Kat left her job six years ago to open a landscaping business and pursue a less dangerous lifestyle. She would never consider the offer her old partner and mentor Franklin Garrett makes her if she didn’t owe him: She’s supposed to look after his daughter Willow during his absence, using her business for a cover story. Kat’s situation is further complicated by Willow’s interest in her. Can she trust her to be serious? Does she want her to be? Kat soon learns that the danger is real, and she has to make some hard decisions…
Raven J. Spencer, lesbian, married, loves everything sensual and indulgent which led her to write erotic romance and fantasies. When she's not writing, you can often find her on Pinterest in the pursuit of inspiration.
A quick entertaining read as far as the interesting twist in the romance is concerned (4 stars), as for the action/mystery(?) plot it felt rushed and there were too many moments when I rolled my eyes at how little of it was credible (2 stars) all together just three stars for this.
Interesting premise, but wishy-washy characters and even flimsier plot - then a Threesome, for some reason?
Why not just label it as erotica and be done with it, instead of pretending this is some serious novel with an actual plot, when it's just porn. Sigh. The bait and switch just pisses me off.
Kat finds herself assigned with looking after the rich daughter of one of her former colleagues, but ends up with a lot more than she bargained for, her hands full, and an action packed adventure on top of it all.
Providing a fast paced, exiting adventure with a hint of erotica, Willow gives the reader all the drama and action of a full blow Hollywood blockbuster in a novella. Raven J. Spencer pulls out all the stops to deliver excitement and uncertainty, as Kat and Willow race against time to escape a dangerous situation alive. I was hooked from the very beginning, getting lost in the plot, and wrapped up in the details of the action packed plot.
All I wanna know now is, what’s next for Kat and Willow because this book has set up some pretty interesting possibilities.
Kat and Willow have instant attraction, which is on fire, especially as Kat tries to remain professional and Willow isn’t afraid to be shy with all her flirting and come ons. Kat was definitely my favourite character, she is a strong woman, with good morals, and a heart of gold, but she is human, and when her feelings show through she is passionate and driven, which really brings her character alive.
An exciting book that will leave you wanting to know what the future holds in store.
So I read this on the Kindle program. The book is good started a bit slow for me there is some intrigue even some action. Willow is the daughter of a friend that Kat is supposed to be looking after. Kat and Willow's father used to be in a government agency and Kat left for reasons explained in the book. Willow was previously married and is no shrinking violet she runs her own business and is into cybertech she also introduces Kat to a threesome and even Willow's ex-husband wants a threesome it seems to be a thing with the characters in the book. This is more of a spy story than a bodyguard story but enjoyable none the less.

Kat had quit her highly classified job at a secret government agency after almost dying in the field and being betrayed by the woman she loved. Now her former colleague, Franklin Garret, who saved her on her last mission, came to collect a favour. Protect his daughter, Willow, for three months and redo his landscaping. How will two betrayed women find healing and love. A sapphic romance by a great author.
It begins in a way a lot of ex special agent turned bodyguard romance begins. But somewhere in the middle it begins to have strange loopholes how the characters act, or how the ex-husband knows something he couldn't know at all - or someone doesn't care as much about their own security as suggested in the beginning.
It's one of those book, what could have been better based on the original idea.
This is a good "spy" story with several threads running through it. I never knew which thread would lead to a revelation and resolution, or a phony dead end. That held my attention and also the romance. Whew, a taste of spice! I'd recommend this book for a great quick read.
This was an excellent and exciting story. At one point you did not know who to trust. There was so much going on, good and bad. Kat and Willow’s chemistry from their first meeting was the catalyst for the story. I loved it!
For some reason I really couldn’t get into the characters. I didn’t have a vested interest in them. Overall, though, I enjoyed it. Side note: as a proofreader/editor, there were several errors which always make me stumble.
I enjoyed this book very much. An interesting plot involving double crossing secret agents, lies, lies and more lies, and a "silly girl" who is anything but. Well written, fast paced and a core romance that pulls you through the story. I’ll be reading more by Ms Spencer.
I love stories about bad ass women who are government agents and all the sneaky stuff they get into. This was a really great story that hit ask the marks.
