Written in first person, our unnamed protagonist attends a wedding without her unfaithful husband and with disillusion at the fore, she looks forward to a bath and tumbler of whisky while everyone else gets on with the wedding party. After meeting an unkempt and distressed stranger in the ladies bathroom, a luscious red lipstick is tossed to her and our protagonist's carnal thirst is insatiable.

This is a very short erotic story, just eighteen pages, but it is expertly written with overtones of fantasy, and with lust, greed and desire filling the pages.

An erotic short story. A woman attends a wedding, alone. After years of marriage, she has been set aside by her husband. She meets a disheveled woman in the ladies room that tosses her a lipstick of the most sultry red color. After applying it to her own lips, she has an uncontrollable desire for carnal pleasure. I wonder if a curse was left upon that red lipstick for anyone that dared to press it against their lips. The story was intense. When it ends, you are left wanting to know more.

I gave this book a three star rating because it's not my usual book but it's new. I liked the concept of a woman feeling powerful when it comes to sex. I liked how a single red lipstick can transform a woman to something exciting, daring and desirable.

What a glorious short story.

What would you do if your inhibitions where taken over? Just a swipe was all it took. It was also refreshing that the lead character is a lady, of older years, passed over by her husband, who, took what she wanted when she wanted it

What a deliciously hot, erotic story, and what a change that the female character isn't another 23 year old, but a mature and sexually alluring woman. I received the story as a free book as a website promotion by the author, and highly recommend it as a short, hot read.

Strangely intriguing and certainly well-written, as a first person narrative present tense account of an older woman who falls under the spell of a red lipstick (based on the Grimm’s tale of the red shoes) and becomes compelled to seek sexual satisfaction from whatever man she finds… and she finds a few!
The story only accounts for 50% of the book, but equally interesting extracts follow.
Four stars, not because the writing isn’t worthy of more, but it is very short.

My third (short) read/listen from author Emmanuelle de Maupassant, although I own a number of her works it was an audiobook that enticed me to read this one. As much as I don't care for short stories, I liked this one. It takes something special to write a short story and in this, my third read from this author it all comes together, a different spin on The Red Shoes fairy tale that only Emmanuelle de Maupassant could do.

I normally sing the praises of this author, finding that her turn of phrase and story creation is above most other authors. I was disappointed here. This is a cute enough story, but it's based on existing tale, so it's not original and the writing is not as special as I've come to expect. The 3 stars that I've given this short story reflects my feelings and I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Potentially 4 or 5 stars; however, felt this story, while having a beginning, unfortunately ended halfway through the middle. It would seem that Emmanuelle had got a bit carried away with her writing that she took a break to service her own libido, then forgot all about not finishing the story.
There was great potential for the main character to come across a group of her husband's work colleagues and for the story to end with her gifting the lipstick to her husband's new love.

Fast paced, easy read. What happens when your husbands leaves you because you are not as young, beautiful and soft as you were when you first married? Be careful of what you wish for. I enjoyed reading this short story. I will be reading more books by this author. They have a special way with words.

Written with error free writing, Scarlet is an older woman and takes matters into her own hands after her husband has left her. I like that she does this. In this story she discards men and uses them for her own pleasure.
I must warn you that the ending is abrupt and does leave you wanting more.

This is a very quick erotic romance read. You should be careful what you wish for. When a 57 year old weeding guest is returning to her room for the night after the reception having gone alone as her husband no longer desires her she meets a strange woman in the bathroom that gives her a tube of red lipstick. Well with it comes what most woman would think of as a curse. AS she explores her new powers I do wonder when she will learn the cost of it. Sex was good and well written. Author made the characters come so aloe. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quick read. 5 of 5 lipsticks.
