Despite me liking this cute bunny shifter book I'm still stunned this book is $5 for only 108 pages. I really wanted to read it so I bought it anyway, but I'm not sure it was worth it in the end. Cute: definitely, mind-blowing: definitely not. I don't really get authors who let readers pay this amount for such short novellas.

But okay, on to the story.

We meet Peter while he is hippity-hopping around as a bunny, eating his neighbors flowers, when he is suddenly chased by werewolves. He is only able to get away by squeezing himself through a hole in someone's basement. But his luck runs out when he is found by the owner and put in a box.

When Luke enters the town's diner, he sees the cutest bunny sitting in a box on the counter. After some persuading from the diner's owner he ends up taking the cute bunny home with him.

After some amazing cuddling time Peter knows he has to come clean to Luke, the brother of his best friend, who he's had a crush on for ages, but he doesn't think that will go well.

When the werewolves come for Peter again, he has no choice but to shift to his human form to tell Luke these are not ordinary wolves....

I really liked how big protective Luke was trying to care for the cute Peter. Peter was simply adorable and Luke was such an alpha male, it was delicious.

What I didn't like was the brother, Benji. It's not that I didn't like him, more that I was having a hard time with his feelings towards Peter. I really hope he gets his own book with his own love interest.

There is the mention of mpreg in this one, but no real mpreg yet..

A really cute bunny shifter book with a tiny bit of angst. Not a lot of background though, but since it's only 108 pages that was to be expected.

Cute bunny shifter story

This was pretty dang adorable. Always love a good bunny shifter story. Wish there was actually mpreg though. That would have made it even better.

It's really cute.

I liked the novelty of a bunny shifter but started to loose interest once his identity was revealed. It's all fantasising, burgeoning cocks from there and the switching equally lovelorn povs was too much for me.

Also bunny-shifter = MPREG - don't know how much impact that has on the later story.
Which while I've read some good fanfics with it, generally it isn't a story device I get. To me there was no reason for Peter not to be a girl bunny, wasn't clear why a male bunny had more appeal.

Not for me, I quit halfway, but I do think lots will enjoy it.

GAH! This novella was ADORABLE!

Cute bunny shifter named Peter, (of all things), and OMG he's just adorable in the beginning. Werewolves are after him, so he hides as a bunny with Luke, the human who he has a major crush on. Of course, Luke finds out, demands to know what's going, and is determined to help Peter.

I just can't. It was super cute, and I'm begging for more because although there isn't actual mpreg in this, it's definitely discussed and definitely gonna happen between them. I'm wondering if the next book will still be about Peter and Luke or new characters, like Benji.

This book was a surprise and also if short, made me smile and sigh like a teenage in love.
I loved both the MCs and I can't wait to read the other books in the series, or more books from this author. I'm pretty sure that the next book will be about Luke's little brother Benji and the Alpha werewolf of Chicago,Mikhail Graves.

We don't know much about Peter's past or his parents, but the author tells us that he arrived in town when he was only 8 years old. He was running in the woods, when someone found him. From that moment he was part of the town. Soon after he met Benji and then his older brother Luke. From the first time he met the older boy he was in love, but he became aware of that, when he saw an almost naked 21 years old Luke, come out of the bathroom after a shower. Peter was only 12, and now with a crush of a mountain that will never leave him.
During the years, this crush only became worst.
Everytime he meets Luke he can't say more than 5 words to the man, thanks to his shyness.

The book starts with our cute and fluffy,23 years old Peter, in his bunny form(damn I wanted to pat him so bad), eating the flowers he likes most and enjoying his free time, rolling around in the grass. All is good until he smells wolves and hears their growls. The thing is that the wolves in this book are really bad guys. They want Peter only for one thing, to breed him, bcs yes, male bunnies, can get pregnant and have more kids that any other shifter species. If they catch him, they will rape him, and since Bunnies mate when they have sex for the first time, Peter will be mated with the first wolf that will take him, and he doesn't want it, bcs the only man he wants is Luke, also if the other man, he is sure, doesn't feel the same.

He is SO WRONG.
Luke, is 32 and sexy as hell. He cares about Peter in a way no normal friend should do, the idea of someone else touching the younger man, makes him wanna puke, and if he was sincere with himself he would admit that he feels something more than friendship for his brother best friend. But that's the problem, the sweet bunny is his brother friend and he is pretty sure Benji isn't as straight as he always professed and loves Peter. So during the years Luke could only watch Peter grow-up and become beautiful and smarter, but never act on his feelings. At least not until he finds out that Peter is a bunny shifter, a virgin, and what the wolves want to do to him.
Peter was really brave, something we would not have expected from a bunny shifter.
When the wolves come to Luke's house, he is ready to give himself up to them, to save the man he loves. Luckily this doesnt happen and Luke is the only man in Peter's life. (loved Luke's jealousy)
I was so happy to see them become a couple and finally seal the deal (*wink* *wink*), that was hot.
The only thing I missed in this book was an epilogue with our guys maybe some years later......bcs....I WANTED TO SEE THEIR KIDS!!!!!
Imagine tons of little cute bunnies with blue eyes... awwwwwwwwwww.

There was one thing that annoyed me, the fact that Benji didn't want to see his brother and Peter together, I can understand the fact that he loves Peter, but why u never told him anything? and if u love him so much(also if u don't admit it, we can see it), shouldn't u want to see him happy?. Benji knew since they were kids that Peter was in love with his older brother and he should have been a better friend.

To make this shorter. The book was nice, the writing good, I could feel the charaters emotions in every word they said, and I can't wait to see more of them. Maybe with more explanations about the other shifters and the supernatural world.

The first few pages just about killed me with cuteness. This was what I was looking for when I went in search for a smol shifter story.
I loved the chapters of Peter as a rabbit and I would've happily read more of them instead of the actual plot lol. The plot wasn't bad by all means, but not very interesting imo as it could've been solved with less death (yes, actual death) by having a simple conversation.

My enjoyment of the first chapters featuring floofy, chubby bunny eating cinnamon rolls was immense but the later parts were meh for me. I checked the later installments for interesting pairings but I didn't find one about Mikhail :( Mikhail book when??

I’ll admit, I had to read a shifter book that wasn’t about a predator: wolves, coyotes, lynx, cats, bears, cougars, you’ve probably read as many as I have. But, seriously…a BUNNY shifter! Not a wererabbit, as Peter is very quick to point out. How cool is that!!

This was a fun read. It starts off with Peter eating daisies and worrying about his hips, that worry becomes a true fear when he realizes the werewolves are in town and are looking for him. A whiskers escape leaves him stranded in a basement, where much to his indignation, he make his way to Luke’s care and house. Peter’s been friends with Luke’s brother for years, but the quiet flame he’s been harboring for Luke is about to become so much more.

Peter as a rabbit is a hoot. Some of the rabbit’s personality comes through in the man, his shyness, nervousness, skittishness, and, yes, a rabbit’s defensiveness. Rabbits can be quite vicious – and Peter, when provoked by the wolves, stepped up to the plate to defend what was his.

I also thought this was one of the better discussions of shifters and male pregnancy. I’m still not a fan of m-preg trope, but I thought the author handled it quite adroitly in the context of the storyline and character development. For those of you who are in the same camp as I, rest assured, there is only discussion. I won’t say more, otherwise I’ll start to get into spoiler land.

My one other complaint with the story was a scene where Peter was crawling into Luke’s lap to have bunny snuggles as a full grown man. Unfortunately, this came across overly girly and felt a bit out of place with the character building that had come previously. I’m not sure what the fascination is with sitting in a lap, but *most* guys will tell you it’s not very comfortable having a full grown person squishing their bits and pieces. Just sayin…

My quirks aside, I was delighted with the story. We have a bunny, big bad wolves, a tich of romantic angst to balance out the sweetness. I thought the m-preg was well presented and explained (a rarity), and I loved the humor, emotions, and longing interwoven throughout.

I’m all for reading books that have a unique twist on them. So when I learned this book was about shape-shifting bunnies… that are gay. Yeah, I was on board. The first half of the book was exactly what I hoped it would be. A timid little bunny who is in love with his best friend’s brother. Oh, and he’s being hunted by werewolves. I mean, this stuff just writes itself. Add in the classic names, Peter, Benjamin, even a gardener named Mrs. Gregor.

Then… it was revealed that male bunnies can get pregnant. Yeah, this plays into a whole new plot twist, which I will not divulge. But, to me, I was thrown out of the book. And I couldn’t get over the fact that the author could have just made the bunny a girl and then there would be no need for this weird extra layer of fantasy. Sometimes for a plot to work out, the gender of the characters is important. I played this novel out in my head with Peter being a girl, and it played out the exact same.

My personal bias with the gender and pregnancy business aside, this novel is as people say. Cute and adorable. It’s a quick, easy, read, but is very well written. The ending was a bit rushed, and the story could have gone on for a bit longer, but meh, it worked. I’ll def read the next one, if for nothing else than to read about how this male pregnancy works. Maybe the next book will make me realize why Peter needed to be a man.

Well, I was looking for a cute (and relatively non-angsty) story, and this was definitely one! It's very cute, almost too cute at some points. There is a wee bit of angst thrown in, but basically it's adorable. It's also pretty short - I really wish that the story had been developed a bit more, especially since . And I would like to learn more about the werewolves and their hierarchy in the shifter world. But if you're looking for something short, sweet, and adorable, I'd recommend this one.

A cute read. I wish there had been more on shifter dynamics (the bunnies, the wolves, and other creatures). The author made a nice intro to her world of shifters. They were unique and I really was curious about what made each shifter special . I'm looking forward to reading the next installment and seeing what direction the author takes.

A.R. Barley is a new to me author, but I took a chance on this book considering it had some of my favorite things. A non-traditional shifter, in love with the best friend’s brother trope, and mating. While there were definitely places where the story could have been improved, it was a fun little romp.

I really liked that both Peter and Luke had feelings for one another, though they both had things standing in their way. For Peter, he thought Luke, who is gorgeous and eight years older than him, could never want a chubby younger man. Especially not with the big secret of his shifting abilities between them. Luke, for his part, thought he was too old for Peter, and more importantly, that Peter was in love with his brother. These guys were adorable in their longing for one another and I was rooting for them to get together. The characters weren’t overly developed, and I felt I was missing a little bit as to their feelings and emotions, but they each had something about them that made me like them. And they worked together, though the chemistry could have used a bit more spark.

The story itself is pretty straight forward. The wolves want Peter for one very good reason, though I won’t tell you what it is, and they are going to stop at nothing to get him. Luke sees the threat to the man he cares about and will do everything in his power to protect Peter. And Peter finds a little backbone and is willing to do whatever he has to in order to keep Luke safe. A little craziness ensues, and it ends with an HEA. I wasn’t expecting for this story to be ground breaking. But I would have liked a little more development. Things move a very fast pace and each plot point isn’t given enough time to grow. I think if there had been a little less going on, then perhaps I would have enjoyed it a little more as things would have been drawn out and more fully explained. I think the face pace was also a bit of a detriment. As much as I enjoyed the misunderstandings and conflicts not being drawn out for far too long, had they been given a little more time, I would have been more invested in the story.

It’s cute, fluffy, and about a bunny who falls in love with a hipster. If that one sentence doesn’t sell you on this book, nothing I say will sway you.

Peter (What else?) is the bunny shifter and I loved the way the bunny personality dialed way up when he’s in bunny form and was more muted, but still there, in his human form. I also appreciated the fact that Peter wasn’t a skinny twink. Luke, on the other hand, is a gun-toting, wilderness store-owning, alpha-male human who seems a little lonely and vulnerable when he cuddles with the “pet” bunny he brought home. It was endearing. Secondary characters were generally good, even if Luke’s brother and Peter’s BFF, Benji, came off a little “Danger Mouse”, flipping between snuggling with Peter on the sofa and being this wolf-hunting super-soldier dude. Benji definitely has his own secrets to tell.

The plot follows the best friend’s sibling trope without a lot of surprises. This isn’t a bad thing since there is plenty of other stuff going on to keep the story moving. Chasing His Cottontail is also laugh-out-loud funny at times, which is always a bonus.

My only major criticism of the book is the incomplete world building. I never felt like I understood how the shifter world worked or how the different groups related to one another especially when it came to the wolves. The same is true for how Mpreg and mating worked. Some of that stems from Peter not knowing, but it felt like the author didn’t know either. If you’re not an Mpreg fan, you should be okay with this story. The Mpreg is more theoretical than actual. It will probably play out in later books, but not here.

The cover definitely stands out among the normally bombastic covers of shifter books. The softness of the color palette and typography fits the story well. My only niggle is that Luke’s beard is a little too strong, but that’s not enough to keep me from loving it.

Shy little bunny

A really sweet story in a new world of shifters!

Peter (yes Peter) is a rabbit shifter. He lives in the small town of New Hope and is hopelessly in love with his best friend's brother, Luke, but far too shy to make a move. When werewolves come sniffing around town Peter needs to run or hide. When he ends up in rabbit form getting caught by Luke and taken home as a pet it seems perfect. Until the werewolves come sniffing around Luke's door and he needs to protect the man he loves.
Luke is eleven years older than Peter, not that it matters, since he is certain Peter is afraid of him. A hunter and a wilderness store owner, he is a bit rough on the outside. Peter can never do anything more than stammer and hide around Luke. But his bunny Cottontail takes to Luke amazingly. When wolves come around everything changes.
Peter is a wonderfully sweet character. He likes his small town life and just wishes he could make a move on Luke. He says that he isn't brave but so many of the actions he takes really are. He is a little self conscious of his weight but otherwise confident in who he is. Watching him work through the situation with Luke and the werewolves really lets him show just how brave he is and it was a great story.
Luke is a very kind character. He has held back from Peter because he is sure his younger brother Benji, Peter's best friend, has a crush on the man. He takes finding out about the supernatural tremendously in stride and works hard to help out despite knowing little. The two paired together well.
With the introduction of werewolves and the mention of other shifters, an entire world is opened up in this book. There is some fascinating story potential brewing with the wolves and Benji and I really hope this will be the opener for a new series!

This was cute!!

We are introduced to Peter, the chubby, fluffly and cuteness overload wererabbit -rs-. He's in love with very much human, but a bit of a bear, Luke. They have know each other for years and .

The beginning was good. We get to know about their lives and etc. But after the werewolves appear all became so rushed. Everything happened in a flash and it kind of killed the magic a little for me. Maybe it was my fault because I didn't noticied it have just 100 pages but I was expecting more.

More cute "you still don't know I like you" moments, more "get to know you as a lover", etc. I want more cute moments as a couple! I not only didn't receive those moments instead I got miscommunication(Is this phrase right?). Everything in this book falls to miscommunication. They can't say shit to eat other and it was so irritating.

The decisive scene was very anticlimatic as well. Everything happened so fast I had to read again to see if I didn't miss anything, but no it's just fast.

Overall: Its a cute read, but don't get as excited as I was because it'll be kind of disappointing.

As many others have said, this is just adorable. Peter's moments as a cute, fluffy bunny and the funny moments that come along then (Luke and bunny rabbit Peter watching The Fast and the Furious on the couch) are just priceless. There's also the sweetness of Peter as a blushing virgin with a deep, abiding crush on the handsome, older, bear Luke. I appreciated that the story didn't set up Peter as a stereotypical little waif-like hottie twink to contrast with Luke's bear-like physique and persona . Instead Peter's a plump, tongue-tied geek--who Luke thinks is sexy and special. There's some testosterone thrown around with Luke defending him against the werewolves, showcasing his manly and protective qualities. Add in some spicy and sweet sexytimes and you have a very light, fluffy romance. This little novella is perfect for a pick me up on bad day or for when you just want something comforting and happy. I look forward to seeing the next in the series! I hope that there's love out there for Peter's friend Benjie too.

With the title and series name being what they are, I knew I was in for a cute read and I wasn't disappointed. This was adorable and sweet, and I love how the author was able to throw in well-rounded characters, mild angst, and some shifter background in a story that was only about 30K words.

A.R. Barley is a new-to-me author, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the story and how the author managed to give you just enough on secondary characters to leave you wondering about them. Luke and Peter were great together even though they suck at communicating, which is where the mild angst stems from.

I did think it ended a bit too abruptly, but seeing as this book is the first in a series, I'm happy to wait until the next one to get my answers.

This story is going on my keeper shelf!

I had this book on my wish list for some time. Luckily a friend lent me her copy and I was able to read it sooner than I anticipated. I really enjoy books about bunny shifters. Did I enjoy this particular story enough to buy my own copy? Not really.

I can't really put my finger on why I didn't like the book more. It was a cute story. I loved all of the characters. Peter especially was adorable. I just didn't think that it was anything special. I found myself getting frustrated with both Luke and Peter a couple of times throughout the story. I thought they danced around each other way past the point where I thought they should have.

All in all, it was a cute story. If you like shifter stories, bunny shifters in particular, I don't think you would go wrong giving this book a try. I will definitely be on the lookout for another installment of this series.

Chasing His Cottontail was a fun read for me. I really enjoyed being inside of Peter's head while he was in his bunny form. The inner dialogue was well written and very humorous. As a reader I could feel the chemistry between Peter & Luke. What was kind of awkward for me was the introduction of Benji as a possible love interest. I felt that Peter & Benji had been so close for so many years that it seemed strange that it had never been addressed between them before. With that said I would still read the next book in the series and look forward to reading more about the alpha wolf, Mikhail. A.R. Barley was a new to me author who was kind enough to gift me with an ARC of her story.

So this book was short and sweet. It was very charismatic, and i found it absolutely adorable! This book features a m/m romance where one of them is a bunny shifter! It was totally adorable to hear the thoughts of Peter in bunny form. This book is exactly what the author wanted it to be short, sweet and in her words in the book "cute as fu**". I vastly enjoyed her writing and loved her new thoughts geared towards writing this type of novel! Thank you for letting me review this and 5 stars!

Peter, the bunny in this book, is in love with his very human best friend's older brother. He loves the town he's in but when werewolves start chasing him he thinks twice on staying there. Luke is the best friends older brother a manly man with a love of plaid. Will he be enough or even want to stop the threat to Peter? This short and sweet novella is a quick read with an adorable bunny shifter that in both forms you will love.

A sweet little romance about a cute bunny shifter. I liked that there are no fated mates, insta love and all the usual shifter tropes.

The shifters were more like their animal form even while human which added a bit of humor and tension not usually seen in shifter stories.

I can't really give it more than 3 stars because while I did enjoy it and will continue the series it's simply a sweet little romance story that is great for a break from reality it didn't consume my attention.

Not long ago on one of my reading groups someone asked about bunny shifter stories and then I found one. This was so damn cute and sweet. It definitely starts off ala Peter rabbit down to being chased out of a garden. No one was super hot or cute, our Peter is fluffy in every sense of the word and Luke is a bear. But they are so adorable together I can’t help but love it. The werewolves chasing down a bunny isn’t quite what you think. The author makes it so there’s a lot of room for other books in the series.

This book had my attention from the title alone! I'm slowly (think cold molasses here) reading shifter books but I'm very particular about them. Wolves are not really my thing but bunnies?? O yeah! So CUTE. Anyways, a good story that also had a side story. The main story was finished for me but the other plot had a cliffhanger, so you decide if you want to read the entire trilogy. I'm done! Recommended.

I started reading this because I had read other books by this author and really liked them, but I would have liked a warning about the Mpreg. Why do so many shifter stories do this nonsense? It just weirds me out so much why people like this stuff.

Oh my gosh this book was impossibly cute and sweet and I loved every second, ESPECIALLY every second Peter was a bunny. And I love how it's always "bunny" not "rabbit". I would read a dozen books like this. I might need a lot of insulin afterwards, but it would be worth it!

What a cute bunnies shifter book. Luke and Peter love each other but neither is aware of the other feelings. And then there's Benji.
