From USA TODAY bestselling author, a psychic warfare alternative history set in a gritty version of Earth. Contains strong romantic elements - a book in the Bridge & Sword World. Apocalyptic. Psychic Romance.

"I was now, officially, a real terrorist..."

After losing her husband, Allie finds herself the new official face of seers as she fights to prevent the human and seer worlds from exploding into all-out war.

But her husband, Revik, isn't really gone. Instead he's transformed into someone she barely knows. Before she can adjust, the two of them are on different sides at the brink of racial war--a war he wants to see play out, a war he's ready for, and worse, one he's already fighting.

Compromise with him might be impossible, but it also might be the only way she can save him from himself and keep him from killing everyone she loves.

NOTE: An alternate version of this book was previously published as part of the "ALLIE'S WAR" series (this version has been revised/edited prior to re-release).

Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

*Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

SWORD is book 3 in the Bridge & Sword: Awakenings series - a series set in the Bridge & Sword World. It is also related to the Quentin Black World, and takes place in the wider history/world of the seers.

Next in the Bridge & Sword world: SHADOW (Bridge & Sword: Awakenings #4) - coming soon! Or if you'd like to read more about seers, check out BLACK IN WHITE (Quentin Black Mystery #1), which occurs in a version of Earth much closer to our own.

THE BRIDGE & SWORD WORLD encompasses a number of dark, gritty science fiction and apocalyptic story arcs with romantic (and sexy) elements, starring Alyson Taylor and her partner, dark and dangerous infiltrator, Dehgoies Revik. For fans of gritty, character-driven science fiction and fantasy worlds, filled with twists and turns and backstabbing betrayals, with heroes and villains who can be equally relatable (and sometimes the same people). The Bridge & Sword books span continents and historical periods as Allie and Revik try to save the human and seer races from destroying one another, and keep their friends and loved ones alive in the process.

It isn't unusual to find myself absorbed in a series. However, this series is one of those which has me completely and utterly immersed in it; has me thinking about the characters and the storylines even when I'm not reading it; has me dropping everything when the next in the series comes out.

In short - this series is exceptional. That's not to say that reading these books isn't exquisite torture. I really want nothing more than to read their HEA. However, the strength of the author's writing isn't just with the connection between Revik and Allie, but also the twists of the plot and the development of the other characters. And, whilst I might not like where the narrative leads, my attention is completely focused on the story until the very last page.
I confess, I was blindsided a bit by some of the events in this book. I can't say more for fear of spoilers.

Bring on book 4!

3.5 to 3.75

This one was much better than the two previous offerings. The story was more coherent and flowed more smoothly, the twists were mostly surprising, and not quite so much of the story was dependent on people not talking to each other.

The ending was kind of cliff-hangery though. Not out and out, but kind of a crappy place to leave the story. I would have rated down for it if I had to wait for the next book.

The emotional riptide under this story is strong. There were many times I found my feet pulled out from under me and I was left floundering, wondering what the heck had just happened. I loved seeing both Allie and Revik come more fully into their abilities, but it hurt my heart that they spent so much time using those abilities to hurt one another. I am now a dedicated fan of this series, and I can’t wait to start the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

So Shocking!!😱😭
4.5 Stars.🌟
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)

Book 3 has one shock after another. I had suspected who Revick & Nenji were to one another but not that they were this!!😳😳 I spent 1/2 the book loathing the Sword and the other 1/2 loathing the Bridge. Neither is right in what they're doing or how they're doing it, in my opinion, but the Dreng seem to the 'big bad' so if I had to choose a side it's the opposite to them!!😡

Another gripping read!!🌟

This series just keeps getting better and better.
I really loved reading this book.
I love the romance and the tension between Allie and Revik.
The tension between them makes the romance between them even better.
And then there is Balidor ...
In the previous book , i thought he and Cass would be getting something but i was so wrong.
I never would have thought that he and Allie would be getting something.
I was angry for Revik's concern.
I was giddy because a triangle makes for extra suspension.
I do wish we could have seen the romance between them.
I really wished the author did not skip that part.
We just read the aftermath of that.
We know they had sex but we did not read it.
I would have liked it if we could have read that part.
I would have liked it if we could read about the interaction between them.
But we do get that eventually in the end.
After the plane lands , he sees her. Hugs her and kisses her.
I did not know how to feel about that , because she just knocked Revik out cold along with his team.
It seemed as if she played Revik. Of course , we know that is not true.
But stil , it seemed that way.
I do wish she and Revik will end up together , what will happen probably. (It's their love story)
But i also wish she and Balidor will end up together , what most likely won't happen.
So you see , i am conflicted ..

I guess i will just have to wait and read further to know what will happen.
I just hope Balidor won't end up dead ..
Please , don't let him die !
I love this hero ..

Again 5 stars !!

Rogue Seers is definitely my favorite of the Bridge and Sword series so far. It begins soon after the prior book; Allie is with the Seers and the Adhipan after being freed by Revik's op in DC. She's trying to persuade the humans to stop the fighting and come to a truce with the Seers. To this end, she's organized a peacekeeping speech in Dehli to try to get the world to come to an agreement. Soon after her speech, in waltzes Revik, who convinces her to come with him so that they may talk. Revik of course has other motives and after he leaves Allie, the peacekeeping event is bombed. The humans don't really care which Seer faction is the culprit, all they know is that the event was bombed and human attendees died, so now both Seer groups are considered enemies to the humans, even though Allie and Revik are still at odds.

Without giving too much away, the main reason I liked the book was the time Allie and Revik worked together in the second half of the book. I really liked how Allie started using more of her gifts. She's going to be amazing once she comes into her full powers. Of course, Allie and Revik don’t get their happily ever after yet, and it's going to be interesting to see how their relationship fares after what happened in the last pages of this book. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Více, dokonale mi to sedlo.

Allie is all alone after the loss of her husband and then finds herself thrust into the role of the official face and voice of the seers. She then desperately tries to stop the two worlds that she straddles from an all consuming war. Then she discovers that Revik is not dead as she thought but instead is on the other side of the seer race and is already fighting the war against humans. There is no way she can compromise with him on this, but she has to do whatever it takes to save him from himself and save them all.

Wow - plenty of twists, turns, and agendas that are so hidden you can't pick them out until they happen. I loved the way the politics between the various groups came into things and how that affected all of the characters and their actions. As usual for this author, it was well written and I could feel and empathise with all of the thoughts and emotions involved in the story. The ending is a complete surprise and also pretty kick ass. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book in the series now.

I received Sword, book 3 of the Bridge and Sword series, as a free copy from the author, and enjoyed the read so much, I purchased a copy when it became available for sale.

There was a lot of tension, heartache, and emotional chaos in this book as Revik and Allie try to keep their marriage together in the face of war. It doesn't help they are on opposite factions with differing view of how to liberate the seers and handle the humans who have oppressed their race-- or races, if we want to count The Four as different types of seers. Fantastic surprises await the reader at the end. This is a continuation series and needs to be read in order, and although each book is complete in it's sub-plot, there is an unresolved overlying thread that exists through the series, giving a cliffhanger feel to the books. These are worth sticking with, as the author's imagination will toss lots of twists and turns in your path and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Another blissful saga in the lives of Allie and Revik!

Allie consents to Revik's offer to live with as his mate for 6 months while he suspends ops against humanity. She hopes she'll be able to get to know the "new" Revik, but there are things about him now that are hard to swallow. Still, no matter how much everyone keeps telling Allie that Revik has become a totally different person than he was before, her love for him is still painfully intense.

When Allie uses telekinesis to save Revik's team from an op she's approved of, everything changes, and Allie's starting to question which side they're on (good versus evil).

This is another satisfying, action-packed Allie/Revik adventure from JC Andrijeski that leaves you wanting more. I managed to wait 24 hours before buying book Four. And that was a stretch.

My final word is the same as with the earlier books in the series: Read. This. Book.

This series has more twists and turns than a twister at twilight. In typical Andrijeski fashion, I can say with relish, I really didn't see that coming!

Compared to the other books in the series, I will say that I enjoyed this one less. The reason for this would be the main character, the one I had the most empathy with, became a raging b***h. You expected this behavior with Revic, and it was part of his personality. He did have it coming, but the timing was brutal. I have to say I ended this book being really peeved at Allie.

All that being said, how impressive is that when an author can tie you up in knots and hang you out to dry, still grappling with your reader to download the next book!

Bloody amazing series!

Excellent story and very well written. Allie and Revik have mated but there is a lot going on. The question is who has influenced or brainwashed each of them? They both are fighting for the same thing for seers but the methods differ. Have the Dreng got Revik completely under control through financial backing or has the remainder of the seven got too much control over Allie. This story is about love recaptured, discretions and even betrayal. Will their love and marriage survive or not? There needs to be compromise on both sides. Read this very insightful and thoughtful story. I loved it!

The rewrites of this series definitely gives a more cohesive storyline. Even though I have read all of the books in this series, I can’t believe how much I have forgotten.

You see both Allie and Revik grow both emotionally and with their powers. This book proved to be a test of their relationship and both kept pushing the boundaries. We were introduced to some new characters and for being the “bad guys”, I really liked them all.

This book was emotionally draining and some parts just hurt my heart. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m definitely heading into the next book now because I need to see what is going to happen.

Trust is definitely big in this one and after several months of working on it, the results are looking good. And then in one brief moment of madness all of it is blown away and we're left wondering what happened. New players are introduced and here is where Allie's role is tested, but so is her very soul tested, she has to decide what she is willing to do to get what she deems most important. We see Allie grow a lot in this one and we see a side to Revik that is new to us.

Gifted a copy. Writing a voluntary review:

Sword takes off where Shield ended so it is necessary to read these books in order. Otherwise you will be completely lost. The books are detailed, complex and have more twists than a back country road. Don't just skim this book because you will miss out on so much of the story that you will not like it.

To me this story is a dark read so be prepared for things that are more adult content so is recommended for readers over 18.

Even better than the real thing!!!

For those fans of U2 out there you'll understand the quote. I've read these books in their previous lives and was blown away. This rewrite for want of a better word is nothing short of amazing. Much better flow in the story without damage to the intense relationship with Revik and Allie.
This is a love story spanning past lives and decades while the world around them is on fire. I'm officially addicted.

Book three brought the gut wrenching to a whole new level. Allie and Revik's marriage is continuously under emotional turmoil! This section of their life's journey will totally make you teeter on the edge of your seat! This brilliant author had me alternating between reaching for tissues or reaching for something to throw! A truly dark and mysterious series that I highly recommend!

Allie is less likable in this book than the previous ones and spends most of it pulling Revil back and forth like a yoyo. And I hated the ending, though I suppose it's a great setup for the next book.

I did notice that the phrase "jaw hardened" or a very minor variation was used a LOT. In fact when I checked, it came up a whopping 90 times. That's just lazy writing.

What a difficult time Allie has trying to reconcile her love for Revik, now a totally different person. I really had a moment where I didn't know which one really is the good side. As Allie and Revik (Sword) come to an agreement to try to be together, Allie will also have her doubts. Great saga, lots of action, suspense and sexy times.

Good, Again

I slipped there. I meant to give 5 stars. The fact that I have just purchased book number five means that this series is really good. I cannot think of any comparison book at all and I have read many thousands. It's funny to think of Earths inhabitants actually devolving and Humanity only winning by pure numbers.
