God was still winging the Danny vision in my direction, and apparently He, in His infinite wisdom, thought it’d be funnier to make that vision sexier than ever.

We were out of Cheerios. Out of coffee. And now, no morning fuck on the kitchen island. The day was going to hell in a very rickety handbasket.

"Dick, much like gratuity, is not included."
I kissed him without reservation. Kissed him like it was the first time. Kissed him like I'd never left.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I thought that Brickell Bay PD would send someone I hadn't slept with. Considering how celibate I was, that shouldn't have been a challenge.
"Maybe. Kind of looks like a vagina."
"What? No. Two clams," I insisted and squinted at the painting again. "I know it's been a while since I saw a vagina, but it doesn't look like that."
"This is his take on one...surrealism almost. Besides, I'm pretty sure the last time you saw a vagina, you were coming out of one."
That wasn't just desire on his face. There was anger there too. Anger with me for leaving. Anger with me for trouncing all over our unspoken truce. Anger for even wanting me at all.

"You taste soft and sleepy and sweet."
I could do a little better than that. "You taste like home."
“Does this mean I have to get some sort of superhero outfit and report to S.H.I.E.L.D.? Is Samuel Jackson going to pop out someplace and tell me to catch these motherfucking ghosts?”Daniel McKenna (Danny) is a cold-case detective and happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Rain. They broke up for unknown reasons, even to themselves. Rain is brought to his home town to work a special cold-case with Danny and the sparks immediately begin to fly…again.
“Don’t you fall in lust, I warned my dick. Don’t you fall in love, it warned me right back.”I love Harmon’s writing! Rain and Danny have such wonderful chemistry. From the start, you don’t know why they broke up in the first place but you feel the angst, mostly from swoony Danny. He’s so afraid of getting his heart broken again. Rain is the snarky, intelligent, ghost-seeing, quirky hero you didn’t know you needed. His inner dialogue is hilarious.
“Jesus.” I grabbed by chest as Ethan appeared in my peripheral vision. I moved my hand in anxious circles as though I could physically soothe my rapidly beating heart. “Isn’t there some other way you could appear?”Rain has to dig deep and set some boundaries with the ghosts as they start to appear when he’s in the bathroom, or sleeping...or doing other things. Not to mention, he’s still trying to keep the fact that he sees ghosts a secret from Danny. I loved this story. Highly recommended for fans of thriller/mysteries/gay/mm romance, who enjoy excellent banter.
He shrugged. “Yeah, but it’s not nearly as fun as watching you hyperventilate.”
