People have begun to mysteriously vanish inside an isolated town in the Canadian wilderness, and the monster fighting Regulators volunteer to accompany a famous Sasquatch researcher into the forest in search of answers.
They weren’t expecting to find anything, but they did.
Soon, the Regulators find themselves fighting for their lives as the Tribe proves that the forest belongs to them.
This book was good at the end but I had to work through it. Read it as a fan of the series.
I am a fan of this series so I was glad to have another installment. I wanted this book to be awesome like the others...it was not. The first third of the book was weak and insufferable with an extreme overuse of junior high school banter between the characters. This type of banter was ok in previous books when used appropriately. No so in this book. I am not sure what the author was going for. Character development? I hope not. I do not need excessive childish dialogue from my favorite monster hunter-killers.
After I fought my way past the first third of the book, things improved. The last third of the book was worth reading and more in line with this series. Good action and relevant violence - back to what has made this series entertaining and fun to read.
This book could have and should have been better. I hope the author can shake this one off and return to form in the next book for this series.
I usually wouldn't read a book like this but it mentioned Bigfoot so I thought I would give it a try. My first thought was it had those "manly men", aka the Regulators, and it was for macho men only. My second thought was why am I reading the fifth book in a series first? But, I began to read and I was hooked. It had it all...humor, killing, and lots of excitement. The best part? This is the fifth book in an excellent series which means more creatures and more about those Regulators! Keep these coming Michael Cleary because, as I have said before, I am hooked!
I am a fan of Clancy, Thor, Flynn, Fuchs and the Arisen series but to be honest, I do not get more excited than when I get an email alerting me that a new Guardian book has come out! In all seriousness, do yourself a favor and buy the first book and I promise you, you'll be buying the rest immediately as you will know at that point in time when you are not even finished with the first book that you are going to read them all! Great job sir, keep up the GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Wow you have been very persistent through this whole series about being scared and pushing yourself through the fear love it but you sucked at Calvin's demise!!!
