Thoughts can take on physical form.

Dr. Albert Snowden and his niece, Emily, never thought they would be able to travel through space and time. Or out of the timeline. Or out of the universe. Or even out of the plane that houses universes.

Yet that is where they find themselves while exploring the origin of Evaran, the mysterious being who rescued them from an alien abduction six months ago. Having to deal with the fact that they are part of a time loop that has not yet been fulfilled is one issue. Learning of another version of Evaran who needs their help in a parallel universe is an additional problem.

Hampering their efforts along the way are the Time Wardens, a hideously intelligent race from the timeline void, who relentlessly hunt any time traveler. Evaran and crew, along with new allies, will try to help the other Evaran while dealing with the Time Wardens and other threats.

If you like science fiction, time travel, and action and adventure, then this book is for you.

I have been dreaming about fictional worlds since I was a kid. I devoured anything related to fantasy and science fiction. I developed a setting over the last twenty years and struggled to find a medium I could express it in. Several years ago, I discovered I enjoyed writing. It is a passion of mine now, and exploring my setting with it has been an awesome journey.

I work in the information technology field and have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in it. It has helped me to shape some of the concepts I write about. I also enjoy keeping up on futurology and science in general.

I live in central Ohio and enjoy walking, reading, gaming, learning, listening to music, and trying to keep up on my never-ending list of TV shows and movies to watch. If you want to contact me, you can do so on my website at

The Evaran Origin: Book 5 of the Evaran Chronicles by Adair Hart may be the fifth book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. If you have been following the series (and you really should because they are awesome sci-fi) then this is the book you have been waiting for! This is all about Evaran's origins. Yes, we get to find out about the elusive guy himself! It is so mind blowing! Of course our favorite team is with him and a couple of others, but that is a secret. The stories only get better and better. I am totally hooked on these books. There is always action, adventure, great plot, characters, and a totally fun read. I received this book to read and the review is voluntary.

We finally get to know Evaran's origins; many questions answered, great adventures and action in parallel universes, cosmic beings, emotional encounters... it was fun riding with the Torvatta crew again!

Summary:

Received for an honest review.

for everyone, including myself, we asked to learn more about Evavan's past and now it was revealed in the book. Evaran, Doctor Snowden and Emily live outside the usual limits of time and space traveling in the Torvatta where their seem to be no limits in where or when they can go. The ability to go to any time-line opens up to meeting even their own selves because per scientific theory that each time-line could range from small to vast differences in the individuals living there. Add to that the Time Wardens who are determined kill anyone who opposed them especially time travelers who could oppose them. Evaran and his friends have fought them before, but the cost was great. While revealing Evaran's past, the book brings forth hints of the future as the difficulties in time travel reveal things that would confound most people. Their adventure in time isn't an easy one leaving Emily and Dr. Snowden to deal with issues that would be beyond most of humanity. It is only with Evaran, V, and others along the way to help them cope with their new reality.

Adair Hart has to be one of the most imaginative science fiction authors today. His literary creation of galaxies, parallel universes, and of universal planes makes you feel like you could almost go there; and it makes a good story. While there are resemblances to another time and space traveling adventure series, this similarity in no way detracts from the joy of reading The Evaran Chronicles series.

The Torvatta is like Doctor Who’s Tardis, it travels through space and time, is larger on the inside than it is on the outside, and provides its occupants with universal translation when they leave the ship to interact with alien races. Furthering the Doctor Who comparison, Evaran travels throughout space and time with human companions. These travel adventures generally involve the righting of time dilation events. His human companions provide moral balance to their alien interactions.

I’ve read books 1 through 3 of The Evaran Chronicles series so far and have now read book 5. I missed snagging book 4 but do have the most recently published book, The Shadow Connection, and will be reviewing that shortly.

This is a series that leaves me excited after reading each successive book. I find that waiting to read the next book in the series is torturous.

In this book, The Evaran Origin, we’re introduced to space beings called Time Wardens. They are mechanical constructs occupied by a species that cannot live outside of the spider-like mechanical body. Using spatial energy that they mine from spatial/time rips, the alien species are destructive to all other alien species. They capture and imprison them so that it can feed off their life energy. The book ends with the destruction of one of their spatial energy absorbing stations, but not with the destruction of the entire species as they are too widespread.

Also, in this book, Dr. Snowden and his niece, Emily, revisit the Krotovore who abducted them into their spaceship in the first book. They now experience that abduction from the perspective of the rescuers who saved them. Although the event takes place in a parallel universe, it affords Doctor Snowden and Emily an understanding of the race that abducted them.

This book was written to answer the question, ‘Who is Evaran?’. While it does that early on in the book, there is some lingering mystery that leaves material for a later book in the series.
There was no cliffhanger at the end of Book 5, nor have there been any in any of Adair Hart’s previous books in the series. For that, I applaud the author.

I’m loving the Evaran series and hope that Adair Hart continues writing science fiction. He’s good at it and will someday be well known in Science Fiction genre.

This is the 5th evolution of the Evaran tales, and as the title suggests, this is the book that delves into the origins of Evaran. The standard crew are all there, Emily, Dr Snowden and V as they start this adventure.
This book is a little different to the others, it is a lot more in-depth than the others.
The first 4 stories have been at a particular level of complexity, each with a contained story about Evaran and the crew, although the books do flow from one to the other. However, this story is somewhat different in that it was a lot more complex in its discussion of time travel, the other dimensions, and the different planes and planar beings that exist.
The Author spends a large part of the start of the book with the characters having in-depth discussions about these concepts and in some parts it feels like it is quite intense.
Having said that, this is quite necessary to give you the story that is required for the background for the Evaran story, to fully understand who he is, and how he is created and formed. It also gives you a real understanding of several of the other characters in not just this book, but the other books in the series.
In this book, the team are also faced with rescuing Evarans other plane self who has been captured.
I don’t want to give too much away, but this is where the story kind of gets back to a similar feel to the previous books, but there is still a lot of the complexity of the different dimensions and planes.
As I said previously, the usual suspects return, with V, Dr Snowden and Emily, all in fine form. Although this story is about the origins of Evaran, it does continue to explore the other characters, and we do learn more about V and some of his origins also.
There are some rather interesting new characters introduced, and as always, the Authors character work is exceptional, bringing each of her characters to life in unique and interesting ways, whether they be the ones we know and love, or a new planar being that is several thousand years old, but a friend of Evaran, introducing all sorts of interesting concepts to the storyline.
This is real Science-Fiction, with a solid story that has run for 5 books, but wrapped in a complex theory about dimensions, planes, parallel universes and the entities that inhabit or exist between them. Some of this is based on Science, some of it is based on fiction, all of it just makes for a really fascinating story, and gives us the background of Evaran that most have been seeking since we were first introduced to him in The Awakening.
If you are a fan of this series, this is definitely worth the read, but allow some time to get through it.

Each book of the Evaran Chronicles series is a masterpiece, such a beautiful creation that from the first minute till the end I just can’t put it down, take a break or sleep.
My hat off to the narrator for his perfect performance and of course to the author for the excellent work, perfection is an understatement.
I can’t spoil the story but the ending was really something else, a twist which made sense about unanswered questions.
Like I’ve said a great series that nobody should miss out on.

No disappointments here,
I fully recommend this series.

I’ve got this audiobook for free to review it.

As the title suggests we find out a lot about where Evaran comes from, though there is way more to the book than that.
It is a complex story with time travel, alternate universes and other dimensions, also very intense during the fighting. A large proportion involves discussions between the characters but they are necessary and informative.
It was a bit confusing at times due to the technicality of the conversations but it didn't detract from the story.

Review of: The Evaran Origin: Book 5 of the Evaran Chronicles

Loved the story, it matches the last four books. I have yet to read one of the book's in the series that I didn't enjoy reading. I'm glad I found this series and will keep reading each and everyone, Mr. Hart has me hooked!

This novel was an interesting take on alternate dimensions and timelines. It was an enjoyable read and gave a revised experience from the first novel. Like the others, I enjoyed the novel, but something about the book's narrative perspective doesn't quite fit for me. The plot and events, however, were very entertaining.

This was one of his best works to date. He explained a lot of the questions I was concerned about. If you have not read this series you need to start now you will be amazed. Keep them coming can't wait to see what happens next.

Interesting story

I liked the way the author tied up the loose ends of Everan's background. I also like the way that even the "Superior" races showed their "Humanity".

The science, if you can call it that, in this story is weak and highly suspect. They're in space, yet there's gravity. They're on alien worlds, yet there's breatheable air. And time is a mess. Sometimes a specific time (such as 9 AM) is given then qualified as "Earth time" with no mention of time zone. These are small distractions that pull the reader out of the story. But the biggest distraction for me is the constant (mis)use of the word "anyways" where "anyway" should be used.

This is a character-driven story with some very compelling characters. But after 5.5 novels, the adventures are becoming rather predictable.

Michael Pauley does an excellent job of voicing the characters, although some of his pronunciations are a little off. (e.g., It sounds like he's saying "eggknowledged" for "acknowledged.")

Ultimately, finding out what happens to the characters is enough to keep the reader interested in the story.
