His Royal Hotness #2

Royal Treatment

Rate this book
What’s a crown prince to do with time on his hands? Or better yet, who? It’s Prince Garrett’s turn to find love in this mouthwatering standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Royal Pain.

Once upon a time I was being groomed to sit on the throne of Wildemar. Now I’m lucky they let me into the palace through the front door. After I was kidnapped and tortured by extremists, my reward upon my release is that nobody trusts me enough to let me be king. And since my twin brother, Kian, has assumed all my responsibilities, I figure why not take over as the black sheep?

But after breaking things off with my betrothed—we never had much chemistry, anyway—and giving the jetsetting playboy lifestyle a try, I’m starting to wonder if I’m cut out for this s***. Then I meet Lola Barnes, a drop-dead gorgeous entrepreneur from the States who’s as refreshing as she is feisty.

It’s supposed to be a one-night-stand—until the press catches wind of my “new American sweetheart.” Trouble is, Lola’s no sweetheart. But the more I see our names together in the headlines, the more I find myself craving another taste. . . .

ARC received for review

Garrett was just as yummy as his brother Kian, but so tortured....literally. You can read this one without having read the first, but I would recommend reading book one before this book.

If Lola thought it, it was probably going to come out of her mouth. She was perfect for the slightly uptight prince, former prince, prince, former prince...their Dad was a real prick. When he broke, oh my, it'll break your heart.

Sweet epilogue, but I'm sad there's not another brother. Maybe we can have a couple books with Kian's bodyguards. They were pretty hilarious.

Entrepreneur, a woman making her own way in the world and someone who isn’t cowed by a crown, Lola is free spirited and strong…and she makes for the perfect companion to Garrett, the tortured prince.

Lots of great relationship ins and outs while dealing with the paparazzi, a kingdom and royal family.

Surviving insurmountable odds, this story could be called an epic romance. Heartfelt, and enthralling.

I received this ARC copy of Royal Treatment from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept. This is my honest and voluntary review. Royal Treatment is set for publication April 24, 2018.

This was a great follow up to the first book in this series! I loved Kian, but Garrett was so broken and injured that I couldn’t help but love him more!

When Garrett sees the little spitfire chewing out one of his security detail he’s drawn to her but as their interaction continues he’s more than drawn. No one treats him like she does. And he’s all over that! It’s been nine months since the rescue from his abduction where he was tortured. He’s still trying to find some kind of healing but it’s not going so well. It doesn’t help that his father, the King, has taken away Garret’s right to the throne because of the mistreatment he received during his captivity.

Lola is a free spirit. Raised by a single mother and ignored by her father, she’s found a little niche for herself in the world of fashion. What she refuses to do is give any man the power to ever leave her and break her heart again. When Garret charms her into a date and one scorching hot kiss, she’s more amiable to the crazy plan he presents to her. They will work together to gain the throne back to its rightful heir.

I loved all the ins and outs of this couple’s relationship. Both had past issues to get through and neither are capable of opening up about it. Garret’s were definitely the worse but he’s hidden his pain and emotional trauma so well that those around him, minus Lola, don’t realize how “damaged” he really is.

Lola was such the perfect counterpart for Garret and he was so charming and fun, refusing to let go. A bit of a beta hero he was transformed by Lola’s attitude toward life, problems and him. This was a well paced read with great secondary characters, Kian and Savvy from book 1 play quite a bit of a role, and steamy in all the appropriate parts.

Definitely one you want to check out if you like some royal romance!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The moment I was drawn to the plot of Royal Treatment A His Royal Hotness Novel by Tracy Wolff I did not even remember that I actually read the previous book in that series. I just had this intense feeling that this would be a novel I like.

A quick check on goodreads then confirmed that I not only knew the author but also read the previous book

And not only did I like this book very much – no in fact I think it is better then the first one AND better than several other books in that genre. This author not only uses the clichés in that genre but also touches a different more darker subject that usually is not included in these kind of novels.

I liked the male lead here even more than his brother because his experiences gave him an edge that you usually rarely find. As a reader I could feel how his past changed him. The author did a good job at that.

For me as a lover of tortured / broken male leads this book was a 2in1 deal that I really enjoyed and I can honestly say that I will pick up another book from this author at any time if the blurb appeals to me.

Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff is Book Two in the His Royal Hotness series. This is the story of Lola and Garrett. I have read the previous book and feel this can be a standalone book if you choose to do so.
Garrett is a Crown Prince of Wildemar but was kidnapped and torchered for 8 months. Of course this changed Garrett and now his family is unsure of him and his mindset. Garrett is on his own other than his security team when he happens to meet Lola. Lola too has had such a great start to her life but is working toward her goal of her career and business which is what has brought her to the area. I really enjoyed reading how these two came together. I was rooting for Garrett after his treatment and I wanted Lola to find happiness too.

Absolutely loved this book! Garrett is next in line for the throne, his father the King has groomed him from day one, Kian his twin is not King material. Until Garrett is kidnapped for 8 months and endured a hellish torture. Kian is now taking Garrett's place doing his father's bidding and screwing it up royally. Garrett has been shunned, deemed unworthy, unstable and certainly not worth his father's trouble. So we have a bit of role reversal in this book, although Kian is still a pinhead.
No one will ever understand what Garrett went through during those months he was help captive.
He has no friends, he's got his security team. One day while out swimming at a local lake he happens to spot a little red headed spitfire giving one of his men hell because he won't let her swim in this public lake. So Garrett goes to investigate, which only means that Lola turns her wrath upon him and the security team. Garrett is taken with Lola. They end up swimming together and then sitting exchanging a few words and when he looks again, she's gone. It takes time but he does manage to track her down.
Lola is there buying vintage clothing for her business back in the states. Her mother was a dancer in Las Vegas and her father who was a prominent businessman hit the road when he found out she was pregnant. Lola doesn't have time to dwell on that stuff. She's a successful businesswoman. Her next stop after leaving here is Paris to buy and then ship the clothing home to the states, herself soon to follow.
When the Paps happen to catch a photo of Lola and Garrett together, Lola is among other things upset. She can't leave the house she's rented there. Conveniently Garrett pays a visit and Kian in his not so infinite flipping wisdom advised by two other royal spinners see this as a way for Garrett to regain his place on the royal thrown. Ahh but not so fast. They left out the kIng, who is a royal dick, but you'll see him later. Garrett thinks it's a good idea (s0rt of) Lola's sales have skyrocketed and though they have to deal with the paps, together they can handle it.
What a great couple these two are. So easy and really pull you into their characters. Lola is all snark and sass and Garrett can rise to that occasion as well. Despite what he is still battling Lola seems to be the compassionate soul he needs and they really belong together.
The story continues to unfold, and when the king graces his son with a phone call, Lola overhears part of it. Making some decisions that perhaps weren't in both their best interest, nonetheless she does. All he knows is she's gone and he's got nothing left. He's lost that last part of himself.
All hell breaks loose and I do mean me hell. The story so well written I felt some of that in the pit of my stomach. Kian is an idiot and Savvy although she's got a couple lines that make sense is perfect for Kian. Two peas. Truly. The storyline flowed smoothly and the writing was stellar. Loved it.
Truly a 5 star read.

Garrett was the heir apparent to the throne of Wildemar, being groomed for the position for as long as he could remember. That all changed after he was kidnapped and tortured. Now his twin brother Kian is being positioned to take the throne and he is doing all he can to assume the position of family black sheep. He breaks things off with his bethrothed and tries on the jetsetting playboy price role, but it doesn’t quite fit. When he meets the feisty American, Lola, what starts as a one-night turns into something much more complicated when the press gets ahold of the story. Garrett is getting used to his more recent scandalous press, but this may be harder to get out from under. Lola may not be as innocent and sweet as the public believes, but she has an image to maintain. How can he untangle himself from Lola without ruining both of their public images and more importantly, does he really want to?

I enjoyed the first book about Kian, but Garrett was even more enjoyable for me. I was intrigued by what we saw of him in book one and he did not disappoint. I always have had a soft spot for a troubled hero and Garrett is dealing with lots of trauma after what he went through. Lola was so perfect for him. There was just enough drama happening to make the road to their happily ever after interesting.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Prince Garrett, His Royal Hotness, was the crown prince. After he was kidnapped, he has time on his hands to get his mind right, so his father the King thinks. But all Garrett wants to do is forget what happened and move on with his life.
Lola is an American girl who owns her own multi-million dollar internet vintage clothing company. She meets Garrett one day while he is swimming and when she acts like she doesn't know who he is, he seems to be relieved. But everyone knows who Garrett and his brother and his twin are.
While Lola tells it like it is and Garrett is proper in every way, they do not seem to be the couple kind of people. But after one date, the people of Wildemar are thrilled Garrett has found such a string woman. So the PR people at the palace wants to use the couple idea to help Garrett get his crown prince status back.
So now while Garrett and Lola are playing the couple, will their feelings for each other grow stronger? Can Lola play the part without losing her heart? Will Garrett finally lose his cool and release all the pain of his kidnapping so he can finally heal?
I loved the first book but Garrett and Lola stole my heart. The way he fought to keep his pain hidden and wanting to get is status back until he realized that wasn't all that mattered in life. It was the perfect way to get his life back on track. And Kian will always be Kian, the fun loving second brother.
If you love a great royal romance with a twist, this one is more about the prince than the Cinderella story, then this series is for you. I loved both stories and would even love more. And if you haven't read anything from Tracy Wolff yet you should and pick anything from her, you will not be disappointed.

YAY!!!! I'm so happy that Garrett got his HEA!!!!!

Garrett is/was the Crown Prince of Wildemar. That is until he was kidnapped and tortured both mentally and physically for three months. Now that he's returned to Wildemar, it seems as though dear 'ol dad doesn't feel as though Garrett is capable of leading Wildemar, striping him of his title. Now? Now his twin brother is "acting" Crown Prince while he's trying to come to terms with the fact that everything he's been raised to be, is for nothing.

Lola is a little....daring. That is, she likes to put up a good front. She's responsible for a multi-million dollar vintage business and won't let anything stand in her way. But while she's scoping out an auction in Wildemar, she finds herself scoping out Garrett. Until she's the one who's actually been scoped....but the paparazzi. Now everything has changed and she's front row center for quite a ride.

I loved these two together. I loved how Lola "got" Garrett. She understood not only who he was as a man, but what the last few months has actually cost him. Garrett is attentive to Lola and her needs, even when Lola may not be. The last few chapters in this book got me though. It definitely left me with ALL THE FEELS!!!

Unlike his younger twin brother, Kian, Garrett had spent his whole life being groomed to be the crowned prince of Windemar. That was until he was kidnapped & tortured for 3 months. Now Kian is being claimed to be the crown prince & Garrett is forced to live a life he never imagined of playing the spoiled rich, party every night bachelor. That is until he meets Lola, an opinioned, brash, beautiful outspoken American who just happens cross paths with Garrett while swimming in a public park. Garrett is intrigued by her & wants nothing more than to bed her. What happens instead is a night of playful bantering & a stolen stroll in a closed park. The media reaction causes a frenzy that is so unexpected that Kian suggests a plan to Garrett to pretend to be in a relationship with Lola to gain his rightful place back as the crowned prince. But is that all that’s at stake?

It is beautifully painful story of two lost souls learning to trust again after having been both through their own respective hell. Royal Treatment is a fitting second novel in His Royal Hotness Series & is tells the story of what happened to Garrett during his captivity & what must happen in order for him to heal. Tracy Wolff does an amazing job of bring the battle of Garrett’s need to control his pain & finally to fall to pieces when it becomes complete impossible for him to control no more. I highly recommend this story & the previous story of Royal Pain.

I highly recommend Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff. It is the second book in the His Royal Hotness line, but can be read as a standalone book. This is the story of Prince Garrett and Lola. Royal Treatment is a complicated romance between a prince and peasant. The peasant likes her life exactly the way it is but the Prince wants what the Prince wants and he always gets his way!

The main character Lola Barnes is a beautiful American and a single entrepreneur who runs her own business. She loves her job as a buyer and seller of vintage clothing. Raised by a single mom somehow she has made it as far as she has on her street smarts and grit. She is in Wildemar on a buying trip without any plans to meet his Royal Hotness, Prince Garrett. But once she sees him, SWOON!

Prince Garrett of Wildemar is still recovering from a kidnapping and brutal torture. He’s dealing with the loss of his dreams, the recovery from his horrible ordeal and then he meets LOLA! He is immediately mesmerized by her beauty and her attitude. No one had ever spoken to him the way she does and he loves it! He becomes obsessed with Lola and eventually the press discovers the Prince’s romance and then they are both on an adventure to avoid the paparazzi.

Lola’s need for independence has guided most of the decisions she makes in her life. She really likes Prince Garret but is scared to take a chance at love. Prince Garrett has a breakthrough with his PTSD and recovery during this time and really comes into his own! He becomes more than a victim. My one complaint in this book is that I wish I knew more about his kidnapping and what had happened to him. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone novel, I’m going to read the first book in this line, Royal Pain, to see if it provides more details about the kidnapping.

4 stars

arc received from the Publisher for an honest, voluntary, unbiased review.

" She’s worth more than a crown, worth more than a kingdom."

that one sentence encompasses the whole relationship between Garrett and Lola. it could not more clearly define the way these two fall in love.

our poor Gorgeous Garrett has been through hell, literally. all who fighting th darkness and memories of what he lived through, his torture, he's stripped of what is rightfully his. in essence, he loses his sense of self, loses everything once he finally makes it out alive. and as the story unfolds, as you learn what he lived through, the gut wrenching torture, your heart will break for this man. not only for what he lived through, but because it's being held against him, he's being blamed for it. talk about horrible. throughout this whole book I not once liked his father. there was not one redeeming quality that he displayed, not one. and this continues to the very end. the ultimatums, mind games, the crap that spews from his mouth. he's a horrible man.

then we have Lola. Garret's light in the darkness. who unknowingly is slowly pulling him from his darkness just by being with him. by loving him. and yes, she too has her own hangups. unfortunately out of the both of them, she's the one who caves to them. who let's them win. I will admit however, I do truly love this character. raised by a single mom, entrepreneur, kicking butt at it too, strong willed, independent, just fierce. she may be stupid at times when it comes to Garret, still his match in every way.

Tracy delivers such an amazing love story here. when life got in the way, or other deadlines, I was sad to put this down. she delivers yet another addicting love story that will have you wishing even you could find a broken prince.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series (I would love there to be more) and I would recommend that you read them in order. Royal Pain introduced us to younger twin Kian, who has been the playboy of the duo. He suddenly had to step up when his brother Garrett is kidnapped, which was not the easiest transition. Now we get to read Garrett's story on his return to the kingdom.

I really enjoyed this book - it had the requisite fairy tale elements, but was most definitely not shying away with the difficult times that Garrett is having returning to normal life. His father, the king has severely undermined his self respect as he has insisted that Kian remains the crown prince, inferring that Garrett is incompetent. After the strength he showed under torture, this is just destroying him. A distraction in the form of a beautiful, wily and funny woman called Lola might just be the answer in more ways than one.

Watching Garrett and Lola dance the dance, even under the circumstances that they have agreed to, and as they realise how much they care about each other is a mixture of sexy, fun and also frustrating. Add in the fallout from the abduction, and we get a very engaging story of two seemingly very different people, who actually have a lot more in common than you would imagine.

Thank you Ms Wolff for a fresh perspective on royal romances.

I really enjoyed Royal Treatment from Tracy Wolff. In fact, I think I enjoyed Garratt and Lola’s story even more than I enjoyed Kian and Savvy’s story in Royal Pain.

Tracy Wolff writes such amazing and strong heroines, and Lola Barnes is one of her best. Lola has created her own business selling vintage couture clothing online and has become a major success. When she stumbles upon Prince Garrett of Wildemar, her life is quickly turned upside down.

Garrett was raised as the Crown Prince of Wildemar, as he is 7 minutes older than his twin brother Kian. However, after his kidnapping, his father the King doesn’t think Garrett is strong enough to be the future King. I wanted Garrett’s story the entire time I was reading Kian’s book, so to say I was excited to learn more about him might be an understatement. He had so much control through much of the story, and I attribute much of his new control to being with Lola. There really was just something about the two of them together that seemed predestined. Yes they had some of the best chemistry ever and once they finally made love it was so freaking smoking hot, but they also just seemed to get one another.

I knew that Garrett would eventually blow from the pressure of everything that happened to him. I honestly was surprised it took as long as it did. I really think Lola was his anchor in the storm of his emotions and she helped keep him grounded. However when Garrett finally lost control, he lost it in such a big way, even I was shocked by his level of emotions and anger. I swear I pretty much bawled as Garrett screamed all he had been through at Kian. It absolutely broke my heart for Garrett and Kian, as Kian really had no idea how bad things really were for Garrett. I loved that Lola was the person who helped Garrett move forward and work through so many of his issues.

Royal Treatment was such a wonderful story. The romance between Garrett and Lola was amazing. It was a super emotional yet had lots of moments of laughter too. I’ve always enjoyed Tracy Wolff’s books, and have to say Royal Treatment is my favorite to date.

We met Garrett in the first book since he is first in line for the throne of Wildemar, in front of his twin brother Kian which was addressed in the first book. We know Garrett was kidnapped and tortured for months by extremists. Once he was rescued his father, the King has decided he is not fit to be king and his brother Kian has assumed all of his duties.

Garrett is still trying to heal from his terrible ordeal but in the meantime why not take over some of the wild side that Kian used to exhibit.

Then there is Lola Barnes, a gorgeous redhead entrepreneur from the U.S. who’s as refreshing as she is feisty. Lola was raised by a single mother and she is the epitome of a free spirit. She has a booming business of reselling high end vintage clothing. Because of serious “daddy issues” she prefers to never give a man the ability to hurt her so keeping hook ups casual is the way she likes it.

I enjoyed the first book and this one was just as enjoyable. These two characters played off each other really well and getting to have both Kian and Savvy in this book also was a treat. I was concerned all through the book that Garrett’s ordeal, when he was kidnapped, was not going to be addressed properly but it was and let me tell you the $h!t hit the fan and it was refreshing to see, although a bit hard to read about.

I enjoyed the first book in this series/duet and was really looking forward to reading Garrett's story. I think I actually liked this one better than the first because of the characters. Garrett was the chosen one, who would succeed his father to the throne. After having gone through some horrific experiences, everyone considers Garrett to be broken. Garrett had some insurmountable odds to overcome. I think that is what I liked about his characters. With Kian (his brother) it was the typical trope of party playboy nobody thinks will do anything rising to the occasion. With Garrett there was more depth because he had it all and through no fault of his own lost not only the throne but himself. This was a terrific journey of healing and finding love that would help him get back to the man he once was and perhaps better.

I really liked Lola's character. She is feisty, independent and can hold her own. She is the exact match that Garrett needs to help him recover himself along the way.

Garrett and Lola meet in an unexpected encounter. She is a brash Amercian who does not care one iota that he is a prince. Garrett is still reeling from being stripped of his automatic ascension into King and having his twin brother slotted in by his father. His father was difficult and overbearing throughout this book. Garrett's kidnapping, torture and subsequent PTSD was downplayed by all around him. He was stoic to the point of being almost martyr. Lola owned her own business and was quite successful in her own right. She was kind of in your face at points and didn't want anyone to tell her what to do, but had no problem letting people know how she felt. She had daddy issues that were warranted, but used them as an excuse for her behavior a bit too much. Her inability to understand Garrett's feelings and her refusal to see him as different than her father caused more than a few problems. Overall it was a good book and showcased both personalities in enough detail that you felt like you knew them both. A good continuation of this series.

I liked this one a lot. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.

So I started this one back in April (got almost 3/4 done), and then I got bombarded with ARCs for review tours. It's my own fault that I didn't have time to finish, but it wasn't from lack of not wanting to read it. I really liked both Garrett and Lola!

The book was a little heavy, but that's not surprising given who one of the main characters was and what happened in the last book. We pick up where that one left off, except now we focused on a different couple...and the brother I was honestly more excited for. I liked Kian, but Garrett is more my style.

Lola was the perfect match for Garrett. She was stubborn, strong, so loving, etc. He needed someone who could help him handle the demons he faced. I highly recommend this book if you like strong heroines, royalty romance, and some sassiness.

Prince Garrett's story continues as he works to come to terms with being the spare prince after living through being tortured at the hands of his kidnappers. His father the King no longer believes Garrett is the son for the throne. So now that Garrett is not to be king, he decides to give the playboy lifestyle his brother Kian loved so much a try. That's when he meets Lola and his world is once again turned upside down!

This is the second and final book in the series and while you could read this one and follow along as a standalone, I recommend you read the first book to get the full backstory. Both books are very well done and I highly recommend them both.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review.

Hot cover alert and this blurb was amazing. I did not read the first book but this book was so amazing I may have to go read Kian's story. Garrett lost his place in succession for the throne because he had been kidnapped and tortured for months. Seemed a bit unethical but who can tell with Royals. After a brief run in with a fire blazing red headed Lola, Garrett seems to be swept away in his attraction for her.

I caught myself several times just smiling and laughing through out this story, and I have to say that this book is a rare treat. I absolutely loved it.... there is no words on how relaxing and fun this story is. How it engrossed I was as Garrett and Lola's chemistry just bloomed. Just an amazing book. I recommend it to anyone who loves romances. Garrett was definitely a Royal Hotness, and Lola was just amazing for him. The characters just fit each other sometimes well that it's just a shame the book had to end with a HEA....but that's just royalty for you.

Garrett just can't get over some things, "hours later and my mind is still boggling. No woman has ever hung up on me before." Garrett is more of an action man, "...he tells me as he picks me up and starts carrying me toward the bedroom. It’s something he does a lot..." I liked this book, I loved Garrett the man was damaged and it's those kind of men I love.

I happily grab any title from this author that I see come across my desk. An American business woman and a European prince fall in love in this sweet story. Thank you to NetGalley and LoveSwept for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.

Royalty-themed romance is a guilty pleasure so this book instantly appealed to me. I haven't read the first book in this series so I felt like I was missing some background about the hero's tortured past, but I felt this book did a good job of explaining that and it gave the character interesting depth. The love story was adorable and fresh, but I wish the narration was just from the female perspective instead of both Garrett and Lola. As well, I wish we could have gotten more time with Garrett's family because it added additional tension that I would have liked to explore more.
I would read more from the author.

I am in love with this book. Garrett and Lola are so good together and the fact that both have been through bad experiences in the past makes them more perfect for each other. Garrett has been kidnapped, tortured, cast aside by his father and stripped from his title but still stands tall when he fights for Lola so they can stay together. He has given so much of himself and his sanity to his county but he draws the line to giving up his true love and I thought that was the sweetest. Garrett is a true hero in my book and so deserving of the title of the crown prince and be the next in line to be king of Wildermar. I really enjoyed this book especially since it kept me entertained all throughout the whole story line. It’s a must read!

***I was given this ARC by NetGalley as an exchange for an honest review.

Royal Treatment
His Royal Hotness, Book 2

I Picked Up This Book Because: I like the author.

The Characters:

Garrett: Former Crown Prince of Wildemar
Lola Barnes: American self made business woman

The Story:

A story of insta lust that turns to love. Garrett is broken from surviving an abduction that lead to three months of torture only to be followed by his father taking away his rightful place in line to become king. Lola happens upon him at a lake while visiting Wildemar to shop for her vintage clothing business. Sparks fly immediately.

I loved Garrett and Lola’s chemistry. Love that Lola is a sassy smarty pants and that Garrett loved her for it. I really loved how they considered each other every step of the way. Even when they got it wrong it came from a place of I want him/her to have/be the best they can.

The story started off really slow for me. So slowly in fact that I didn’t pick the book up at all for a week or so. I’m really glad I gave it a second chance.

2 1/2 stars? I don't know. Look, a lot of people have given Royal Treatment glowing reviews, so this may really be on me. I usually love falling into the fantasy of royal romances, tortured souls, and all that, but this one just fell flat for me. The characters all have interesting story lines in theory but I just didn't care about how they played out on paper.

Being a royal has never looked so awful as it does to Lola. She has met his Royal Hottness and is falling hard and fast as she enters into a temporary agreement to rectify his position as heir since he was demoted to spare after his abduction. Her love for him will help him to open up and overcome his fears.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 24, 2018

•••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--ROYAL TREATMENT is the second instalment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult HIS ROYAL HOTNESS erotic, romance series. This is Garrett, the former crown-prince of Wildemar, and American on-line fashion sales promoter Lola Barnes’ story line. ROYAL TREATMENT can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and backstory I recommend reading the series in order.

NOTE: If you have not read book one –ROYAL PAIN-there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person points of view (Lola and Garrett) ROYAL TREATMENT follows the building relationship between former crown prince of Wildemar Prince Garrett, and American on-line fashion sales promoter Lola Barnes. While in Europe, scouting out vintage and name brand clothing American Lola Barnes will come face to face with the former crown prince of Wildemar Prince Garrett-a bruised, battered and beaten soul who months earlier had been kidnapped, tortured, and starved by a fringe militia group claiming to want the destruction of the Royal family. Seven minutes older than his twin brother Kian (Royal Pain #1) Garrett was targeted in an effort to disrupt the succession to the throne. Meeting flamboyant and strong-willed American fashionista Lola Barnes began a slow break-down of the demons controlling our hero’s life. Garrett will offer Lola a chance of a lifetime to play the ‘fake’ girlfriend to his battered prince, a relationship that turns into something more. What ensues is the building romance between Lola and Garrett, and the potential fall-out as the paparazzi take aim at our story line heroine, and a promise from the King if Garrett is willing to let go of the woman with whom he is falling in love.

Prince Garrett struggles in the face of dark memories, PTSD, and the ongoing humiliation of losing his position as heir to the Royal throne. Believing Garrett to be damaged and compromised, the King revoked Garrett’s birthright by naming Garrett’s twin Kian as the next in line to wear the crown. Lola Barnes is a successful, online business owner, a business that gives her the opportunity to travel the world. A brash and combustible American woman, Lola takes Garrett out of his comfort zone in an effort to show our hero what it is he has been missing and wants.

The relationship between Garrett and Lola is one of immediate attraction but Lola is in Europe on business, a temporary lay-over in Wildemar is about to change her life forever. Garrett has become a bit of a man-wh*re while recovering from his traumatic ordeal. Meeting Lola Barnes sets Garrett on the path to self-discovery, with the knowledge that there is more to his life than wearing a crown. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense.

ROYAL TREATMENT is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love. The premise is heartbreaking and impassioned; the romance is sexy and seductive; the characters are colorful, dynamic and exciting. ROYAL TREATMENT looks at one man’s recovery, and one woman’s ability to break through and destroy the demons that control his mind and his heart.
