Patrick Tylee is an award-winning author of six Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels. He's always working on the next story, and wishes it didn't take a year to publish a book. Patrick's favorite moments are when he's able to personally meet with fans at conventions and author events.
What I Did Like: +The technology is intriguing. It’s intended to be immersive and it really is. The author didn’t spent too much time explaining the technology to us and yet, from the usage, we understand exactly what it is and what it’s capable of. +The themes are strong without being obvious. Sometimes a YA novel can be heavy handed, making the same point repeatedly, this doesn’t do that. It drives it home beautifully and subtly. +Once the police get involved this one moves at the perfect pace. It keeps your pages turning!
Who Should Read This One: -Scifi fans who also want a blend of coming of age story and a touch of humanity will love this one.
Patrick Tyree weaves this tale of a coming of age from two different perspectives. One an alien entering a world of emotions and consequences completely unfamiliar to her. Another, a human launched into situations in which he quickly needs to mature. It's a great story with twists and turns that kept me guessing. I certainly didn't find this book predictable. Plenty of action, and certainly character development will keep the reader engaged up to the last page.
