“BATTLE IN THE BATCAVE!” The battle with Kid Amazo leaves Jon and Damian’s friendship in ruins as the boys decide their partnership isn’t working out! It’s a rumble between Superboy and Robin like you’ve never seen as the boys rage through the house Batman built!

This continues to be my favorite series this year!
Damian and Jon are my favorite dynamic duo even though they fight each other pretty much every single issue. This issue is kind of a bottle episode type thing where Jon, upset over his father's plan to move to Metropolis, sneaks into the Batcave to see Damian. Not sure if he intended to distract himself or actually talk things out with Damian but he shows up and they fight because Damian wants to make sure Jon knows they're not friends.
One of the most interesting things about their relationship is that it makes me wonder what Bruce and Clark would have been like had they met when they were much younger. I loved reading the issues about their first days together where Batsy didn't trust Supes and Clark wasn't a fan of Bruce. Damian is bossy and an egotistical little jerk and Jon is stubborn and pretty quick to anger. At first glance, I'd say they're quite different from their parents except they're really not. Bruce and Clark have some of the same flaws; they're just less obvious because they're more mature now.
Anyway, I'm excited to see where they go next! This was a great little issue for setting up Jon and Damian finally burying the hatchet and working as a team. I love my boys!
My favorite moments: Damian: How would you like it if I followed you everywhere and listened in on your conversations! Bruce: You do.
Clark: Who do you think would win if we fought? Bruce: Me. Clark: But I'm stronger. And I can fly. Bruce: Um, me. Clark: I think you're cowl's too tight.
No villains - more of an internal struggle between Jon and Damian but the issue was still cute AF! Jon isn't coping with the new move to Metropolis and tries to haphazardly get advice from Damian. Argument and punching ensues. It's not much different to what has happened already actually but I'm hoping the talking they get from their dads will make them work together more fluently than this annoying ragequit that keeps coming up between them.
A pretty simple story and follow up to the punishment the two Super Sons got for breaking curfew and rules . It was a nice pleasing filler story and possibly the founding of the new team for the duo .
A bit of a breather chapter. Cool double spreads, but nothing more exciting. But sometimes you do need these slightly slower chapters to accentuate the character arcs.
Jon and Damian are both grounded by their fathers and it's quite entertaining to see how different their forms of punishment are because of their vastly different life styles. Jon isn't allowed to use his powers to do chores while Damian can't go out on patrol with Batman. Jon is told by his parents that they'll be moving to Metropolis and he doesn't take the news well. I don't blame the kid for not taking the news well. He's a 10 year old boy who Clark and Lois are trying to raise in a normal environment when he doesn't feel like he fits in anywhere. The only time he feels like he belongs is when he's allowed to use his powers. However, he is being punished for doing just that and now feels like his world is being flipped upside down. He ends up bumping into Damian and going to the Batcave. Of course they begin to argue and actually physically fight. I like the parallels that are drawn between their soon to be friendship and the relationship between. Alfred finds them first and is able to calm them down. Then, both Batman and Superman eventually find them and explain these parallels to them. Batman and Superman have an entertaining and light hearted back and forth banter, which I really liked. Jon is able to reconcile with Clark about the move to Metropolis so this was a nice happy ending this issue. I'm looking forward to the rest of this run.
This is my favourite issue so far. Rather than focus on action, this issue was just the bridge between the Kid Amazo arc and the next one, with Jon and Damian maybe perhaps getting over their frustration at each other and becoming a proper crime fighting duo. I think it's a good sign that Jon went to Damian straight away for advice about moving to Metropolis, even if Damian is really bad at giving said advice.
One of my favourite panels was when Bruce and Clark turned up, and Bruce called Damian out for eavesdropping on his private conversations; Bruce going 'Um, me' to Clark was also hilarious, as well as that entire mini argument they had. I loved how this focused on the parallels between Batman and Superman with their kids, although I hope Jon and Damian don't get over the bickering, because it kind of adds a unique layer to their dynamic. Just less of them completely giving up and refusing to make up after said bickering.
I also loved how big a part Alfred has been playing in this series so far. He's like everyone's exasperated granddad.
