DNF at least for now. It was just bullet points really. I don't know what I expected... I may get back to it later. I think it might be a bathroom book!

An introduction to ancient Rome. The book includes information about mosaics, concrete, the Forum Romanum, baths, roads and aqueducts.

I would have liked to read more about normal life, among normal people. Books tend to be about aristocrats and emperors, because there are many sources about them, and that is interesting, as well, but I miss the people, and especially the life of the women.

Highly recommend as a quick brief reminder of all the Roman history lessons you learned in High School! Loved having something quick to read before traveling to Rome and having a few fast facts in my pocket as I got to experience Rome!

Reading this book made me feel like I should have googled about the topic instead. Topics are briefly discussed and found myself grasping for more information when the book is already done discussing it. But A+ for the graphic design—this is probably the well-designed book I've ever read.

This is my second reading of this book as I read it to my middle son two years ago. It is an excellent overview of the Ancient Roman empire and as good first book to read to my youngest son as we embark on his unit study of the time period.

Bien fait, on apprend beaucoup et révise certaines choses que l'on savait déjà. Comme pour l'ensemble des livres «en 30 secondes» s'adressent à des amateurs du sujet et non aux expert, ni même aux connaisseurs, qui n'apprendront probablement rien, ou bien peu. Certaines parties redondantes comme les mêmes personnages qui reviennent encore et encore dans la biographie de différentes sections gagneraient à être améliorées en étant classées/répertoriées différemment.
