Jenny hasn’t seen her sister, Sophie, in two years. When Sophie comes to Dallas to visit, Jenny is excited. During the visit, when Sophie tells her sister that her new house is in a nudist resort in Florida, Jenny is mortified. This is news that begins to set up conflicts in Jenny’s mind. At first she questions Sophie’s judgment. As she listens to Sophie’s reasoning and life experiences, Jenny begins to question her own perspectives. Why is she so modest about her own body, which borders on shame? Why does she and her husband, Paul, hardly ever see each other nude? Why is she so self-conscious about her stretch marks and her sagging breasts, when such things are normal for middle-aged mothers? Sophie wants her sister to come to Florida with her family for a visit, which brings on more conflicts. Even if Jenny is open to the idea, her husband wouldn’t be, and she would never subject her children to adult nudity. Yet she has always considered herself to be an open-minded and practical woman. Does she want to spend the rest of her life devoid of new adventures? Does she want her kids to grow up with the same misgivings she has always had about the human body? Her misgivings begin to seem like a psychological prison. Jenny and Paul continue to discuss the issues revolving around a Florida visit. They eventually realize there is no practical reason to maintain a negative mindset. After discussing the matter with their children, they decide to go through with it. Will the experience reverse all their old preconceived notions about social nudity, or will the visit become an instant disaster?
What a great concept for book enthusiast. If you're like me, you want to find out a little about the book before it goes on your reading list. This is a great place to learn more.
During the past year, I have been working on what I call "The Nudist Series". This is a series of tales about the nudist lifestyle, the people that enjoy clothes-free activities, and how they discovered nudity and became involved. No two books in the series are alike, as nudists are as diverse as society in general.
If you are a nudist and enjoy this genre, or if you are one of thousands that are intrigued by social nudity, take a look at the books available on the subject, and perhaps you'll find a reason to give it a try.
I've lived in Dallas most of my life and have been writing for many years. My favorite hobbies are reading and bike riding. Here in old east Dallas, we have a beautiful nine mile trail around White Rock Lake. I also enjoy cross-country cycling, especially out in far west Texas, where the soul is nourished by the sky, the mountains and the desert terrain.
I found this book to be a interesting read, as a Englishman with a American wife. I can see some of the issues raised, I have no problem being naked. But my wife like a lot of American people do, as I tell her it is because they are still living in the Victorian age. 😊
An exploration of nudism and the fears and doubts textiles have about nudist lifestyle. An excellent way to open the eyes and hearts to the freedom nudism brings
Interesting take on becoming a nudist, mainly because it’s very close to what actually happens to people open minded enough to actually give the “lifestyle” a chance. From the younger family members to the elder adults. Martin Brant explains what it’s like, how some people feel and what really happens.
Very few mistakes, there are nudist resorts near Cincinnati, one was actually in Cincinnati when the story was written, (it closed sadly the same year), and well worth the read, especially if your curious about nudism and wondering if you would give it try.
While the resort in the story isn’t named, it closely resembles an existing resort in Kissimmee, Florida very near Orlando. And would be a great place to visit for anyone who is ready to find out just how great living “clothes free” is.
The story is very strong with a cast of likeable characters, all with their own views with nudity that shift throughout the course of the story. It's briskly paced and tells fun story in a relatively short amount of time.
This a cute little light short story of a family that reluctantly discovers naturism through a family member. I found there was a lot of typos, missed words, and a lot of grammar errors, but once you get passed that it is worth a read.
Was well written, and thought out by Mr Grant well described on feelings of the sister and husband about there children. Before and after dress and undressed.
This is an inspiring and educational introduction to the worries of many non-naturists and their resolution once someone simply experiences the simple joy found in living nude. Very good story and quite realistic in my opinion.
