Jonathan thinks Cin is too perfect to be real. He’s right.

As the top investigative reporter for Global Daily, Jonathan travels all over the world. Three weeks in Tortola, covering the story of the disappearance of twelve women, sounds like heaven. After all, the island is one of the most beautiful in the world. He doesn’t have many leads. The women only have one thing in common. They all went missing from the same club—Consume. Fifteen minutes into visiting the club, Jonathan sees him, and the world slips away.

Cinaed, better known as Cin, spots Jonathan the moment he walks through the club’s door. It’s obvious the man is out of place. Cin slips into Jonathan’s mind, catching visions he can’t shake. He’s never wanted a human for anything other than blood and sex, but Jonathan is different. That’s why Cin has to keep the man addicted to being in his bed and send him home safely. There’s nothing in Tortola for Jonathan except death.

Once Jonathan’s three weeks are at an end, it doesn’t take long for him to realize something is wrong. His trip has been—at best—a hazy memory of steamy nights, and he never spent a moment researching his story. No matter how deep he digs into the recesses of his brain, there’s nothing except the sexy Scot he met at Consume. With a burning need to know everything, and a deep fear he’s been drugged to keep him from his investigation, Jonathan cashes in his extensive vacation time before setting out to break this story. This time, he’s determined he won’t let anything keep him from the truth, even if it means finding out Cin is the man behind everything.

Author note: This is a short introduction into my new M/M vampire series, Hellish. It was first published in the anthology Vampires of the Caribbean.

I wish I had read the blurb for the next book before starting this one. I would never have picked it up otherwise. This started out great and I was a bit shocked at the twist and was anxious to see where it was going to go. And then the scene with Niall and Jonathan in the kitchen happened. But I was like okay, I'll shoulder on through and see. And then it became apparent this was going to be a love-triangle which is my second most hated troupe. So I read the blurb for the second book. Yep! It was going to go there so I'm out.

Damn! I'm so disappointed.

Smexxy vamps are my fav, and I devoured this short by Charity Parkerson. “I’m about to kiss you…” Cin lives up to his name and his tale is swoon worthy! This is an introduction to what looks to be an ongoing series! If you luvs your vamps hawt, then be sure to snag this m/m smexxy short by Charity Parkerson! You will be Consumed!

So it begins....

***4.13 stars***

Warning: This book ends in a cliffhanger. You have been warned.

For what this is, it is awesome! I take this short story as a start to a wonderful start to an ongoing suspense with a romantic part to it. I do love everything that is Cin and Johnathan. I promise you will understand when you read. I surely enjoyed not only that, but the conflict at the end. I am left wondering about that and of course the mystery they are still left to solve.

Again, this story is very short so there isn't too much development in regard to the world the author created, nor the characters as we are only given so much information. I do hope this will be remedied as the series progresses. However, even with that said this book kept me entertained and wanting more.

Okay, let's be real: I wasn't expecting much from this. Saw it free, sounded interesting enough and here we are.

It had some intriguing ideas, and I was here for them. However, the writing style left a lot to be desired. In general. But it was made so much worse by the sexy man, the man's, the dude's... etc. It tones that part down a bit at least after Jonathan gets Cinaed's name but it's still present. Mostly changes from the to his which isn't much better. Also, all the typos.

Apparently, Jonathan and Cin had a lot of sex in the beginning and some kinky stuff: There was nothing he'd suggested that Jonathan turned down. Most men would've cried uncle after the first night. Unfortunate. At the least, some good smut could have helped. We only see one or two scenes - one I remember for sure, which was short and quick and interrupted.

And clearly Jonathan has a death wish. Regardless of whatever was going on in his personal life, what happens at the docks is beyond ridiculous.

The concept is very interesting and I might've continued it despite the above because of that. However, I also thought that they were going into MMM territory which would work perfectly for this but, by the description of the next, it's a love triangle and no thanks.

This is a short story to introduce us to the world of vampires, werewolf, shifters, demons and every other creature you can imagine with Jonathan in the middle. He is a journalist and investigating the disappearance of young girls and when he gets too close to the truth the world, as he knows it, pivots on its axis. He is a human, but apparently a king from America as well, who needs to keep the balance. Then disaster strikes and he dies, only to be brought back to live by Niall, a dark prince from Scotland. Now he's bond to Niall, but he still loves Cin as well. Jonathan's special powers, as Goddess Celestes grandson, soon come in place and a love triangle becomes everything he depends on. So far there are 12 books in this series and we come to know more and more creatures on the way, each finding their mates for live. Charity tips on a lot of different subjects, from physical and mental abuse to deep love, mischief and innocence. I have read the entire series in one go and couldn't put it aside. I love this mystical world and the sweet love it brings. You can indulge in a lot of hours of reading pleasure.

This was very short, but a good start for, what it seemes like an interesting series. I have a little trouble getting myself into the story. Everything felt too rushed at the begining and it seemed like the kind of relationship I don't like reading, something just driven by lust with no emotions involved. It was a good thing I keep reading because the more I read, the more interesting it became.

I liked the main characters, I'm not particularly in love with them but they are nice enough to make me care for them. There are some great twists that keep me intrigued and, even though I didn't like the ending that much, I'm so interested on see what the events might mean for their relationship. I'm surely planning on keep reading the next instalments on the series.

Interesting first book (novella really) in this paranormal romp with vampires and demons galore. Parkerson writes great m/m bonding books and this is no exception. She creates an interesting universe of vamp clans fighting demons as they all try to keep themselves hidden from humans, while feeding on them in their own ways. This is super sexy with dashes of romance and suspense. You'll read it in one big gulp!

The beginning

Intro to a whole new world...it confused me at first but the more you read it started coming together. It's short but I hope the next will be longer. Cin and Jonathan and the rest of the clan have already peaked my interest and I can't wait to uncover more about them.

This is a new to me author and this is also a bit out of my normal reading genres, but, wow. I love the mix of MM romance/Vampires and suspense. This is a prequel, so there are a lot of characters to take in, but Jonathan, Cin and Niall seem to be in for one long ride together. Looking forward to diving into the rest of the series. Yeah, I'm hooked!

Awesome start to a series. This is a short read that leads right into a great paranormal series. I immediately bought the rest of the books after reading this. Unique take on vampires and demons, and other paranormal surprises along the way. You'll fall in love with each character wanting to know more. Jonathan is amazing right off the bat. Can't wait for the next.

Very fun, and intriguing

I thought that it was bit of when, in the beginning of this story, Cin thought of himself as a werewolf, but actually turned out to be a vampire. It was probably just a typo, but it threw me for a bit.

I am very excited to see where this goes in the next books.

Great read

I read a lot of Charity's books. This one is awesome. The mix of MM and vampires is icing on the cake. Jonathan is secretly in love with Cin. But Cin keeps pushing him away. Jonathan is on a story to find missing women and why. It was filled with sexy vampires and nasty little demons. Hopefully Cin will ask Jonathan to stay this time.

This has to be an early work for this author. The writing just isn’t as good as current projects. Very chaotic and jumps around not making sense at times. I’m also not into poly and this cliff hanger leads me to believe it’s going in that direction

I really enjoyed the M/M & Paranormal combo and think it will make a very good series. It felt a little rushed at times, but I guess that's to be expected with an intro.
I would recommend!
