Samuel Gibson has been called many things. Brooding. Arrogant. Narcissistic. And he’s in no hurry for anyone to think anything different, until he meets Lily Pearce. There’s an allure to Lily’s prickly demeanor, and Samuel starts to wonder if it’s time to correct some of the misconceptions trailing behind him like a mile of bad microphone cord.

After watching her brother get chewed up and spit out by the hedonistic world of rock and roll, Lily has no love for the music scene or anyone in it. So her unwanted attraction to the personification of everything she hates about that lifestyle—Samuel Gibson—drives her crazy. But glimpses of the Sam beneath the reputation make her start to wonder if there’s more to this man who keeps his true self hidden.

Each book in the Heart of Fame series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Lexxie’s not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It's the best of both worlds - old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

And silly she can be. Just ask her husband who frequently has to endure her bursting into song whenever the mood strikes her, feeling him up in public (one of her favorite pastimes), or rolling around in the sand with their dog - a large mutt of dubious origins who causes almost as much havoc around the neighborhood as Lexxie herself. Or squealing her way down the slide at the local park with her daughter!

Lexxie lives by two simple rules - measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she's laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

What was not to love about this one? I loved Samuel's story. But let's tackle the number one criticism I've been reading about this book, how hard and fast he fell. Allow me to share with you all as a writer of romance myself, we are constantly hounded to give it to you all fast and dirty. Unrealistic in real life? Maybe, but this is romantic fiction folks, open your minds. As a fellow Rock Star Rogue Author, our characters live the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Therefore, when they do find that true one? They fall hard and fast, as is their lifestyle. I adored this book, love Samuel's development throughout and hope all members in this band find their own HEA's. Definite recommend series!

Holy snapping duck shit did I love this one! Lexxie Couper has definitely done it again, and with each book releases in this series, they just keep getting better. She has such an amazing ability to create intense sexual tension between her characters, but more importantly she does this without losing sight of the rest of the story making them an absolute pleasure to read.

The band is on the quest to find a new lead singer, and it brings Samuel and Jax to San Franciso. There Samuel meets the twin sister of their prospect, and her resistance to his charms draws Samuel like no other has before. Lily is less than happy when her brother offers up her services to play tour guide while he finishes up a stint in rehab. Sparks definitely fly between Samuel and Lily, and not all of them are in a good way.

Lily has watched the price of fame grip her family for far too long, and the worst has been the toll it has taken on her twin brother. Although she is sexually attracted to Samuel, she has no plans to tolerate him or his lifestyle in her life. Being forced to play tour guide during her week off isn't her idea of fun, but she also doesn't expect to discover the vulnerable real man Samuel is beneath his facade.

Samuel has always projected his narcissistic egomaniac rock star image to the world. Under it all though lurks a man who is sweet and lonely, which isn't what Lily was expecting at all. I loved how he kind of wore his heart on his sleeve in this one, and just seemed so genuine and real. The best part...I adored how he craved to just hear her laugh. :)

These two have tension and chemistry in spades, and it lead to some explosive heat between them in the bedroom. These guys were not what you'd think of as a perfect match, but yet they were once they both really saw one another for who they were inside. :) Sam's struggles to be "normal" were adorable, and Lily's adaptations to his lifestyle wer cute (especially the way she handles paparazzi). Overall, I just really loved this book and the characters were great. I can't think of a way that Lexxie can top it, but I just know she will because we still need a lead singer and Levi and Jax are left as well.

I have loved each and every book in the Heart of Fame series and this latest installment is no exception. The way she mixes the Australian accent in with the American culture I can actually picture the scenes in my head. I can't wait for Levi's story "hint...hint" I hope it's really really soon:)

It's Samuel's turn to find love

Samuel is the bassist for the band that is reuniting for a movie score. The problem is that they don't have a lead singer. Sam remembers hearing a new band in San Francisco some time ago and had been blown away by their singer. Arranging a meeting with Eugene and Levi (keyboards for the band) and find him a rehab center. Sitting next to Eugene is a drop dead beautiful woman who just happens to be Eugene is twin sister who hates everything remotely connect to rock bands. Lily can take her eyes off Sam but tells herself to get a grip. Eugene volunteers his sister to show Sam around the city while he finishes a few more days in rehab. Lily and Sam fall in love, Pepper arranges for a small gig at a local bar and the evening of the event, Eugene shows up high. Lily immediately blames the lifestyle, forgetting that it not the lifestyle but the person who chooses how to live his life. Lily and Sam love each other and are able to overcome the obstacles to hopefully get their HEA. Now it's on to the next in the series, which I love more with every book I read.

Look this is what it is. Over the top instalove with a hero who is 20 years older than the heroine but somehow less mature and does a lot of thinking with his dick. Is he the worst hero I’ve ever read? No, but he still generally sucks. I liked the heroine but her level of innocence (she’s 26 years old and is somehow scandalised by thong underwear) versus what she’s willing to do with the hero (second base in public) is not believable. The ending felt rushed and incomplete.
Yet.
I read it in two days, so still very readable.

I loved everything about this story. When an author can make me feel so deeply about her characters she has done her job and done it well. The real life struggle that many people face with substance abuse and the ramifications of this that the family has to come to terms with can be heart wrenching. Lexxie Couper has done an amazing job in telling this secondary story within such an great love story that it is one now one of my top 5 reads of this year. Bravo Lexxie, you rock!

Sometimes a series gets in your soul and you can’t get it out. Such is the case with Lexxie Couper’s Heart of Fame series. I have lost count of the times I have read this series and it’s not that old, but there is something about these characters that just engulfs me and makes me a part of their world. I had very mixed emotions about Nick Blackthorn’s band reforming and looking for a new lead singer as I am very partial to Nick (let’s just say if he was real and I was a teen I’d have his posters all over my room and on the ceiling so I could ogle him as I fall asleep at night). However, as the search goes on I’ve grown to love the men that were there to support Nick all those years and realize they have so much talent it’s a shame for them not to move on. Hold on to your panties ladies because lead guitarist Samuel Gibson is on a mission and there’s no doubt he’s going to leave a string of broken hearts in his wake!

Being described many times over the years as narcissistic and an egomaniac, Samuel Gibson doesn’t quite know how to deal with a woman who seems to want absolutely nothing to do with him. One that seems to despise his presence on earth, but there’s something about Lily Pearce that makes him want to be a better man, makes him want to make her laugh, and makes him want to enjoy more than just sex with her. Knowing he’s facing a grueling uphill battle, he tries his best and even when he fails he does so in spectacular form. While trying to deal with her brother Eugene’s recovery again, Lily finds herself dealing with rock god Samuel Gibson. But she’ll endure it so she can stay by her brother’s side as he tries out to be the new front man for Synergy. She hates the rock and roll lifestyle and the way it has chewed up her brother and spit him out many times over. Samuel Gibson encompasses everything she’s never wanted.

It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a couple as much as this one. They are so oddly matched but that just makes them more entertaining and interesting. Samuel is such a fish out of water trying to be “normal” or “just Sam” and it’s enlightening to watch because it is so important to him that Lily see that side of him. He’s never before cared what anyone thought of him so it’s very telling that he wants to prove himself to Lily. Lily has so many reservations and rightfully so given her upbringing and her family history. But when she begins to see the human side of Samuel, the side no one else really sees, it becomes so clear that despite her dislike for his lifestyle she can’t help but feel something towards the man.

I loved every minute of this book from the first chapter to the last even when they were at odds because those moments always led to some insight or big revelation. There are several scenes in the book that I went back and re-read because they were just first-rate. Lead Me On made me smile and left me on such a book high that the next several books paled in comparison. If you love rock and roll, love when opposites attract, and love watching a self centered man come undone by a woman then this is absolutely the book for you.

5 STARS !!!!

Lexxie Couper, just when I didn’t think you could create a better guy. WRONG! Then comes along Samuel “Hotness” Gibson. I loved him. I love these guys you write they’re all so “I know what I want” kind of guy’s. This book, yet again, did not disappoint at all. The Lead Guitarist can strum a tune and some hot love. Super Rock God status.

In this book we meet Samuel Gibson lead guitarist for Blackthorne. The band is starting over with no Nick since he retired. Samuel’s future rock princess is Lily Pearce. Lily’s brother Eugene (her twin) is trying out for the lead singer position in the band and this is how they meet. Lily is a huge challenge for Samuel. His attitude - "Game On!" Loved it!

Let me say this again, I loved this book!! I want a Samuel of my own. Samuel is the character that has made the biggest changes so far in the rock life style. He doesn’t know he is going to make these changes until Lily comes along. He comes out with a bang. I really loved his rock “get up” where ever he went. He was passionate, playful and loyal. Lily doubted everything! She was skeptical, confused and passionate all rolled into one. I wanted to slap her silly. She got on my last nerve so many times but Samuel stood by her and stood up for her brother. Eugene, I really liked him and pulled for him the entire time. The Eugene and Lily scene in rehab brought me to tears. I felt Eugene’s pain. Thanks for the mascara runs. This story was angsty and had the fairytale floating in there as well. As with all of Lexxie’s books the heat gets rolling right away. You don’t have to wait long for things to happen.

The story flowed well. The ending was good and I felt complete even though I know there is more that will show up in the rest of the series. The next installment “Blame It On The Bass” (Levi’s Story) is out soon. Looking forward to this!

I would recommend this book as I would all of Lexxie’s books. They are all hot reads! I really love this series and all of the men in it.

Quotes:

“Why are you trying so hard to make me like you, Samuel?” He studied her, his blue eyes shining with an emotion she couldn’t fathom. “Because the second I saw you,” he said, his voice husky, “the very second, I wanted you to.”

He’d come to San Francisco looking for a singer and found her as well, his forever

This series gets better and better with each member of the band formerly called Blackthorne pairing off and their quest to find a new front man for Synergy! Lead Me On captivated me from the very first page and refused to let me go until I had read the last page.

Lexxie Couper pens the best characters and Samuel Gibson and Lily Pearce are no exception. Samuel is the quintessential rock star who has finally found his heart with Lily Pearce, now if he can just convince her that just because he is a rock star, doesn't mean he can't love her. Lily is convinced that rock stars are not for her, after all look what being a rock musician has done to her brother. Her twin brother Gene has been in and out of rehab and just can't seem to beat his addictions and the rock star life is the reason. Or is it?

Ms. Couper's Lead Me On is a story that will have you laughing, crying and fanning yourself! She really knows how to balance a reader's emotions and take them through their paces in this story. The characters are well written and readers can easily identify with them. The plot is well thought out and the climax will leave you reeling and your heart breaking for the characters. Ms. Couper is really talented at this but then she swoops in and saves the day and you are completely satisfied with how everything turns out! The heat is absolutely perfect, Ms Couper writes spectacular love scenes that are enthralling to her readers.

I am now anxiously waiting for the next instalment in this series and am left wondering if Brutal will get his happily ever after too! Only time will tell... If you haven't read this series you need to, you will not be disappointed!

This series has had me hooked from the very beginning! I fell in love with Nick Blackthorne in Tropical Sin, when he helped Mac & Aiden find the love that was always there. Then he got his own story in Love's Rhythm & I fell harder! Now I have found Samuel Gibson, the egomaniac lead guitarist for megaband Blackthorne! Lead Me On is the 5th book in the Heart Of Fame series. I'm telling you, there is something magical about a rock star! Women throw themselves at Samuel & the other members of the band. He meets his match in a beautiful woman named Lily Pearce. She is not at all impressed with him or his reputation! Samuel has never cared what a woman thought of him before, but for some reason, he feels a connection with Lily. He wants to make her happy & does everything he can to prove to her that he is just a regular guy. Lily, on the other hand, doesn't want to be interested in Samuel. Her brain keeps telling her to stay away, but her body & heart can't seem to stay away! Lily worries about the effect he is having on her, but she sticks with him to protect he brother. When her brother relapses, Lily blames Samuel & the rock star world! Can he or she fix the cracks before they both fall in? This couple has been my favorite so far, I can't tell you how much fun its been to read! Samuel & Lily have a chemistry that is riveting & scorching! I can't wait to read Blame It On The Bass, I'm sure I will love it just as much! Lexxie Couper has quickly become one of my favorite authors! If she keeps writing books like this, she will stay there a long time!

I seldom give full five stars, but Lead Me On definitely deserved them. Not only for an amazing story, but because Ms. Couper managed to avoid the set template for this kind of romance, you know the boy meets girl, girl shuns boy, girl can't help her body reaction and bounces boy, boy tries to pretend that it's just sex and temporary, girl tries to hide her growing love for boy, one or both of them screw up, they breakup long winded he said/did she said/did and girl either (belch!) goes after and fights for her man..(which for me as a story line sucks a**) or boy grovels slightly and then sexes girl up and they live happy never after...

Lexxie Couper's story is like a breath of fresh air and wonderfully original. There was never a moment where I though, if this were real no woman with any self worth would accept/forgive that. Instead she made me sigh, and awww and fall completely in love with both characters. This is my first book by Lexxie Couper, and I know I read it out of sequence but it did not take away from the story at all, instead I have already filled my kindle with LC's other books.

As for the instalove (seriously? who thinks up words like that?), love at first sight (yes it is real and it does exist), which should not be confused with trust, because that comes with time, another thing I like about Ms. Couper, while they do fall in love really fast as these things do tend to go, the trust is going to take time and work and she shows that.

The Heart of Fame series by Lexxie Couper is one of my favorites to read and I'm always dying to read the next story after finishing the last one. OMG! Lead Me On was totally awesome and so worth the wait. I loved the brooding, arrogant, narcissistic guitarist Samuel Gibson because underneath all of that, he loved as hard as he played and it was damn sexy *fans self*

Of course, Samuel went and fell hard for the one person who hated his rock n roll world but that did not stop him. He was determined to have Lily Pearce see the man behind the rock star persona. He showed that in a memorable scene with a boy that just melted my heart and the love song he wrote *swoon* Sam and Lily had amazing chemistry and they scorched the pages. He sure knew how to play her body like his very own guitar and I nearly combusted. LOL! I could not get enough of these two and the rest of the other band members.

Lexxie knows how to create sexy characters with a heart, stories that draw readers into their world and unbelievably hot sex scenes that leaves us breathless and that is why she is one of my favorite authors. Now, I am anxiously waiting for Blame It On the Bass.

Lexxie Couper does it again and again. I know I have said this before but she is brilliant! And in LEAD ME ON she does it again, book 5 of her series. Each book is stand alone but if you reading them all will give you joy to know the FULL story of each band member.

This time we get to the hear to the REAL SAMUEL GIBSON and Lily Pearce is the one that reaps the benefits of the REAL SAM! Sam isn't just one of the best guitarists int he world from one of the best rock bands every, he is a real man looking to love and be loved. Lily is the one and in this story you can see how often she tries to resist it because after all the ROCK world has nearly destroyed her brother, Eugene.

Eugene is on his fourth stint of rehab and has been asked to try out as lead singer to replace Nick Blackthorne, Nick who has retired from rock and roll to be with his family. A crazy feat for Eugene and his demons....

Lily Pearce, normal person in the world and Samuel Gibson, rock star, can they make it.... YOU MUST READ to find out and believe me it won't disappoint you!

Brooding. Arrogant. Narcissistic. Rock legend Samuel Gibson has worn all these labels-and he's in no hurry to drop them. Until he meets Lily Pearce, whose brother would be the perfect new singer for the band. There's an allure beneath Lily's prickly demeanor that makes Samuel wonder if it's time to correct some of the misconceptions trailing behind him like a mile of bad microphone cord.

After watching her brother get chewed up and spit out, Lily has no love for the hedonistic world of rock 'n' roll, or anyone in it. Yet her own body betrays her with an instantly sizzling sexual attraction to the very symbol of everything she hates about that lifestyle-Samuel Gibson.

Things heat up and Lily's heart is on the line once she starts to catch glimpses of the man beneath the reputation. But can she reconcile her feeling for Samuel with everything she knows his world to be?

If you like rock romance this is a really good book. The characters were very well written and you felt a lot of the emotions that they felt.

I liked the Samuel/Lily characters and the ups and downs they went through. Another character I actually really liked was Brutal!! He laid in the background for quite a bit but when he had something to say to Lily it really meant a lot.

As for Lily's brother, I was really pulling for him and it was sad that he just couldn't keep it together for his dream.

I was able to get this copy through my library but sadly this is the only book they had in this series. I have had this series on my wishlist with Amazon for ages waiting for a "special" on any of them. I really can't wait to read more from Heart of Fame.
