Rate this book
I am the thing that goes bump in the night. I am a liar, a protector...a killer... I am Noah Blake.

There is only one light in my darkness, one bright ray in the storm of my life. Lucia DeMarco. And I’ll do anything for her. Anything except show her who I really am...an assassin. Well, former assassin. I don’t really do that anymore...usually.

It would be easier if she didn’t call me names. Asshole, control freak … shameless. It would also be easier if she didn’t look at me with those trusting gray eyes. If I didn’t dream about the perfect curve of her — never mind all that. The point is she’s digging into my world, my secrets, and it’s going to get her killed.

But first, we have another more immediate concern. Lucia is going on a date—With someone else...

And I’m not allowed to kill this one.

Noah’s Cliffhanger Warning:
Ladies, I know you want to see the full package. But I have to tease you first. So I’m just going to open a few buttons so you can take a peek. And while you’re at it, hold onto your panties because I like it dirty. (The Shameless series unfolds over the course of three books)

descriptionThis cover is OK. A little generic in my opinion but I can picture the model as Noah. It's got good composition and unique title work as well.description

descriptionThis review is going to be a little short because I am moving onto book two. I enjoyed this one. The author has an easy writing style that flowed well and kept me turning the pages. The plot was interesting and quite amusing at times. Both characters were very likable although the whole push/pull thing Noah had going on frustrated me. There were also an excellent array of secondary characters that have peeked my interest.

All in all a very enjoyable read. On to book two.description

This was a great collaborative effort by authors, Minx Malone and Nana Malone! What a thrilling and memorable start! What I really most enjoyed in "Shameless"was the funny banter between the characters --- primary and secondary ones.

Lucia and Noah had a strong connection but both were fighting it so it's best to call it what it was ... 'a slow burn' because of their relationship (quasi sister/brother), friendship, and this love/ lust thingy going on. H/h were both flawed characters but Noah more so because of his past and true profession that Lucia wasn't aware of due to the secrets he held "close to his vest". Noah sees himself as Lucia's protector after he promised his friend and her brother to watch over them (her and grandmother) before he was killed! Okay I won't give away anymore spoilers! But the ending to this book will have you hollering, "

OHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Read it, you'll love it but note... it is a trilogy!

NOOOO! How could it end there??? Just as it was getting juicy!!

But, I'm doing this the wrong way round. Let me start again.

This was, for me at least, a one sitting devouring of this book. I was drawn into the story by the plot, but the thing that kept me hooked throughout was the characters. This tale was a well balanced mix of humour, suspense, romance and action. Each element completely necessary to make the book work overall.

And I'm not just talking about the main characters either - the supporting cast aren't muted at all and this adds an extra layer of interaction which simply enhanced the narrative beautifully.

I'm so looking forward to Shameful.

Under the heading of impossible reviews to write, there is this one.

Spoilers are all over the place, and I am not even sure how to avoid them.

Noah and Lucia were interesting, which is the most important part of any romance between a couple of people you meet on the pages of a book.

Noah is the head of a security firm, with the past life as an assassin. And, this is not something Lucia knows, or more importantly it is not something that she understands fully, as she is sheltered and a little naive when you first meet her.

In some ways, it was hard for me to totally relate to them as a couple, as I felt for Noah and the things he has been through, but it was harder to relate to Lucia, as she is so young and a little naive. But, you like her. She has a good heart, and that makes you willing to get to know her.

I enjoyed this book overall. It was short, as it is intended to be a serial and it was leading to a cliffhanger that you sort of see coming. Maybe not the entirety of it, but you definitely know something along the lines of what happens is likely heading for them.

I recommend the title.

Too much repetition, clichés and controlling man dialoge. It's funny because I used to read and enjoy many books with similar undertones but the older I get the less I can stand the man being this alpha controlling freak. I tried to like Noah but we don't actually know anything about him. At the very beginning Noah breaks into “her” apartment (I say “her” because he’s actually paying the majority of the rent without her knowing) while she is on a date. His reasoning behind it is that she’s misbehaving, not following his rules of dating so he has her followed, even listens through her phone and then breaks into her apartment and arrogantly waits on her bed because he is that cocky and knows the date won’t go that far. Can we just take a moment? We just keep hearing how troubled he is and that he has a dark past and that somehow excuses his behavior because Lucia knows that it's bad but that's it. At some point in the book she is pondering about why is he like this, maybe because of guilt ? but it doesn’t go further than that. Authors try to explain (badly) that he is doing that because of his previous dangerous job but we don’t actually get any useful information and it does not create good angst but just annoying one dimensional characters. Lucia has no spine whatsoever. She forgives him when she gets distracted by how sexy he is and her way of dealing with his “overprotectiness that’s not a word) is by not talking to him. There is a lot more but I think you get the jist of it. It's safe to say I didn't enjoy this and I won't be picking up the next one.

ReRead 2019-Once I realized Matthias’ story was out I figured I’d start over because it’s been a while since I read the series! There are so many little things I’d forgotten, but it’s just as good the second time around!

*********
I loved Noah's broodiness and Lucia's sassy innocence. Their chemistry was well balanced, with some push/pull happening, but the build up was worth it..plenty of sizzle and spark!

I really got a kick out of the supporting characters; the humor and jokes, sometimes at Noah's expense, were just that funny! I found Noah's crew to be quite a colorful group, but Matthias was my favorite! He rocks his nerdy computer role, but his pat down at the FBI office revealed a surprise-it's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for! Lucia's best friend JJ is a riot-her shenanigans to payback Noah had me cracking up!

My lands, talk about an addictive read! I read the story in one sitting! I was flipping pages in anticipation of what would happen next! The prequel to the series gave me a couple of answers and I hope to see more questions answered as the series continues. The pacing was good, the suspense is light, and the romance was smokin' hot! The book ends with a cliffhanger and while I wasn't surprised by it, I can't believe the Malones ended it on that note! Man, they did their job well and good, because I'm hooked and can't wait to see what in the world happens next!!

This book…
Gave me everything I wanted in both authors. The angst <- (I don’t like this word but I have to use it.) The sexy, the raw talent of both writers, and the shameless manner of all characters. I want more. Not now, like right now.

Noah is intense right down to his core. If there was ever a man that could deal with Lucia, it is him. Their chemistry draws from each other, just light a moth to a flame. I love the intensity of the story, it’s the right amount of oomph <- (google it, it is a word), mixed with sass. And them lucky stilettos always shows up, right along with the high level security signatures I’ve grown to FLOVE in these two writers.

“You’re the only one who has ever loved me,” <-(One of my favorite lines in this book.) Nope, I’m not telling who it came from, “you must find out for yourself.” (In my Mr. Miyagi’s voice)
All, I can say is YAAAAASSSSS! YAAAAAAASSSSS! HONTY!

After this series, I would freaking love to read Matthias’s story, right along with the others… am I thinking too far ahead? Sorry, I’m just so effin excited that M-Squared has joined forces. All I can say is C’mon with it.

I don’t do spoilers. But I will say this, there are secrets, there is sex, there is humor. Ha! That’s my no-spoiler alert disclaimer. You’ll always want to keep reading from these two, they’ll give you the feels that will rock your core.

I think the author must have an advanced degree in chemistry, because the tension and attraction between Noah and Lucia is beyond hot! I think the sheets on the bed went up in flames just from their kissing in the living room! Seriously hot scenes, not just the intimate scenes themselves, but the underlying current of electricity is pulsating with every interaction between the two. This author has a real gift for creating that intense attraction and keeping it simmering throughout the entire book. And the humor! This is a somewhat dark, buried secrets and lives that need redemption kind of story, certainly not a romantic comedy, but there are more than a few times I gasped, laughed, or even snorted out loud while reading. We’re told up front that this is the first of a three-part story so the ending was no surprise, but I’m going to have a hard time waiting for the next one! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Shameless is an edge of your seat kind of book. Lucia lost her adored big brother Rafe to violence and blocked out the trauma of his murder. Noah was Rafe's best friend and protege. He lost Rafe, but vowed to protect Lucia. He is determined to keep her safe no matter what. He takes overprotective to a whole new level. Rafe and Lucia have spent years telling themselves that they have a brother-sister relationship; that he is a stand-in for Rafe. The truth is that both stopped thinking of the other innocently long ago. Their attraction is powerful; everyone sees it, but they fight it. Noah feels that he isn't good enough for her and Lucia realizes that he's a bad boy. She wants the HEA and knows it's unlikely with a man like Noah. Still they are ruined for any other.

The mystery of Rafe's death colors this whole book. There is still a danger surrounding his death and Lucia has grabbed the attention of the wrong people. The suspense builds with every page. Sexual tension adds to the edginess. There is just the right amount of humor added in to ease the anxiety fro time to time. There are some truly hysterical moments. The ending of Lucia's date night and the beginning of her revenge scene both startled me into laughter.

This is a well-written, fast paced book. The main characters Lucia and Noah are great. I especially loved Noah even with his past and his lethal ways. I enjoyed the rest of his security team as well. JJ made for a worthy best friend and Nonna is an interesting lady.

The book ends abruptly with a cliffhanger. The book is the first of a trilogy and I am hopeful that there won't be a long wait until the second book. From the very beginning there is a fear of uncovering too much about Rafe's death. The final scene seems to prove that, but I won't accept it. No, no, no! I know there has to be more; I need book 2 asap.

Shameless is book one in a trilogy, and for the first book in a new trilogy, it is full of energy, zest, heat and humor.
Lucia lost her brother six years ago and ever since, she has been looking for answers. When she finds a possible lead, she thinks she may finally have closure. Well, she would be closer to closure if her brother’s best friend and her own personal annoyance, Noah Blake, keeps getting in her personal business.
Noah promised Lucia’s brother that he would always watch over her and that’s what he is doing. But she’s all grown up now, and it’s getting harder for Noah to see her as anything but a woman, and a sexy woman at that. That’s before he finds out she’s been shifting through old dirt and putting her life—and his—at risk.
This story is full of suspense and romance and mystery. I loved all that this story has going for it. The tension between Noah and Lucy is a simmering one- and when it explodes, oh yes, it is so fantastic. I loved the chemistry and how intense it got between them. Watching them try to not address the elephant in the room is at times funny because they are so obvious about it. I was in tears laughing at how they tried everything to not talk about it –they are so hard headed yet they are so right for each other.
I loved the secondary cast of characters who added flavor and color to the main characters and gave additional boost to this story. I do want to add this story ends on a cliffhanger so book 2 will pick up where book 1 ends. I cannot wait to read bk2 find out what happens.

Noah spends most of his life protecting Lucia, pretty much from herself and her would be dates, but he protects her none the less. He doesn't feel that she needs to know all that he does for her, and treats her like a little sister, at least that's what he tells himself. Taking on the protector roll since Lucia's brother died just seemed like the right thing, but as much as he tries to keep his feelings to himself, the harder it gets.

Lucia is in love with Noah, but he never shows that he thinks of her as anything other than an obligation, but when one moment leads to their first kiss, can Noah stop things from happening once that door is open? What happens when Lucia finds out just how much Noah is keeping from her? Will she be able to forgive him?

So this was the beginning of Noah and Lucia's story, we get a bit of drama and violence and a sexy time or two. It's an ok story, as this is a trilogy of course it ends in a cliffy. I give this 3.5 stars.

"Keeping secrets isn't always for the sake of others. In fact, is a dangerous decision to make. Shameless is witty, sexy, super hot, and totally... dangerous. Enjoy!!!"

Smart ass, independent woman: check!
Tall, brutally hot and infuriating control freek of a man: check!
Story to intrigue your attention and fulfill your imagination: hell check!!!
Do I have to continue reviewing? After all, we are talking about Nana Malone over here. The woman knows women better than they think for themselves.

Lucia Demarko is a twenty-one years old woman who lives in New York city and works as a fashion assistant of a well known fashion designer. After her brother died, Lucia had few people around her; her Nonna Rosa, her best friend JJ and Noah Blake, a man who became her shadow after her brother's death. Lucia wasn't convinced with the way her brother died, so six years now she still tried to find the real reasons of his death. The results of her research lead her in front of a furious Noah and an unknown but dangerous enemy. However, what she found didn't leave her room to back off.

Noah Blake isn't the man everyone think he is. He has a dark past, a dark side. Long before his death, Noah was saved by Lucia's brother, Rafe. Rafe believed on him and welcomed Noah into his family. But his past always lurked into the shadows. Until he lost his best friend and his anchor for a better life! Now, he owns Blake Security. A multi-tasked and efficient business which is growing really fast. However, his only torment was and still is Lucia. After he promised to Rafe to keep Lucia and Nonna safe, Noah made his mission not to fail them and Rafe. Yet, he couldn't keep Lucia from the inevitable, showing her his true feelings and destroy her only chance for happiness.

Shameless is a huge roller coaster to ride on. Seeing tall these hided secrets and the unspoken feelings between the two heroes in the beginning of the story, you could think that the two of them are never going to have something close to a relationship. The tension and the stubbornness they both have could only lead them to have more fights than something more intimate. How wrong was I!! Who could know that these fights would lead to steamy hot sex scenes between them? Truth to be told, I was expecting something hot but not THAT hot! They burned the pages with their passion...and I totally liked it!

I found the storyline interesting and really intrigue, even if it's going to be a part two soon. Through out the story, there were always something more to be revealed from the secrets. Not the right amount to sort out the truth, but only to understand what it's hided behind it. This is the first reason why I liked this story. Shameless intrigued my imagination. An other reason I liked it is that, every hero in this story is a strong character and has unique temperament. I would love to see more of Matthias in the next book Nana! The third reason is that, I found the story very well written on any aspects. It is a page-turning story, which is a basic need for a reader to keep reading a book, it has the most hilarious yet embarrassing scene ever (you would never imagine), the most cocky, filthy-mouthed lines ever and, of course, the fluent writing style which helped the story to be unfold without missing its main theme; to find Lucia the truth about her brother's death.

I love the cover of Shameless so much!!! Noah looks as Nana described him into the story. Tall, dark and brutally hot! Lucia didn't had a chance at all! I loved Lucia's character too. She is much younger than me but she knew what she wanted for her life and how to take it. I couldn't relate myself with her but I could definitely understand her and the decisions she made. However, after finishing the first book, I wonder what Lucia might do after the unwelcome turn the story took. Well, I hope I intrigued your imagination and made you grab the book yourselves and find out what's happening, because I won't tell you myself.

Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

Shame Shameless
by Nana Malone, M. Malone
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Phenomenal read that I absolutely adored reading. OMG! I'm absolutely adored reading this! I have fallen in love with Nana Malone writing, if you have ever read any of her books you know that her books are phenomenal, they pull at your heart and pull you right in her stories. Each book just gets better and better then one before it. Shameless is a Trilogy and this is the first book it's absolutely amazing, it's well written and I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy. This story features Lucia and Noah. Lucia is a young woman who brother Rafe is shot down in front of her. Because of the violence that she witness at the time of his death. Lucia has blocked the memory so that she can't remember the details of his shooting, but she have nightmares. Noah Blake was Lucia's older brother Rafe best friend and Rafe was his mentor, Noah is also Lucia's self proclaimed protector in all things. Noah constantly interferes with Lucia's life using the excuse that he is keeping her safe. In reality, Noah is in love with Lucia, but he constantly denies his feeling to himself, trying to convince himself he only see her as a little sister, not as a beautiful young woman she is. Now Lucia has been in love with Noah since she was in her teens and She is always trying to tell herself to move on away from him. To go out date and have a sexual relationship, but she thinks no one wants to go on a date but once. Unknowing that Noah is always scaring off any of her potential boyfriends every time. Even through this story ends with a cliffhanger with Lucia having the memory of Noah being there the night Rafe died.
I still really enjoyed Shameless a lot it's a quick and emotional read with characters that are beautiful, convincing, intense and captivating. It's a emotional roller coaster ride. I couldn't put it down the entire time. There is lots of drama and action that had me turning the pages as fast I could. I have read several books written by Nana Malone and I enjoyed them all and this book is no different. If you haven't picked up this jewel of a book yet you need to. I can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy. Grab this book and buckle up! The ride is more than worth it!!!"

Wow!! M. Malone and Nana Malone knocked me off my feet with this one. These two are a writing powerhouse duo!! What a story these two lovely ladies have crafted with Shameless. The saddest part is that when the book finished I didn't have book 2 already in my possession. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. Noah and Lucia are a force to be reckoned with. These two cracked me up. You want to talk about fighting one's attraction to the other, and not doing a very good job at it...well, meet Noah and Lucia. Noah Blake is the owner of Blake Security, and he has taken it upon himself to be the protector, or shall we say the block any all things male that comes Lucia's way, after Rafe, Lucia's big brother and Noah's friend and savior passed away. Of course, Noah's over protectiveness drives Lucia insane. I absolutely loved Noah to piece. He is pure sexy, alpha, dominant male. The man is raw sex appeal...and did I meant he is gorgeous??!! Lucia DeMarco, who is determined to get to the bottom of what happened to Rafe (for some of the backstory on Rafe and what happened, you should read Shame, the prequel to Shameless, I promise it is worth it!!), has placed herself in danger without even realizing it, which gives Noah a steady dose of angina!! Yet, above all, Lucia really wishes Noah would start to see her as more than just Rafe's little sister, and Lucia is determined for that to happen. The showdown is epic.

Shameless is a well written, charming, sexy, and laugh out loud story about two people trying to hide their attraction towards each other, but with just the right amount of suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. Oh, and let me just say that Noah isn't the only sexy male in this book. Oh no...Noah employs a whole host of them at Blake Security. And wait unit you meet Lucia's grandmother and best friend...let the good times roll. The characters in this story are very well developed and bring an extra dose of awesomeness to this story that would be remiss without them. Shameless is a great first installment in this wonderful series. Extremely well done, M. Malone and Nana Malone. I cannot wait to see what you two ladies have in store for me in Shameful.

This is the first book of the series and oh my it BLEW me away! It wasn't what I expected for a Dark Romance...it was better and ADDICTIVE! Stellar writing will have you hooked from Chapter 1 and the cliffhanger at the end will for sure have you waiting breathlessly for the Second book in the series! Great character development and amazing writing will completely enrapture you! The inner dialogues are priceless and well descriptive scenes will make you feel as if you are right there along with them.

Can I just say one of my all time favorite scenes occurs with a Purple toy...it was a riot and had me laughing out loud!! Seriously, you have to read this book if you like raw, real and gritty romances with a twist! It's got it all..WIT, CHARM, SUSPENSE, DANGER and a whole lot of SEXY.

Holy freakin moley. I realize this is a cliffhanger but dang is it the best kind. I loved the big reveal at the end of this book. I thought we would have to wait until book 3 to know the big secret.

I loved the scene with the sex toy. I have never laughed so hard but I could totally see this happening in real life.

So where is book 2 going to take us? Noah revealed a number of secrets at the end. Will we find out what's really going on with Nonna ? Will we find out what Matthias' issue is and if it's related to what happened that day six years ago? How much does Jonas know? Who put the hit out on Lucia and what is the real reason why? How much of the truth does Nonna know? Why was it necessary to keep Lucia in the dark?

My goodness. I was sucked in and now I feel like an addict waiting for their next fix.

I was absolutely captivated by M.Malone and Nana Malone’s book. I could not put this book down! Noah is a complex character. He’s dark but protective and loving toward Lucia. He thinks he is completely irredeemable for his past sins. Lucia is stronger and smarter than Noah gives her credit. She is completely in love with Noah. And then she remembers that terrible day! This story will keep your interest. There is a story, sexy scenes, romance, and some laughs! The characters are believable. There is a cliffhanger. So this is a to be continued book. I personally can’t wait for book 2. You won’t be disappointed in your purchase of this book. I wasn’t!

Intensity overload (not but just right) . . . deep, dark, suspenseful, thoughtful, and complex. . .

The Malone’s have taking this one and set a high standard of excellence. Lucia haves to know who killed her brother and why. She has begun to dig into things she has no place being in. She has a partial guardian that does what he can to keep her safe. But there is only so much that Noah can do before things get too sticky for even him. I past my very much come back and take more from him than he would be willing to part with. I just could not put this read down. It was just that good. It had me turning page after page. I am highly anticipating the next chapter in this series.

OMG!!! What a way to end this story. Hurry up book 2 I need to know what happens next. Noah has always felt protective over Lucia especially after her brother was shot and killed. Things become real when Lucia tries to find out what happen to her brother. But, Noah knows that the more she digs will get her killed too. Watching these two realize that they're in love with each other was too much. This is a hot, sexy, suspenseful, mystery read that brought a smile to my face and all out laughter. I laugh so hard until I was crying I just couldn't stop. This is a awesome collaboration. Must read!!!

LOVED this book!! But I can't believe it ended with a cliffy. Need book two ... NOW! There's lots of mystery and intrigue with a great mix of humor, romance, and steam. Great flow to the story kept me turning the pages now I need to know the rest! Loved Noah Blake. He's confident, flawed, and sexy. Lucia is naive but haunted after the death of her brother. Desperately looking for answers for his death, she needs to know who and why. She may find she doesn't really want to know when the truth comes out!

You want to grab this one and get started on this thrilling story. I highly recommend it.

That ending! 😩 What torture!! Sooo this book isn't technically out yet and I'm already desperate for the next one. Loved the characters and it was so well written. The story just flowed by and before I knew it, I was on the last page and gasping out loud at that ending. Noah has some serious explaining to do, but even so... he's still so yummy. I can't wait to see what happens next! Definitely recommend this book. It'd be real shameful not to buy it ;) I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Lucia wants a normal life, Noah wants to protect her as promised to her brother but neither of them will have a say in it after Lucia tries to find out what actually happened to her brother. Some great twists, lol and oh crap moments that keep you turning the page. Some really good character development and I hope we get to see more of Noah's team, as well as continue to earn more about Noah and Lucia. I was ready for book 2 as soon as I finished so cant wait for it to come out!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review and was not compensated in any way.

OMG this book is INTENSE!!! So much going on that it kept me wanting to just read it all in one sitting. However, I'm not sorry that I took my time to enjoy this story, because jus simply amazing!!! The ending I kind of figured out early on, but was still shocked when it happened. Loved the cliffhanger, though, and really want to read the rest of the series. Wish I would have waited until the entire series is out, but I'll try to be patient!!!

Please note that I did receive a free copy of this book.

Shameless was funny, hot and suspenseful. Not what I was expecting, but definitely worth the read. Noah Blake took protecting Lucia DeMarco one step to far.

I loved their interactions. From laugh out loud moments (dildos anyone?), to biting back and forth to each other to not being able to keep their hand off each other.

Add in the mystery and suspense of what happened to her brother and who does not want her asking questions? Is the danger closer than she believes?

A good read. Happy reading.

I loved this story! It was funny, hot and left me wanting more. The characters demanded attention leaving you emerged in their story.

Noah owes Raf his life and plans to keep his family safe as payment. Easy right... except feelings and attraction always get in the way. Can Noah fulfill his promise or will his undeniable attraction to Lucia get them both killed?

Witnessing their hot connection grow, while knowing of the danger lurking makes this read a must!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced story with great characters, romance and lots of intrigue. Lucia finally gets her love to admit he loves her, but then she has a flashback that changes everything. I don't like a cliffhanger, since now I have to wait to find out what happens next. I can't wait. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and highly recommend it to lovers of this genre.
