Madeleine está en serios problemas: embarazada, sola y encima de un hombre que quiere matar a su hermano por cosas horribles. Pero su hermano nunca haría eso verdad?
Nikolai probó a la pequeña Madeleine y ahora no puede quitasela de la cabeza. Pero él tiene un trabajo y también tendrá que protegerla a ella. Pero será suficiente?
Que libro tan terrible. Y para ser tan corto ha sido una desgracia. Hay muchas incongruencias además de que la historia es un muermo.
Primero para empezar al principio en el monólogo interior se Madeleine ella dice que solo ha estado con dos hombres antes, que no es como si Nikolai ha sido su primero. Pero después cuando se narra la historia al completo de como estos dos acabaron acostándose ella le dice a él que era virgen... Excuse me???? 🤔
En fin, después que de repente todo el mundo es un puto psicópata, ella una mentirosa que dice la verdad, luego miente, luego quiere arreglar su mentira diciendo la verdad pero hija, yo ya llegaría a un punto que no te creería ni como te llamas.
Y el final, o sea, nos pasamos 100 y pico páginas esperando para saber si acaban juntos, felices, si ven al bebé nacer, si se casan y tal... Y RESULTA QUE NO NOS DAN NADA!!!! Simplemente en dos líneas el tío le dice: te amo, quiero que vivas conmigo, voy a casarme contigo y tendremos a este bebé. Y ya. Ahí aparece la palabra fin y comete los mocos con esa mierda de final en una sola línea. UNA SOLA LINEA!!!!!!! Por qué demonios he perdido mi tiempo con eso? Y yo que esperaba algo para pasar el rato y resulta que perdí el tiempo 🤦🏻♀️

Too descriptive for my taste. You shouldn't explain the world to the readers, a lot of the explanation was unnecessary, and became boring

1.5 -Ugh -estrellas
*SPOILER ALERT*
Madeleine jamás pensó que se sentiría tan atraída por el guapo pero misterioso hombre que conoce en un bar. No se supone que tenga la mejor noche de su vida y que encima le provoque querer algo más que una sola noche.
Pero su suerte sólo está por empeorar.
Después de esa única noche, Madeleine descubre que está embarazada. No sabe qué debe hacer, si contactar a Nikolai o si debe criarlo ella sola, ¿las cosas podrían ser peores?
Sí, sí pueden.
Nikolai no es solo el hombre que podría tenerla enamorada, sino que también es el hombre que está buscando a su hermano para matarlo.
Ugh. Estoy comenzando a odiar los libros que tienen esta clase de portadas, que para empezar, todas se ven iguales, pero además, los libros que he leído que comparten la temática de portada, también resultan ser muy malas lecturas.
Para empezar, la protagonista es un desastre. Sus pensamientos son dispersos a más no poder y llegó un momento en que su monólogo interno fue demasiado. Para mí fue la clásica niña tonta que no sabe qué hacer con su vida. Pero eso es todo. No tiene gracia, no tiene ninguna cualidad salvable.
Nikolai no es mejor, el personaje es un conjunto de todos los clichés de hombre malo y mafioso. No aportó nada nuevo y la verdad es que su indecisión fue cansada para mí.
La relación que ella tiene con su hermano tampoco se me hizo algo significativo, fue más como un pretexto para darle ese toque de amor prohibido. Y la forma en la que ella huye con él porque piensa mal de Nikolai, fue lo peor de todo. Otra vez, un pretexto para que él vaya y la salve.
El final fue horrible, nada de emoción, nada que deje al lector siquiera contento de que por fin lograron su final feliz. Nope. No da nada.
Muy mala lectura.

DNF at 43%. This was my second book by Sophia. Sadly once again it fell short of my expectations. Not that I had many to begin with with this sort of story. Anyway, I couldn't stand the heroine Madeline. Lord, that child was naive. It was never stated but I assumed she was around 22 with the mention of finishing her last semester and all. Nonetheless. She got on my nerves. Didn't care for her. From what I saw the hero Nikolai wasn't so bad. Too much nattering on and on in both if their heads, especially Madeline's.
Another thing was the book blurb claimed she was a virgin. Only to open the book with her figuring out she's knocked up, and while counting up her last periods mentions she wouldn't usually freak out about this if it had been a couple years ago because she "didn't have sex often and had only been with two guys." OKAY THEN. Then goes on for her to act the virgin when the sexytimes first happened with Nikolai in the flashback we're given even if there was no description of any proof of said virginity other than her being shy and "tight" .... So whatever.
Lost interest. Dumb heroine. Author couldn't get the facts straight. The end.

This book had potential, but there was so much internal dialogue I got bored. And it was repetitive at that. I skimmed quite a bunch of it because I wanted to see how it ended, and it ended quite abruptly, I mean she just accepts that he killed her brother and these other people? And who was the other guy at the end that attacked the "hero"? This story needed more of a story. And they loved each other? They didn't have any time to love each other because they spent so much time with the internal dialogue. They met maybe twice. Had sex both times. not much more interaction than that, not enough to actually fall in love with someone...lust maybe. ugh. And the heroine was dumb. I know she was raised a particular way, but come on.

I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book. Great book. Madeline is in a bind. After a night with a sexy stranger she finds herself sick... and pregnant. She never expected to see that stranger after their night ended but finds that the heat of that night has not cooled. Nikolai has a job that he is good at, but one that scares people away. He cleans up for his bosses and get the job done. But the current job leads him back to Madeline and leads Madeline into a dark world. Can the hit man save his prize?

This was not my favorite Sophia Gray book, but it was still a good read. Madeline met Nikoli at a bar and spends the night with him. Two months later, she discovers she's pregnant and undecided about what to do. She hasn't seen Nikoli since their night together when he shows up looking for her brother, who he is supposed to kill for the Russian Mob. There is plenty of action, plenty of steam and enough twists and turns that kept my attention the biggest complaint I had with the book is that it ended with several unanswered questions. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A ver, la idea está buena, buena narración, me gustaron los personajes, pero la historia me supo incompleta. Demasiado. El final apresurado, los cabos sueltos pero a fatal, todo me indica de que debería haber una segunda parte, la cual no hay, según veo. Así que no sé cómo tomarme este libro que, quitando esos dos puntos desagradables, es muy bueno.
Me da pena, porque al ir leyéndolo, estaba segura que daría más de lo que encontré.

I happily received this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the suspense of who this person was that Nikolai got hired to kill. Shawn really annoyed me. I want my very own Nikolai. Overall I was very happy with this story!

No me gusto mucho el libro, la historia estaba como incompleta, todo pasaba muy rápido. Daba incluso para otro libro por que habian cosas que no se entendían.
Solo le doy 2 estrellas por que es sobre mafia, algunas escenas bien desarrolladas pero no daba para más :/
