Lilly is a sunwalker—a vampire born from human parents, able to walk in the daylight. She lives life as human, hiding her true identity from all those around her. One evening, she comes to the rescue of her best friend, Lex, as a vampire is about to make a meal out of her. Lilly is drawn to him, despite her desire to loathe him for almost murdering Lex, as he is the first of her kind she has ever met. As the vampire, Tread, begins to open Lilly's eyes to a world she has never known, Lilly must decide where she belongs. After she is betrayed by the person she loves most, Lilly is forced to submerge herself entirely in the vampire world, only to discover that Tread has a secret so shocking it could destroy them all.

Imaginative book about a natural-born vampire. All it took was for both parents to have a gene mutation in common, and daughter Lilly was born a a vampire. Her uncle wanted her destroyed, but her mother fiercely protects and saves her daughter's life. Lilly is a charming girl, popular and full of fun. When her best- friend is nearly killed by another vampire, Lilly saves her friend and charms Tread, another Sunwalker. An unexpected betrayal sends her deep into the vampire's world where the book takes a shocking twist. Entertaining and fun, ST Sanchez has written an enjoyable story for vampire lovers.
S.T. Sanchez creates an interesting and complex vampire world in Sunwalker. Lilly is a Sunwalker, a vampire born from human parents (like a Muggle). But when she saves her friend from a vampire named Tread, she’s introduced to a world she never knew. Like many vampire books, Sunwalker features a romance, but Sanchez’s writing and ability to focus on a greater plot sets this one apart. This one’s perfect for any gritty vampire book or romance lovers out there!
Great story, moves along and isn't predictable. It pulled me right in, and I wanted to keep reading all night. The vampire human world created was intriguing. The love story was sweet. There were some gory battle scenes as expected. The book had closure even as it set up the sequel.
Sunwalkers by S.T. Sanchez unveils a captivating narrative, weaving a tale nestled within the rich tapestry of a post-apocalyptic world where the enigmatic unknown looms large. The protagonist, Lilly, is not your typical teenager navigating through the ruins of a shattered world. Concealed beneath her ostensibly mundane existence lies a secret that shapes her very essence: she is a vampire, born of human parents, a secret intricately kept by her determined mother, who has ventured to significant lengths to nurture and teach her human ways.
As Lilly ambles through her adolescence parallel to her peers, an encounter with another Sunwalker – a handsome vampire - steers her life onto an unforeseen path. Laden, with questions yet shrouded with fear derived from the knowledge that vampires pose a formidable threat, Lilly remains hesitant to let him into her world. His potent curiosity about her, coupled with a dangerous allure, propels him to initiate a dialogue. Readers are left on the precipice of intrigue – will Lilly open her world to him despite the lurking fears for the safety of her loved ones?
The concept of Sunwalkers is impeccably imaginative and refreshingly novel. The origination of vampires in this desolate world distinguishes itself starkly from familiar narratives and presents a fresh idea – the birth of a vampire from human parents, a plot twist that notably enhances the storyline. This innovative concept has kindled my curiosity regarding subsequent books and the unfolding of possible new themes.
Lilly emerges as a compelling character, encapsulating a blend of natural curiosity and compassion throughout the narrative. Lex, her best friend, brings a vibrant and supportive dynamic to the story, characterized by her confidence, outspokenness, and fierce protectiveness of Lilly. Tread, meanwhile, contributes a fascinating layer to the story with his swift and positive character development, offering a refreshing pace contrasted against other narratives. Elaine’s character navigates through unexpected terrains of motherhood, presenting astonishing actions towards Lilly that left me stunned, albeit with a tinge of disconcert.
The storyline seamlessly weaves together its components, interlacing shocking moments with an enthralling narrative pull that beckons the reader into its depths from the opening chapter. Sunwalkers is a fervent recommendation for readers intrigued by a narrative that explores the genesis of vampires from humans, born through a fascinating genetic mutation, offering a truly unique conceptual perspective.
Sunwalker is an appealing twist on the teen vampire romance genre. In a dystopian future where vampires have spread across North America and humans seek safety in walled cities, main character Lilly is herself a vampire, an extremely rare “Sunwalker” born of (and raised by) humans. She knows she's different, but has spent her seventeen years passing as human because anything else would get her—and her family—killed. Then she meets Tread, another Sunwalker, and gets a peek at the vampire world she has never known. She longs to claim her full identity, without killing people in order to eat. Could humans and vampires live in peace? It takes a few rescues, a perilous road-trip, an undercover mission, and a lot of trust-building to find out.
Although Lilly has enhanced senses and abilities, she comes across as a believable teen: interested in new (or in this case rediscovered) music and movies, hanging out with her BFF, maybe having a boyfriend. She loves her mom but they test each other's patience. She has the naive idealism of youth, which turns out to be exactly what's needed to start making change. I loved how every close relationship was complicated by something: chafing against restrictions, harmful past actions, difficulty accepting a “coming out,” etc. These things are not resolved easily, and some linger even by the end of the book. I especially appreciated the emphasis on Lilly claiming and developing her own identity and strengths, with the romance as a sweet (and complicated) subplot.
I didn't expect the subtle undercurrent of facts about safe and comfortable blood donation, although a vampire story is the perfect place for that. I hope readers who are eligible are inspired to donate, whether they've given gallons (I'm up to six) or for the first time. Vampires don't actually need your blood, but humans do.
When I read the summary for Sunwalker I knew right away that I had to read it. I didn’t know quite what to expect after reading the summary for Sunwalker but I have to admit that what I found between the pages was way better than I ever dreamed it would be. I loved the twists on the vampires.
Lilly was born a vampire to two humans carrying a gene mutation that could result in the baby being born a vampire. Unlike vampires that were created Lilly can walk in the daylight. If Lilly’s secret is ever found out then it would be very dangerous for Lilly, her mother, and her uncle. Lilly hides her secret from the world by pretending that she is human.
One day or night Lilly’s best friend Lex is attacked by a vampire. Lilly rushes in and saves her friend from the vampire. Lilly is then introduced to a whole new world. A world filled with vampires.
Unlike Lilly, these vampires cannot walk in the daylight but her new friend Tread the vampire who attacked Lex is like Lilly, a sunwalker. Sunwalkers are very rare in both the vampire and the human world.
After meeting Tread and being introduced to the vampire world Lilly learns that Tread has a secret one that could blow their newfound friendship out of the water.
After reading the first few paragraphs of Sunwalker I was hooked. I was drawn into its world and once there I stayed until the last page came into view. I felt like I had made the journey with Lilly when she stepped into the vampire's liar as I walked around in Lilly’s world.
Sunwalker is the best book with vampires that I have read in a long, long time. I dearly love the world that S. T. Sanchez has created for us in Sunwalker. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the Sunwalker Trilogy.
I loved reading Sunwalker so much that I highly recommend it to anyone who loves vampire stories. Grab your copy of Sunwalker today!
The idea of vampires finally coming out of hiding was intriguing. However, they rampage and destroy most of the West Coast, causing humans to "Nuke" it, although the vampires are immune to the radiation. Lilly is a NV, natural vampire, meaning she is a very rare vampire by birth. This makes her stronger and able to walk in the Sun. She is raised as a human, hiding her vampire traits. Unbeknownst to her and her human mother, her father is part of VAS (Vampire Assassination Squad). When he murders Tread's sister, Tread kidnaps him and tortures him for 17 years. By coincidence, Tread is also the first vampire Lilly ever meets, and they fall in love, just coincidence! This is a slow and tedious journey and I had trouble getting through it. I'm very surprised by the high reviews, but I'm not YA, just a lover of the vampire genre. This book does not serve it well.
A great read, the author has done an amazing job building this world, the storyline, and characters. Lilly, a vampire who can come out in the sun, has been living a lie and fitting in with the very people who would see her dead. All is going well until Tread, a vampire, comes into her life and then everything changes. As secrets become known, she finds she has nowhere to go and now everyone she loves is in danger with only one option. To leave all they know and love behind and find that mythical place where Vampires and Humans coexist. Can such a place really exist? There is only one way to find out, get this book you won’t regret it. I requested a free review copy of this book through StoryOrigin and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sunwalker (Sunwalker Trilogy Book 1), my fifth read from author S. T. Sanchez. A well-written YA fantasy read, I'm not much on vampire reads but I like the author so I gave it a try, very different from most vampire reads,. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Next up Nightwalker (Sunwalker Trilogy Book 2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This is a great book for anyone who likes vampire stories. I liked her different take on how vampires were created; I'd never come across that before. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger with lots of possibilities open and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I tried. I really tried but I just couldn't get into this book. It just never grabbed my attention. Halfway through I sadly, just gave up. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Bare in mind, this is only my opinion. All though I can't recommend it, you may find it very entertaining and enjoyable. So please make up your own mind if you'd like to give it a shot.
Enjoyed this book! Romance, different worlds come together, and the broken start to heal.. Must read if you like vampires or supernaturals! You can almost see that sort of thing happening in the real world.
Engaging. Different from all other vampire books I’ve read. Beware, leaves you wanting more. Fast paced, highly recommend. Loved it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.
Lily was born a Vampire. Forced to hide her secret from the Human population for nearly eighteen years, her world is turned upside-down when she meets Tread, another naturally-born Sunwalker with the ability to move about during the day.
Just as Lily starts to develop feelings for Tread, he reveals a shocking secret of his own.
Wanted for treason, Lily’s family and childhood friend Lex are forced to flee the protection of the city and go on the run with just Tread to protect them in the bloodsucker infested wasteland beyond the wall.
Great characters, interesting relationships and a fast moving plot make this a great read for any age.
