A Werewolf, A Fae, and a Wizard walk into a bar...
All right, maybe the Fae didn't come in with me, but the wolf does own the bar. And I thought he was my friend, but now I'm dealing with attacks on the people I've sworn to protect and the evidence is too wolfish to deny.
As if that wasn't enough, I've got that Fae I mentioned beating down my door, begging me for help. Something's chasing him, and I'm the only game in town--and if I don't do anything, whatever it is will turn its sights on my people after its done with him.
I swore on Aidan's grave I would keep this town safe, and I won't let him down.
Two cases, one Wizard to solve them.
The cards are stacked against me. Let's see if I can pull this off. Scroll up and one click Wild Game today to find out if I can save London!
Wild Game (Codex Blair Book 4) by Izzy Shows is another great book in this series! I am blown away by the fresh fantasy she keeps coming up with. Everything is new, shocking, exciting, different, and fun. Suspense, lighthearted, kick ass female lead, danger mixed with tenderness, all rolled together to a point you don't know what you will get or when! Weres, imps, Fae, Wizards, Demons, and so much more. I love her friend Fred, an imp that lives with her. I would love to see a book just based around him. He is wise and very old although he is small and funny looking. He is also very powerful. She has so many cool characters in her books I could talk about them all day. Get her books, you won't be disappointed! It is some of the best fantasy out there or I wouldn't have agreed to read it for her. My review is voluntary, I give honest reviews so if it wasn't this good, I would say so. Although this is book four, it could be read as a stand alone.
I have read all of the Codex Blair books and this one doesn't disappoint. Blair is still trying to be London's protector but it isn't easy and to make matters worse, a fresh horror is rampaging through the city. She is still stubborn and independent and loath to ask her friends for help because she feels that it is her job alone to deal with everything that is thrown her way. This book is well written with strong characters who are growing with each book. The story is fast paced and exciting and we get a glimpse of another world this time as well as meeting two new characters who I hope will become regulars. This does not end in a cliff-hanger but the last chapter stopped me in my tracks. It sets things up nicely for the next instalment, which I hope will be soon. I received an Advance Reader's Copy but this voluntary review is my own opinion and is not influenced by the author.
Can I just say how awesome it is how fast the books in this series are released. I love getting my Blair fix on. I really felt for my girl in this one. Everything is starting to wear on her, and it feels like so much is happening at once. Some of Blair's old doubts start creeping back in, and my heart broke for where she was at by the end of this book. Speaking of that ending, I seriously can't wait to see what happens next. Things are looking pretty grim, but if anyone can handle it, it's Blair.
And on a personal note,
Thanks to the author for sending me an ARC of this book. My opinions are my own.
Absolutely brilliant, love love love Blair This is the fourth book I've read in this series, and I love them all. If you like urban fantasy these will not disappoint. The book was well written with a brilliant fast paced, full of action storey line, and great character's, including some great new ones. Blair's continues to manage things on her own without getting her friends involved and with a new challenge in her fight to keep london safe in the form of a wolf attacking its inhabitants. Things will get tough for blair. Can't wait for the next book. I received an ARC in return for a voluntary honest review.
I'm not sure what it was about this book, but I've had a really hard time getting through it. This one was tough for me to read, I think it was a little too fast paced that I had trouble keeping up with everything.
I received this book from Author in exchange for an honest review.
Izzy Shows does it again with"Wild Game." This time Blair is faced with so many challenges bombarding her at every turn that I was becoming dizzy just reading about them
First. there is the problem of rehabilitating Lilith, the age addicted succubus from book three. While Blair attempts to get Lilith to work through her issues all that comes about is hate and loathing. Then there is the matter of the kiss Blair shared with Malphas. She is doing everything she can to resist temptation but will it be enough?
Blair just can't catch a break especially when a badly wounded fae named Kailen shows up on her doorstep. He is being hunted by a strange creatures but does not want to lead the creature back to his domain where it could harm his people. To make matters worse, a werewolf is attacking people in London and there is only one were that Blair knows of and she considers him a fried. My, my, my!
There is a lot going on much to the dismay of Fred, the science fiction loving imp. Every time Blair leaves the house he fears she will not return. There is plenty of action and butt kicking going on in this read and the cliffhanger ending certainly comes out of left field. Book 5 promises to be very interesting.
I don't know how to feel about the ending. It was very anticlimactic. I mean they were about to fight and they just punched and kicked. I mean I wanted their to be fire and awesome explosion but at the end she was choked. I mean every book in the series has an awesome ending but this was an okay ending. It wasn't that good as I wanted it to be. But that's just my high opinion for this book. Also how she got a letter from the Order. I mean seriously after four books the Order is going to be involved. Seriously after all Blair has done in London they finally realize she's the one stopping the power hungry beings. Blair has stopped a ton of people and they realize at the worst possible moment. I don't know I feel that Wild Game was really an okay book unlike the others. Hopefully the next book is much better.

This fourth book in the Codex Blair series doesn't disappoint. Blair is still working on being London's Protector against all things that go bump in the night (or day), but this job just keeps getting harder!
The writing continues to be lively and fresh, and the plots are new. I especially like how Author Shows continues to build on Blair's personality while not forgetting the character's past. Some gut reactions take longer to change than others, and Shows does a great job in keeping Blair moving forward without unrealistic, sudden changes.
I miss some of the supporting characters from previous volumes, but considering the storyline in this book, it makes sense.
An enjoyable read - one best done after reading the previous books in the series.
holy smokes what a story. Could not stop reading till I was finished. Full of mystery, action, twists and turns. Love the character and story development and what an ending. I so can not wait to read the next book in this series to find out what is going to happen next.
FINALLY! I lost interest, not entirely sure why, but I'm glad I managed to finish it. It doesn't flow particularly smoothly, and the Sheach is not particularly the most likable heroine, but I am really enjoying her story and look forward to seeing what happens next.
The first half of the book was very similar to the books that came before it but the ending was a bit unexpected. And I have to say it left me very interested to see what happens next. Definitely worth a read.
Oh my gosh, Izzy can write a book! Sure, some of this was a little slower and as full of action. However, the last 75% totally made up for that and the end! Wow. Come on book 5.
I'm in love and I don't care who knows! I'm addicted to this series and I need more, fast, pronto! This is a fantastic UF series and has everything you could want for a series to stand on its own.
