Just seemed like such an odd thing.

Alternating 3rd person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangles. While I liked that this relationship took a bit more work than some of the other Fated Mate stories, it still felt kinda empty since the leads spent so little time together. I also didn't like the issues with Maria that got them there. Basically I had issues understanding Maria and found her rather unlikable. Might have felt differently if I'd read her backstory. HEA and epilogue. No cliffhangers, but two more Kincaid brothers to go, and those pesky hyenas are still lurking about. So yeah, more stories to come.

Would I read more? Sure. I've read a number of Scarlett Grove stories and like some more than others. Always good for a quick Fated Mate sort of story.

Fantastic

Brilliant second book of the series. Saw Bear Buck gets a 100% match on mate.com but he gets a message from his match to say they can’t be together. Maria has been bitten against her will and her beast has gone feral so she has gone to live in the woods to keep everyone safe from here just after she was bitten she got a 100% match for a mate but she can’t have him. Buck hears a wild roar in the forest he goes to explore and finds a lion it is Maria but she keeps attacking him he forces Maria to shift by she pushes him away. Buck looks around where Maria is staying in the cave next time he comes to see a Maria Buck brings her a lot of supplies food, warm clothing, sleeping bag, shoes all Maria needs while she stays out here until she will come home. Alex who had bitten Maria comes and finds Maria she asks why her and he tells Maria because she is broken and he wanted to break her more. Buck goes to Maria’s cave but she isn’t there he can smell that she has been there and another smell another lion Alex he has to find her. Alex takes Maria to a cliff to scare her but just as she was going to explain that she would rather die than be with him Buck comes charging at Alex. Maria gets away and her lion comes forward but Maria is able to be in control and helps Buck with Alex but he ends up going over the cliff. Maria comes home with Buck and never looks back she has control over her lion and with the mate bite she feels the love Buck feels for her and fixes the parts of her that got shattered through her life.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we get Buck Kincaid's story and we learn more about Maria Reyes's story. When this story opens up they both find out on mate.com that they are matched. However Buck is immediately sent a message saying that they can't be together. Buck knows that without even meeting this woman that she is the one for him and he is determined to find out and eliminate whatever is keeping them apart. Little did he know how much that would entail. Can he find a way to be with his mate or will he loose her forever?

Maria has always felt like she has lived her life in her sister's shadow. She wanted to be her own woman and thought she was finally finding that at the Bright Institute for Shifters. However one incident changes her life again. This time she is not sure she can ever be near anyone again. When she finds that she has a mate she knows the best thing for him is to send him away. Can he help her though and will she get her own HEA or will she be alone and scared for the rest of her life?

This is a great short story about finding love and fighting for it even when most would give up. This book has many twists and turns that I would really like to tell you all about but don't want to ruin it for other readers. I will say that this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I am mixed about this book, not one of the better ones but I loved Buck. I liked it but something about it just nagged at me, maybe it was too simplistic or rushed as a story.
Maria we have met before in Cadet Bear as the younger sister of Rosa. She caused trouble then and is still causing trouble now. Though I sympathise with what she has gone through, which is horrible, once again she does not ask for help from her capable family. I am sure with help she would have been able to control things so much easier.
Loved Buck and thought he was so sweet and supportive but confused about what to do due to his family responsibilities. I really kept cheering him on in his honest pursuit of his mate and his genuine need to help her.
Did like the ending with the rotten lion Alex.
Cannot wait for Jessie to meet his Ms Right, she is not going to like he is a player.
This is my honest review of this book.

Seven years and Buck had finally found his perfect match for his fated mate. When she responded it was a cryptic message that they couldn't be together. He was the reliable brother who always did what was needed, always helped his other brothers in whatever way they needed. Now it was his turn and he wasn't accepting her answer. He learned there had been a break-in and she was missing.

Maria woke up in the forest naked and bloody. What happened? She didn't remember how and why. Wasn't her life hard enough? Her past was a terror. Finally, she thought she had a future until she'd become a shifter--a feral one with no control. She'd attacked him when he tracked her to her cave.

Is there any chance for them? Can Buck win her? Will her animal side let him in? When the danger returns, will he reach her, physically and emotionally?

Faith Mountain gives us another winning couple. Enjoy. I did.

Once Buck finds out what happened to Maria he goes looking for her and finds shes been turned and her animal is out of control . But hes not one to give up easily and these two have one hard road to traverse to get to the happily ever after they both deserve. This was a page turning cant put it down forget about everything else read I loved every second of it .Two thumbs way way way up.

Fate Mountain does it again this time bringing together two broken souls. Buck Kincaid has held his family's ranch together by making the timber company a success and bringing new life to the failing ranch. He has long wanted his "one" but hasn't found her to that end he signed up with mate.com in its beginning years ago. Finally he receives a message stating they have found her Maria Reyes a human woman who recently entered the Bright University to study botany. Her life has been hard from the time her parents died in her teens until the night she gets matched with Buck when she is attacked in her dorm room. She has become feral as in unable to control her shifts into a lion.

I loved how Buck's patience and love won Maria over. Love does heal if you but let it do so. Another great story by Ms. Grove if you have never read her stories you need to give them a try. I voluntarily read an advance copy.

What's a girl to do?

Maria was first introduced in her sisters story. She had a rough start in life. She was orphaned at a young age and raised by her sister. She was kidnapped as a teen to be sold into sex slavery, but luckly was saved that horror. Then she was bitten by a deranged lion shifter, on the same night she finds her fated mate Buck. So she runs, off as a feral lioness, to the mountains.

Buck is a sweetheart of a bear, whi is know as Mr, Dependable, who has been waiting forever for his fated mate. When he finds her, Maria, he's thrilled and messages her immediately. When he receives a message back saying something has happened and they cam never be together he is shattered because he knows deep down she is in trouble.

Will Buck gind Maria in time? Will Maria get control over her feral lioness? I'm not telling. You'll have to read to find out.

Buck Kinkaid, good, honorable and loyal shifter bear, was desperate. What a nightmare! A mate out of control. What to do? Conflictive emotions, suspense, passion and a feral shifter damage by her past made this an interesting and entertaining story with a good pace and plot development. Liked Buck’s insight, how he visualized the situation and had a plan to deal with it. Suffered for Maria and her low esteem but at the same time liked her determination to be the one to control the animal. Kept me interested all the time waiting for Buck’s next move to deal with what he had sworn to fix. Good character! The good-nature man, eager to help, unselfish, protector and committed with a clear mind of what he had to do. A story about healing, liberating and love. It seems that these Kinkaid brothers had their own and in a good dose. I liked and enjoyed this story.

This is another great story linked to Fate Mountain by Scarlett Grove. This is the second book in the series. In this book we have Buck Kincaid and Maria Reyes who have just found out they are fated mates on Match.com. Will all go as planned?
Buck is ecstatic to learn his perfect match has been found. Maria is not. You see Maria has a feral lion as a second half, which she can't control. Buck realizes he has to find what happened to Maria and hope he can help her. Maria was attacked at the Bright Institute where she is studying botany.
Will they find the shifter who change Maria into a shifter? Will Buck be able to calm her lioness? I enjoyed reading Buck and Maria's story and found myself routing for them, I give this story5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed a advanced reader copy without pressure to do so".

Awww! Buck has always been the sure and steady one of the brothers Kincaid, the one that could be depended upon to make sure the work got done, and had everyone’s back when needed. But when he finally finds his mate, only to discover she’s in a heap of trouble, all bets are off! He needs to find her and help her, and protect her. But will she let him? Maria is feeling like the world is out to get her! She’s been through so much in her young life so far, but this last incident just might be the final straw that breaks her…totally. When she finally finds the one man for her, it’s too late. She’s simply too broken. Will Buck give up or will he forge ahead until he can win her over and make her whole again?

Great story with passion, sadness, and overcoming your fears. All Maria wants is to study Botany and eventually open her own plant nursery, but one Shifter changes her world forever. Maria has been through a very traumatic event, and because of this believes she is not worthy of having a mate, especially one as sweet as Buck. Bear shifter Buck will do everything in his power to support and care for Maria, and to convince her that they could have a wonderful life together, if only she will give them a chance. But in order to overcome her past she will need to face it head on, who will come out the winner?

Buck Kincaid, aka Saw Bear, is thrilled when Mate.com finds his match. The same night he sees her picture he receives a text from Maria telling him they can never be together. Maria Reyes hasn't had an easy life, but she was studying at the Bright Institute and knew what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. That all changed when another student did something that broke shifter rules. Buck will do anything to save his mate, and Maria will learn control when she fights beside her mate. Sexy and sweet characters with a plot that twists makes this a must read shifter romance. Fantastic book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Buck Kincaid, better known to his friends as Saw Bear is the dependable one in his family. He has put everything into running the business of Timber Ranch. He has also been on Mate.com for years looking for his mate.
Maria Reyes was the first human to enroll in the Bright institute, and is doing well. That is until the night she finds her match on Mate.com. Somebody isn't happy about that, and deliberately ruins everything.
Our heroine is a very sad and damaged young woman. Our hero is a very patient grizzly.
This is an emotional trip to our favourite shifter town of Fate Mountain. I always enjoy these series.

I only gave 2 stars for this one because I don't feel that Maria's character was developed enough. I had totally forgotten about her from Cadet Bear and she needed to be reintroduced. IMO, this could have been achieved with a prologue. I really don't think the appearance of more Hyena's on Fate Mountain was played out enough either and it felt like the "bad" guy was just thrown in at the last minute. His motives for doing what he did were just thrown out there. Again, a prologue could have solved this as well. I have enjoyed most of the books about Fate Mountain and I will read the next in this series.

Love This Story

Maria and Buck. One of the first human students at Corey Bright's shifter school, Maria has just signed up on Mate.com. Lumberjack Buck is a hardworking and responsible bear shifter hoping for a match on Mate.com. Buck finds his fated mate only to lose her to a crazed lion shifter's bite before they can even meet. Can Buck's love and devotion help Maria find her way to him?

A compelling storyline, main characters desperately looking for each other and an evil determined to destroy their potential mating make this an engaging story. I wholeheartedly recommend that you read it as soon as you can.

Loved it!!!!!!

In this novel you get Saw Bear Buck, and Maria Reyes ( her sister is married to Deputy Bear ). Buck is looking for his mate on mate.com, as is Maria. Maria is also attacked by a rogue feral mountain lion shifter from the Bright Institute where she is going to school. She's turned against her will, and flees before she and Buck can really meet. Will fate work for them, and save the day???

Loved it!!!!! I voluntarily leave my review for this gifted ARC, plus, I bought a copy!!!! So worth it!!!!!

Scarlett Grove is an amazing author the paranormal shifter books that she writes are the type of books that pull you in and don't let you go til the very last page. This is a great story of a bear shifter that has waited to find love on mate .com for years and when he gets a message they found his perfect match and he texts Maria but the next morning he gets a text that something happened and they can never be together. Will Saw Bear be able to help his mate ? Will they finally find the love they both want so much? I voluntarily decided to review this arc because its a great read!

If anyone deserves a happily ever after it's Buck Kincaid, the rock of the Kincaid clan Poor baby finally finds out about his mate and then her circumstances prevent them from meeting. I loved how patient he was once he found Maria and learned what had happened. His determination to help his mate deal and learn to trust again was epic. I also was pleased when he finally let his brothers in on what was happening and let them help also. True to Fate Mountain love reigns supreme. Looking forward to Jesse's story. Not Very Goog

This second book in the book was not great for me. The first book was much better. There was some sort of a disconnect going on. I was n Ted to really like Buck and Maria, but that didn't happen. All the others books in her previous series were always great. In addition, there were too many errors. It got real frustrating. Where are this author's beta readers. She really needs some....if not the series will fail. The only thing that allowed me to continue on were the previous characters.

This is Buck and Maria’s story. While Buck didn't think he would ever find his fated mate, he finally does, but Maria feels that she is broken and just pushes him away. This is a story of patience, devotion and love battling evil, as well as their inner selves.

This is a compelling and engaging story. You may see yourself looking back at you from different parts of this story. I recommend that you enjoy this story.

A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Oh wow!!

If you've kept up with the Fate Mountain Bears from Rescue and Bear Patrol than hold onto your hats as your introduced to the Kincaid brothers of Timber Bear Ranch it begins with Boss Bear finding his mate and becoming the family Alpha now it's his Betas turn to find his mate. Saw Bear is about finding what completes you and drives you even if it's love that a feral fated mate is fighting to get away from. Come and read about Buck and Maria and the long road it took them to finally complete each other and make two hearts one.

What is a grizzly bear suppose to do when he finally finds his mate and she's a feral lioness? Buck has all the patience in the world to deal with Maria's lion. His bear on the other hand isn't as patient. Maria gets bitten by a feral lion shifter right after she's matched with Buck on mate.com. She can't control the lion at all and attacks Buck at every turn. You'll need to read the one to find out how it all pans out. This is my honest review for a book given to me by the author.

Kindle Unlimited standalone in series about shifter brothers. He finally finds his mate only for her to say they cannot be together. She's got a monster inside her and cannot control who she has became. When he fights for her only to have her taken by the same evil creature that made her what she is, he'll stop at nothing to find his happy ending.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
I felt so bad for Maria.
Being attacked + changed to a lioness against her will.
Buck could not believe that he found his mate.
Now he just have to meet her.
Maria is slowly going feral. Is Buck's love enough to save her?
I totally think so.
Love does win in the end.
I loved the ending!

Another great addition to the Timber Bear Ranch series. I really enjoyed reading this book it's filled with sadness, compassion, patience and of course steamy romance. My heart really broke for Maria I'm just glad that Buck was so determined and patience with Maria and they both got the HEA they deserve. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.
