Africa, my Africa

Rate this book
There’s something about being born in the heart of Africa… Africa is a wild place. My Africa had elephants, and lions, and snakes… which led to some encounters that were scary, and others that were downright funny. My Africa nursed me at the breast in Bulawayo, carried me in her bosom through Hwange, Durban, Pretoria, Windhoek, Otavi, Johannesburg… then delivered me to her southernmost mellow shores – Cape Town – from where I flew away. This is the story of that African journey. No, did I say journey? It was more like an ongoing adventure!

A delightful read

This short memoir gives an insight into the author’s love for the continent that was her home from childhood and into adulthood. What a wonderful place to have grown up. What a wealth of experiences that she enjoyed, from encounters with Africa’s wildlife to living in several of its vibrant cities and experiencing a different side to Africa. Sit down with a cup of tea and spend an afternoon with this book. I guarantee you will enjoy it.
