“My honesty is ugly”
depraved. erotic. fucked-up. unorthodox…that about sums up what Deeper is but, then again, not really. i can’t even review this to the fullest without ruining the plot, divulging spoilers…
‘No one ever said love had to equal living in the suburbs with a white picket fence or whatever domestic vision you’re cooking up. Love can spark and thrive in any environment out there. The only thing it needs is for the two people involved to nourish it.’

i did like the unconditional love within it, it was my favourite thing, actually, in both the friendships and the romance. that said, i would say that this is more of a ‘dark erotica’ than it is a dark romance. just know that if you’re looking for a safe one, you seriously will not find it here. here, safety doesn't exist.

OMG, Deeper was an amazing read. I never read an ARC the second it hits my kindle but that's exactly what happened with Deeper. I hadn't read anything yet by the author so yesterday when it hit my kindle my plan was to read a a chapter or two or maybe even skim a little to get a feel for the story. That plan get blown away when I started reading the first chapter and I got totally sucked into the story. Page after page just pulled me more into the story and the next thing I knew was it was 12:30am and I was finished the book. I absolutely loved everything about this story.
There is a warning in the beginning so make sure to read that first before starting. It's a dark and twisty story. Rylan and Callen are great characters. There are odd and definitely not conventional. They have their secrets, flaws, and layers. These two are perfect for each other. I don't want to give much away because I went into this one not knowing what to expect and I want that for you too. This one is one you should clear your scheduled and jump right into reading it. If your looking for a great dark and twisty read then this one is for you.

OMFG!!! WHAT IN THE HELL WAS THIS BOOK?!?! I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Yeah, I read the blurb. Yeah, there was a warning. But, still in no way shape or form was I prepared for the ride I was about to take. 'Deeper' was dark, and I mean monster under your bed and the boogeyman hiding in your closet scary. It was twisted and gory and so freaking intense it was hard to breathe. And f*** if it wasn't insane. Damn, these characters were something else, man they were cRaZy!
Rylan is a woman that lives her life with no rules. Her past has a lot to do with how she lives her life now. There are so many layers to Rylan. So many scars that have left permanent damage. Rylan is surrounded by perpetual darkness. And the only light that can possibly touch her broken soul comes in the form of a man that needs her just as much as she needs him.
Callen is a man of many many talents. I mean, can I really say talents? Because, umm, I don't know if "talents" is the right word for the things he does. Whatever, I'm sticking with talents. So, back to Callen. He, just like Rylan, lives his life with no rules. He's ruthless and doesn't give one f*** what anyone thinks. That is until a feisty atomic bomb bulldozes into his life.
Rylan and Callen are destructive. These two characters are so perfect for each other. And not in the hearts and flowers s*** more like their hearts are the same shade of black only meant for the other. The power they bring out in each other is unlike any other. Rylan and Callen bring out the sick in each other. A match made in hell is what these two were.
'Deeper' had so many twists and turns it had my head spinning. There were things that were revealed and I'm like "yeah, I so freaking knew it!" Man, it was one helluva ride. Knowing what I know now, would I still read this book? HELL YES! If you're alright with gore, twisted, dark, and I mean realllllllly dark books. Then I recommend this book. If not, stay away, your innocent eyes don't need to be scarred for life.

Deeper is my first book by Jennifer Michael. The blurb of a book is a huge part of my decision to pick a book (or not), and the blurb of Deeper intrigues me. Based upon the description I had certain expectations about the story, and to my surprise it took a different direction. I thought it would be a BDSM story, but it’s a much more darker and twisted. I love it.
Rylan is shaped by her past; grieve, sadness and anger have changed her from the happy girl she once was into the woman she is today. Maplefield is the small town where she wants to start her life over, but she has desires she can’t ignore. Rylan isn’t shy about her sexual desires, but Callen awakens a more sinister side in her.
Callen is always on the road, going to wherever his job brings him. His field of work is lonely, and doesn’t leave room for friendship or attachment. Seeing Rylan in action awakens a primal part inside Callen, and even though he has no time for distractions, he has to have her.
Lust. That’s what Rylan and Callen feel when they meet each other. Rylan is working on her issues, and Callen is working on a current assignment. Both have an agenda, reasons why they shouldn’t do it, but they can’t ignore their urge. On the surface they are different people, but on the inside both Callen and Rylan are driven by dark needs. Together they are hot, explosive and dangerous.
What the heck did I read? Based upon the blurb I had a few ideas, but the author took me completely by surprise. Rylan and Callen belong in their own category of darkness, and I love it. They are so different from other humans, they think and act in such a different way, but it’s their way. I love the author’s writing style, and the way she makes her characters act and react. And the twist? I didn’t see it coming.
I love Rylan, Callen and their darkness, I give Deeper 4.5 stars.

I don't know if that is bad or good. Really I don't know how to describe this book. The storyline is very good .. seriously but you read at your own risk. The past plays huge role in who these characters are and why they are the way they are. Scars, damage, abuse, pain --
I cannot really go into the story line as there is not much that is appropriate hence the warning but if you like different, if you like good, if you like deep and dark then you need to click this up. Im not sure whether to say thank you or what the hell for this ARC -- LOL -- its a mind freak for sure. This is not a light read so curl up and get ready. I received this book as an ARC to read. I didn't really have much context going into it so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was completely blown away! The story of Rylan and Callen is an incredibly dark and twisted story. I was hooked from the beginning.
When I first started the book I thought I was going to be reading another romance book with a dark theme based on the beginning. I was pleasantly surprised with the direction Jennifer took the book. In no way, did I expect to read what I did. I finished the book a few days ago and am still reeling from a book hangover. The twists and turns kept me intrigued. I think Jennifer did an amazing job of weaving a twisted tale of intrigue.
If you can handle strong sexual themes and violence, make sure to one-click this book at release. I will absolutely keep this book in my collection to re-read later, it was that good.

“We’re depraved, and we get off on the darkness that stirs between us.”
I highly, highly, highly recommend this book to all dark romance readers. It’s probably one of the most unique, interesting storylines I’ve ever read, with outrageously entertaining characters and a thoroughly unpredictable roller coaster ride of a story. However, it just didn’t give me that unexplainable, indescribable 5-star feeling! I wish I knew what it was about this book that didn’t suck me in. Regardless, it is crystal clear that Michaels is extremely talented, and I will definitely read more of her books in the future!

This book is dark, if you have any issues with gore I'd veer clear.
Rylan is a kinky girl, who knows what she wants and she wants power. Either over someone or over herself. It doesn't matter, but power is what she craves. The BDSM club is a perfect place for her to get or give the power. Its there with her new friend Tatus, that she meets the ultimate power player - Callen.
Callen is a simple man, he kills, he f*cks, and he repeats. Never stays long in a place to raise any questions about him. Then he see's the show Rylan puts on with Tatum and knows. He has met his match and needs his Little Bird. Thus begins a tangle of legs and webs around the two. His Red lines blur with the pink of her lines and they fuse together. Creating a monster, that only a powerplay can cure.
But will the power carry them to close to the sun to be burned alive? Or will the power be enough to reign them in and keep them secure? Only time will tell.
This is a dark book. I skimmed some parts that were gruesome, but honestly, nothing was like the movie SAW. About 75% in, the book shifts and I was blindsided by what happened. Never in a million years would I have guessed that to happen and that was freaking amazing.

So I read Jennifer's first two books and loved them! Then I heard this one was dark and didn't wait to get started. My favorite genre of all and this didn't disappoint! Whoa! I mean Callan. And Rylan. You just want to know more and it's hard to put down! Super hot and dark!

First, I am not going into the plot of this book. This is a book you need to read on your own..At your own risk! Why? Because its dark and twisted and one hell of a plot twist..Trust me! Read it, you won't be sorry.
Second, Ever so often I will message the author along the way as I am reading. Especially if its an ARC. I want the author to know how brilliant of a storyline their book is..And I did exactly that with Jennifer.
Ok here it goes. Holy Mother of God. This book was phenomenal!! One of the best dark reads I have ever read. It isnt for the faint at heart. I cringed in some parts. Some parts even made me queasy.
The sex is off of the chains hot. Even in a dark twisted way!!;
If I could give Deeper more than 5 stars I definitely would!!!!

This author was new to me and I got to say for a first read of her work I am in beyond belief, going to be a serious book stalker after this .
But anyways about this book...this is one gory,intriguing,erotic ,thrilling piece of art I've ever read. I couldn't believe what I was reading, when I thought the story was going one way it did a 180 and floored me .
I have never in my life read a story such as this and most likely will never find something this close again. Wow.....I'm still in disbelief,it was that good. I couldn't put it down ,each word had me drawn in panting for more.It had me ,had me bad ...in a good way. FIVE THRILLING STARS

Let me start by that if you can't handle violence or explicit sex in a book, put this one down.
This was such an sayingamazing read! Dark romance at its darkest, but placed together in such a way that it was nearly impossible for me to put it down. These two "love birds" were brought together by vengeance, by tragedy and by fate. Their journey had me crying one minute, and in shock the next. I have never read anything like it.

I have read every word published by this author. Every single one gets better and better.
From the very first chapter of her debut book, Deceit In Bloom, I knew I had stumbled across a diamond in the rough.
Deeper just absolutely confirmed that. I devoured this book. It's fairly common knowledge that I like my romance dark, dirty and dangerous. This is all of those things and so much more.
I really don't know how to express the feels this one has left me with. Page after page interest was piqued. The drama and mystery kept on rising to higher heights. The sex got hotter and darker and everything just twisted.
Callen and Rylan are 2 of the best characters i have come across for a long time. They really made this story come to life.
Take heed of the warnings. It is a very dark and chilling read...but then there's love too. So much love. My heart cried. My heart smiled.

Deeper is an intensely dark read full of blood and sex. This book is a page turner at its finest. The author wrote it in a way that makes the reader experience a vivid range of emotions. Horror, lust and a mixture of the two. The novel is full of twists and turns and definitely is not for the faint of heart. It was almost too dark for me, but I still loved every minute of this dark tale. These characters are incredibly damaged, yet somehow compliment each other perfectly. The story is as mysterious as it is gruesome and sensual. You think things will go one way, and will be completely shocked later on. All in all, another wonderful read from the author.

What in the ever loving heck did I just read?! The plot and story line went in a direction I did not expect and what a pleasant surprise that was. This book is DARK, filthy, and wrong in ways that only a lover of dark books will enjoy. That's all I can say about this one. Wow.

To say this book is dark is quite the understatement, it takes dark and twisted to a whole new level. Read the authors warning, because it is NOT for the faint of heart! More times than not found myself sitting in complete shock at what was transpiring as I sat white knuckling my kindle! 4.5 Mind Blowing Stars
Wow. Ummm, I'm almost at a loss! I have never read this author before, I had no idea what to expect but I did know this was going to be a 'dark romance' and that was enough to get me chomping at the bit for a taste of this story.
It's different in an epic way. It's actually fairly difficult to get into much detail here because I would be so bummed to give away even a sliver of the mystery that this story provides. The thing is, you KNOW who is bad and who is good. You KNOW what's happening because you're privy to what's going on in everyone's head. Ha! You don't know anything! This story has more twists and turns than a gymnastics floor routine. It's erotic and thoughtful, sinful and completely captivating. I dare you to try and put the story down once you've started, it's just not happening.
I won't go into a thousand details about what I liked (and loved) about the MC's because it's pointless here. I want your experience to be as shrouded in darkness and mystery as mine was. I will say that the sensual build up and foreplay was unparalleled, and that I was utterly captivated by both Rylan and Callen. Her brilliant bravery and self understanding is just flipping awesome. She's confident in who she is after years of uncertainty, and it's pretty much everything I wish I could be. He's my biggest weakness, I am an absolute sucker for a REAL bad-boy. I mean, the more psychologically messed-up the man is... the more I want to save him. Add that to his tireless pursuit of the woman he's infatuated with (okay, so it might be a bit stalker-y) and I was a goner.
If you love dark romance, suspense, mystery, intrigue or just enjoy a really darn good book... take a chance on this author. You won't be disappointed.

I love the dark side in books and this delivered just that, but it was also thrilling, brutal, erotic and sexy, I had my head in a spin more than a few times!! The writing was really good and I thought the author’s imagination was superb; which of course added up to make a great read. If you want to be shocked, excited, and taken on the ride of your life, left open mouthed and gasping at what these two memorable characters deliver then go one click this book immediately. This is a fantastic read!!!
Rylan Pierce and Callen Bailer …well let’s just say these two damaged people certainly find a connection that goes way beyond the sex - but the sex definitely gets the blood pumping through your veins and leads to so much more that will make your toes curl and shake your head in disbelief. I loved the characters of Rylan and Callen; the connection was electric and they were both written so well that at times I couldn't tear my eyes away from the page and what they were involved in together.
Was this book a little over the top - yes of course it was but boy I enjoyed the ride these two fabulous characters have taken me on. A thrilling, nail biting, extraordinaire ride; to be honest sometimes you question what you have just read. I was still thinking about these two people the day after I finished the book, they are still in my head and my head hurts just thinking about them.

When I seen the synopsis for this book I knew I just had to read it, the disclaimer was like a beacon to my dark heart.
I questioned this decision for the first 30% of the book as there was some really hot sex and some debauchery, but seemed to lack the dark that was promised…..well don’t fret as the depravity and the immorality comes fast and hard!!
Rylan has fallen so far into a vortex of dark, hell bent on retribution. Callen meets Rylan at a BDSM club where her sexual deviance seduces his wickedness. Their kink goes beyond certain boundaries, they develop a perversion that outright could be considered abnormal, repulsive or obsessive. It may seem maniacal to some, but there could be no other relationship for these two characters. It really is unhinged in a beautiful perfect sort of way.
The way I know we’re the only two people on this earth fucked up enough to be perfect for one another. Our time together, for however long it lasts is something that will mark me forever.
There are plenty of twists, gobs of holy shits, and a whole whack of fucked-up goodness that will leave you in an intoxicated diabolical coma.
Take heed of the warning, it is there for a reason. Please do not read this book if dark romance edged with violence and erotica is not your thing. If it is….then I only have two words to say to you “READ THIS!!”

My usual reading tendencies lean towards light and fun reads, but deep down, my dark and twisty self needs to be fed from time to time, and HOLY HELL BATMAN! Deeper definitely fed that need in a deep & dark way! So, I want to give a warning to those who don't always pay attention to the warnings, THIS IS A SUPER DARK READ! Like seriously, so dark and demented that I found myself singing colorful metaphors loudly the whole time! I'm not going to give my own description, as that would just accidentally give off some serious spoiler douchery, so on with my dramatic emotions of EPIC proportions! Jennifer Michael has a diabolically brilliant writing style that took me on a crazy ride that had me all kinds of jacked up! Her evil twists and turns around every corner, kept the loud f-bombs dropping throughout, which would have rivaled a sailor! By the end of the book, I was about to be in the corner sucking my thumb, as my mind was blown! I cannot wait to read more by this author, and will just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dark masterpiece to all!

I completely devoured Deceit in Bloom and Vengeance in Bloom. After hearing Deeper was much darker, I had to dive in as soon as the ARC hit my Kindle. Let me tell you, I was a little thrown at first with this story because it wasn’t the darkness I expected it was much more. WOAH!!! WTF did I just read LOL. In the beginning, you think Callen is MF crazy but Rylan tops it off. When Callen and Rylan have their first encounter at the club DAMNNNN that was insanely HOT!!! Once you get into the story and their background you get a better understanding of why they do the things they do. The best part is I didn’t even see it coming. I love when this happens. This book was amazing! If you love a dark, twisted as ****, total mind blowing story this one is for you!

What an unbelievable read! From the beginning you begin to fall deeper into this story, it's intrigue, it's gore, it's darkness that will envelope you and make you shiver; and you will love every single minute of it. This story is extremely well written and so very well developed from it's storyline to it's amazing characters. The things that these two bring out in each other is sick, and it is so them. They feed off of each other and are a match made in hell as their hearts are the same color of black, and their sex is as hot as hell itself.
If you love dark reads, by all means grab this book as fast as you can. If you aren't into dark reads, then stay away...run as fast as you can because this book will mess with your mind.
I highly recommend this book to all lovers of dark reads!

HFS this book was amazing. I'm kinda scared that this dark twisty deprived tale turned me on as much as it did. Rylan is a loner who is about to embark on a self discovery journey. Callen is a vagabond who travels the country for work. When these two meet sparks instantly fly. Jennifer Michael takes her readers into a sexy dark deprived world that will leave you panting for more. My mind is blown away with how twisty this book was and I was on the edge of my seat right up until the end. I was very sad it was over because I wasn't ready for my adrenaline high to be over. Callen and Rylan are my new favorite anti hero couple. Their depravity will shock you and turn you on at the same time. I can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve.

This book grabbed a hold of me and sucked me into its delicious darkness. Jennifer Michael is an amazing writer that makes this kinky, dark, twisted and gory book read like poetry. I absolutely loved it! A must read for those who love a good dark story.
