Random trivia and oddball facts in a large book to pass the time while sitting in line in a car or the inevitable bathroom trivia, as intended, even if that sounds gross?
One of the most interesting pages was 'Pro-nun-ci-a-tion", showing words original pronunciation when formed and according to the dictionary. Apparently almost all of us pronounce these things wrong - err should rhyme with her and not hair - joust was meant to be pronounced just. And take that teacher - either really is ee-thur and not aye-thur.
The book is filled with a bizarre combination - With animals (Apparently from the pig page I learned India uses pigs to sniff out drugs instead of dogs due to their sense of smell. Bizarre but interesting. ), Sports, History, Music, Comedic laugh lines, and...pretty much everything you can think of in a random trivia book.
Really it's not a book to sit through long since it's so random, but it is perfectly suited for the random bathroom trips when you want to scan a page, hygiene issues aside.
What can you say? This like all the other Uncle John's bathroom readers just gets you hooked and you suddenly find yourself stopping everything else and reading it from cover to cover. For trivia buffs there is no fiber series of books.
Yet another excellent entry in this series. Always full of fun facts, interesting stories and just plain cool information. The articles range from one to four pages in length. The nice thing about this series is that you can literally open any book to any page and start reading and enjoying. Definitely recommended.
One of their better books, and reasonably well organized. I was surprised at the number of date-specific references, however - "The current president", "this year", etc. - makes me think this book will have a limited shelf life...
my friend accidentaly left his book at my house so i started reading it whenever and it is extremely random. i absolutely love it. it is also really long for hours of fun. a great book
