Anything But Minor YES! Kate Stewart has done it again! But that's not a surprise to me. She excels in every thing she writes. She's my favorite author and she never disappoints. Anything but Minor is another smash! Home run!
I loved Alice. My god how I loved her! She was so humble, brave and down to earth. Her quirky sides were hilarious and relatable. I could easily see myself in her with her obsession with 80's movies(I'm an 80's girl) and Google but who can't! Just genius Kate Stewart. I think I might have a girl crush on Alice. She was nothing but spectacular in every way. From her smart brains, to her sensible attitude and beautiful, good heart. Rafe made me swoon continually. I loved how he came off as a cocky and sexy ball player but showed so much depth, love and determination behind his abs and good looks. Alice and Rafe clicked instantly for me. They complemented each other perfectly. Alice might come off as a nerd but Rafe SAW her. For who she truly was and embraced every quirky side of her. He even gained some of hers. I felt their connection and jumped aboard the Alice and Rafe train. It was funny and romantic with some sexy times too. Very sexy indeed and I loved and devoured them. I loved Alice and Rafe! Together and individually.
The secondary characters were spot on as well. Dutch, Andy and Kristina were fabulous and important to the story. To Alice and Rafe. I was interested in them and they mattered to me. That's just one of the many reasons why I love Kate Stewart! Every character has something that intrigues me, fascinates me and here it was all of them. Stewart's writing is excellent as usual. She keeps me glued to the pages and rereading sentences because they hit something within me. She tried a new genre, the romantic comedy genre and she masters it. To perfection. It had everything I could have asked for in a Kate Stewart book and more. She just proved why she's my favorite author. So much heart, soul and love. In her writing, her stories and her characters.

Major Love It's pretty obvious that I'm a huge Kate Stewart fan. So far she hasn't steered me wrong or disappointed me with her stories or characters. She excels in creating relatable, compassionate and human characters that I instantly gravitate towards. Andy and April also appear in Anything But Minor. Major Love can be read as standalone but why on earth would you rob yourself of Alice and Rafe's story who also appear in Major Love. Their friendship with Andy and April is very important to both couples and their dynamics are fantastic and filled with humorous and lovely moments.
First of all let me tell how much I loved April and Andy. I was intrigued and curious about them in Anything But Minor and in Major Love they made my heart and soul sing. They both had so much personality and charisma that they immediately jumped into my heart and stayed firmly put. April were out of this world fantastic. Her job as a 911 operator only showed how strong she was and how she made a difference to other people's lives when she was at work. Also her unconditional love and support for her sisters and their children were heartwarming and so freaking beautiful. She took care of others, put them first. She came second always. That's until she met the sexy and kindhearted former ball player Andy who was dealing with a broken heart. He was such a good and beautiful man who didn't want to hurt April yet he couldn't escape her either. Their connection and relationship were so well developed that I enjoyed every moment of them together. They had so much chemistry and their bantering was so much fun. Their relationship took its time because of Andy's insecurities and wanting to do right thing but it was so well written that it only strengthened their connection. Yes, they had hot sex and it was fantastic and also memorable. Kate Stewart knows how to make it interesting and fun. April definitely brought back Andy a much better man than what he used to be and together they were the perfect match.
Once again Kate Stewart has delivered another hit. Her prose is flawless and how she mixes romance and humor feels effortless. I laughed and swooned throughout Major Love. Brew Master Andy and Shero April have definitely captured my heart.
Personally for me it was a bit hard to get into it, but once I was in I really enjoyed it! Alice is easy to like, she has no filter and that just makes for hilarious scenes. Rafe is a baseball player who needs a scout to come see and get him with the big shots.
I really liked this one it wasn't as much drama filled then others, so it was an enjoyable read.
Book 2 Mayor Love
To be very honest I liked this one way more then the first one. Why? I'm not sure. I laughed quite a bit with them both. The are so funny together! I really liked April and Andy they are perfect together and a lot of funny things happen to them! But why waste 15 years of your life with someone you just live next to and is just for granted? In the end how many people live like that..
I'm sorry for this short review, but I have little time left these days
5+++++++++ MAJOR LEAGUE STARS⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ I reviewed each of these books separately so you can check them out. I will say this...the Golden Sombrero (novella at the end of the series) made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants!!! Kate Stewart’s writing is truly effortless and sucks you in no matter what it is. She has the hook and the power to make you forget everything whilst reading. Her characters are funny, moving, soulful, fierce, badasses, brilliant people that you think are real. She never disappoints and always has you ready for more. I finished this and wondered “now how long until the new book😩” Stellar series!
Loved it loved it!!! I'm not a great at leaving reviews but this series deserves my recognition !!! I loved the series and this time these heroine are the reason why!! ALICE I HAVE A GIRL CRUSH!!!
I loved this series! That extra epilogue (The Golden Sombrero) was awesome!!
Anything But Minor - Funny steamy and sweet! Rafe and Alice are an absolute treasure!
I laughed so hard reading this wonderful story. It's about complete opposites Alice and Rafe. She's a nerdy 80s movie loving pilot that is a newbie to Charleston. He’s a hometown playboy playing in the minors waiting to be called to the MLB.
While their meeting may not be the right time for them to fall in love, you can’t help fate. Alice and Rafe were so meant to be. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this baseball romcom. It hit me in the funny bone and the feels. Alice is by far one of the most memorable FMCs I have ever come across. She was so different, and gosh darn delightful. Rafe complimented her personality well. I loved that he was drawn to her and all her quirky little personality traits.
These two bring it in the bedroom, car, beach…you name it. Perfectly sexy! And Rafe, what can I say besides SWOON! This freaking guy turned out to be the absolute sweetest, most thoughtful man. I wish I had me a Rafe Hembrey.
Major Love - A Home Run Hit Sports Rom!!
Major Love was so good! If it wasn’t for life, I would have stood glued to my kindle to finish this story. I love how KS hit me in the feels with Andy and April’s story. It was so much more angsty than Rafe and Alice’s story (Anything but Minor).
Both April and Andy have been through so much heartbreak, but Andy had really been put through the wringer. He was determined not to fall in love and get hurt again and yet… April was perfect for him. Just like April, I totally fell in love with Andy right from the start. Even at his absolute lowest, Andy wore his heart on his sleeve.
These two build a beautiful relationship. I laughed at all the SWAG, I cried at their heartbreak, I wanted to scream in frustration at Andy to freaking remember, and boy did I fan my face. That bar scene, HOT HOT HOT. I will never think of whiskey the same again.
Absolute must read!
Sweeping the Series - Angsty and steamy second chance sports rom!
Phew **Wipes brow** Wow. What a page turner, I finished this in one sitting. I loved reading Ren and Erica’s story. KS is the master at bringing the angst and it was strong with this one.
The frustration and anger Ren held on to was palpable. Erica’s heartbreak and regret was chest aching.
These two had so much love for each other that it was never lost between them. Their chemistry was explosive. KS knows how to bring the steam to the page.
4.5 stars for the first book in the Balls in Play box set.
So I kinda finished this but at the same time I sorta didn't. I blame it on the first books couple just being so awesome together and then me just losing interest in the second books couple and just losing steam so to speak.
The first book in the series Minor Play (don't quote me on that though ;) follows Alice and Rafe's relationship and honestly I really loved these two together! Alice was freaking awesome! Like the scene where she set Rafe's shirts on fire was straight up hilarious! They were just a passionate and funny couple and I loved reading about them.
The second book Major Play follows Rafe's good friend Andy and his love interest April. And I'm not sure what happened but I was just not feeling them. After getting halfway through that story I just decided to call it quits to the rest of the box set.
I really think it's a case of it being my fault and the books fault so I actually do recommend trying this series!
Just What I Needed After suffering one of THE WORST book hangovers ever, a dear friend recommended this boxed set by the same Author that almost ruined my reading future. The 4 book antidote was terrific, in fact the first 2 books had me actually laughing out loud and after crying my eyes out this was a welcomed event. Alice in book one Anything But Minor and April from Major Love are the real stars in their books, oh their men Rafe & Andy are hotter than hell and worthy heros, but the women shine. The third book Sweeping The Series has a little more serious tone to it but poor Erica doesn't have a shot at sadness once Alice & April appear in her life. Erica's man Ren needs some work, but Erica is more than qualified. The final story The Golden Sombrero brings the hilarity full circle. Kate Stewart left a hole in my heart with Flock & Exodus - but Balls In Play has started my healing - what's not to love.
This series was not great, and I love some other books by this author so I know she can do an excellent job...
Some of the scenes were confusing and felt like important context was missing. And, while there weren’t a ton of grammatical errors, the ones I noticed were pretty glaring - like in book 2, and entire paragraph is repeated. I was also put off by the amount of religion involved (at least in book and). The characters were ok, and so was the story. Nothing about this series felt very remarkable.
Apparently neither the author nor her editor know the meaning of the word "scorned", which continuously threw me from each story as it was repeatedly misused. Some problematic colonizer language should be cleaned up; it should have actually been done while assembling the box set. Also, book two was just too long. I hate when authors add drama or misunderstanding for no good reason. It didn't add anything to the story, and I found myself bored and uncaring towards the characters. Disappointed in the reread.
I read all 3 books already and got this set to read the golden sombrero. I loved it. I love the progression of the characters in this series and how they tie together. The storylines are good and the author does such a great job of making the characters come to life. All of the books are very well written, move quickly, and each story gets better. I absolutely recommend!
Man oh man these characters are hot! I think I'm going to officially change my sport from football to Baseball after this series. I love how Kate cross references past characters and memories into all her books. Seriously room 212! I about lost it. Every one is intertwined beautifully and each story is gripping to the end. Some stories I could have done without so much of the lengthy sex, but over all worth the read.
I love Kate’s books, always so beautifully written and this set is no exception. The romances are sweet and passionate. The characters are genuinely likeable and there’s no contrived or juvenile drama, it’s realistic, adult situations. I know absolutely nothing about baseball but that doesn’t matter at all and didn’t in anyway make these books any less enjoyable.
I bought this box set so that I could get my hands on the novella at the end: The Golden Sombrero. It didn't disappoint, my only complaint is that I want more. More stories, more info, more babies. This whole series is fantastic and I couldn't stop reading. Ending with Rafe and Alice was perfect (but I still want more 😉) 💜💜💜
This is the first I’ve read by this author and does it get any better than baseball players and romance? I love a good Southern theme too but little did I know one of these would be set in my home state and even include a South Carolina Gamecock fan! Loved that detail thrown in! Will check out future work by this author after reading this enjoyable series.
Men who cherish wife and family . Each character unique in talent and life story. The challenges faced by athletes to have a relationship a healthy vibrant marriage.Hot men ,hot sexy women funny, that. Sizzles New favorite author Kate Stewart.
Such a great set of books! I have so many books in my TBR that I don't usually finish a series so I decided on a box set. Soooo happy that I did and that I picked this one! The books kept me laughing and falling head over heels for the heroes and the women who keep them on their toes! Just all around beautiful stories and very well written!
Really good books, with a little of love, comedy, sadness... just everything, whuch make thrm perfect to read. What I love the nost was that they really show what true love means.
Amazing characters and stories. First book, have Kleenex handy. Still all have HEA but getting there has some bumps. My first time ready from this author but won't be my last. Even though it is listed under Romance Comedy, it has great, dirty, and funny sex scenes!
This series was a great pleasure to read. The author did an awesome job of drawing me in to the feelings of the characters in all of the stories. There were many parts that made me laugh really hard. This is one of the the best written series I've read in a very long time.
I enjoyed the novella at the end. I read all of the other books separately. It was sweet to get a little more Alive and Rafe. They are so good together and it's nice to see them STILL in love, playing ball, and expanding their families.
I loved this series. I laughed out loud multiple times while reading this series. You feel like you know the characters and are rooting for them. Highly recommended.
Kate Stewart is in my group of favorite authors. I have NO DOUBT she will give me a phenomenal read. This box set is no exception. It’s like you’re actually sharing a life with her characters. I want to be friends with Alice and April. 🙂
These books were hilarious and touching. Every book by Kate Stewart is pure gold. Rafe and Alice were such a cute couple, but April and Andy were my favorite. I also loved the cameos with Rowdy and Michelle from the brave line.
4.5 stars!! I totally enjoyed this series. It was a funny read and you got to enjoy the characters too. I loved the ups and down and the feisty and funny women. Definitely a must read!!
Sweet stories about amazing ball players that love their women above all. Of course there is a pinch of drama while they find their way but overall a fun light read.
