Microsubs—microscopic subcutaneous drones—cure everything between colds and cancer, broken bones and shattered skulls. But Dr. Evans' choice to pilot the untested technology could cost him his family and his freedom.
Author of books, destroyer of worlds. Writing isn't so much a job as a compulsion. Billy Blacksmith: The Demonslayer won the Gold Quill for YA Novel of the Year 2017, presented by the League of Utah Writers.
In this very clever, Matrix-y future, a young doctor is secretly helping cure patients using microsub technology banned by the government. The brief glimpse into this doctor's personal life shows a complicated relationship with his distant father, who is politically against all the good this doctor is trying to do. You get a taste of a future that doesn't feel very far away. It explores how deep blood will go for blood.
This story is very cool. And the cover! It's the coolest! It's one line! I can't believe it! I give it four stars because it's short. I want more of this world. The description is deep and evoking, I could smell the rich cigar smoke. I wanted more of that. Bring me more.
