This book was created independently (without a legit publisher) on Create Space via amazon.com by a Susan Hollister which is a fake non existing author. If you google her name she doesn't even exist. If you search the photo of the author and the photos in this book you will find that they are all stock photos. If you use the right SEO tools you will find that the text in this book was stolen from from various websites that explain how to do the yoga poses. If you look at the other books that Susan Hollister wrote she also claims to be an expert on themes that have nothing to do with each other e.g. bitcoin, natural hair care, Facebook marketing, crafting..etc... If you don't believe me check her profile out on amazon.com
These photos are taken from stock images and the text is stolen from other sources without giving credit. The "100 best yoga poses" title is a marketing gimmick for those who don't know they are being scammed. Please tell me how the author can legitimately claim these are the best 100 poses? The author doesn't even exist and if you check amazon this author is an expert on topics that have nothing to do with yoga..this book and author are fooling you.
This book covers 100 different yoga poses by level. It outlines the poses in detail and describes the benefits of each pose. Great For any level who wants a breakdown of the poses.
Recommended for beginners through to advanced. Breathing techniques well explained meditation well explained. A super book for the serious wannbe yogi!

What I liked best about this book was the way it was organized. Each chapter focuses on exercises for a specific area of the body(leg, ships, hands, neck, whole body, etc) as well as a section on mudras and breathing. The is a chapter with sample routines as well as one on creating your own. Each exercise is prefaced with helpful information including the focus, level, time, indications and contraindications. I do wish there was a bit more about the contraindications. For instance, what constitutes an eye problem that would preclude an exercise? Is it something as simple as myopia or something more complicated like macular degeneration? Each exercise comes with a single colored photo of the position. I would have preferred seeing starting and finishing as well but the directions are well written and easy to follow. A helpful, user-friendly guide.
Well, I wouldn't say that the poses illustrated in the books are the best. They are in fact mostly common poses for basic and intermediate levels. Some advanced poses include: the Handstand, the Firefly, the Eight Angle, the Peacock, the Shoulder Press, the Side Reclining Leg Raise, the Bird of Paradise, the Side Crow, the Upward-Facing Two-Foot Staff, the Supported Headstand.
This book is like a compilation of different sources (both texts and pictures) rather than an originally written one with careful and deep research into the field. However, it comes in handy, especially for self-taught yogi as the author notes down necessary information for every pose - the focus of the pose on a Yogi's body, its level, time, contraindications as well as steps to follow.
This is a nice simple beginner friendly book on the benefits of Yoga and popular poses.
The pictures that come with the pose description are perfect and "how to" for performing each pose are very easy to understand for beginners.
I appreciated the added insight into how the poses benefit our Jody and health as well as the routines added at the end to give beginners a good starting point.
Another bonus is the basic hand mudras included in the book.
Definitely a good starting point for anyone interested in Yoga.
I picked this one up on kindle unlimited. Over all what I liked about the book is how the chapters are organized: Legs, Arms & Shoulders, Back, Hips, Neck, Chest, Hands, Whole Body, Breathing Techniques. Some of the instructions were a bit interesting like I am not sure I have ever held a half way lift for 60 seconds, some of the foot positions appeared a little off. Overall a solid book just not a resource I would use as my go to.
Very nice beginner's yoga book. Full explanations well written, but could have used more pictures with contrasting color on the model instead of white on white. I've been doing yoga for decades at home and I still learned a thing or two from this manual. Highly recommended. Lots of good information for those starting out their yoga journey. Best advice: Pay attention to your body!
I found this book when I started to do yoga. It’s informative and useful to understand the poses, their benefits and to know which pose is recommended for beginners, intermediate or advanced people.
I liked how the author provided detailed information on how to correctly perform each Yoga pose. Also, the author gave good information on the benefits and risks involved in performing each pose.
Great for beginners, I was already aware of probably 75% of the information in the book, as I’ve been practicing for quite a few months with various instructors, but it’s certainly no reason to deduct from the rating! Perfect book for those just diving in!
this is not areal author...and they claim to be an expert in things that are so opposite to this I wonder how readers don't bother to do the bare minimum research on an author.
