One night ruined our friendship, ten years down the drain. We had been everything for each other. Elijah was my rock, my brick. He had been there through my parents’ divorce, my many breakups, and we had started a magazine out of my garage together. We built that baby from the ground up.
Then I got an email that would change my life; 10,000 flier miles, the world at my fingertips…
You know when you wish you could remember what you did wrong, but it just won't come to you? That was my life these days. My best friend, Rochelle, was gone. Alicia, my wife, was always working, the only bright light these days was my nephew Mikey. Until the mysterious postcards started arriving from Paris one day. I knew they were from her.
Ah, Oui. I carry her secret, and my own. I love to cook, I love her, and her past makes me wish I wasn't a non-violent man. I have loved her from the moment she set foot in the cafe, she is Mon Amour.
Rebekah Dodson is a prolific word weaver of romance, fantasy, and science fiction novels. Her works include the series Postcards from Paris, The Surrogate, The Curse of Lanval series, several stand alone novels, and her upcoming YA novel, Clock City. She has been writing her whole life, with her first published work of historical fiction with 4H Clubs of America at the age of 12, and poetry at the age of 16 with the National Poetry Society. With an extensive academic background including education, history, psychology and English, she currently works as a college professor by day and a writer by night.
The story: Rochelle seemingly has it all. She's a successful owner of her own magazine. People respect her. She has the kind of friendship most people would die for. The problem? She's been in love with said friend for as long as she's known him. She doesn't think he feels the same way of course. So when he gets engaged, she decides to do something for herself and moves to Paris, cutting off all communication with him except a few postcards. As his life falls apart, hers is put back together. But when she left, she took a secret with her. One that could break her once again.
What I loved: Rochelle gets stronger throughout the book and it's a lot of fun to watch. The writing flows seamlessly and I couldn't tear my eyes away. Tension builds with each page as we get closer and closer to the point where all the secrets will be forced out. It's written brilliantly. I both felt for and kind of hated Elijah. It left me conflicted and begging for more. In the end, my heart broke for him, even after everything he'd done.
What was just okay: So much in life can be solved with a little honesty. It seemed entirely unbelievable that Elijah would get married when he had other feelings and when his fiance was making such crazy demands on him. There were a few convenient devices used, but I understand each was for a reason. Each was getting them to where the story needed to go. There's also a huge emphasis put on Rochelle's weight. As in - people like her in spite of it. It's mentioned rather frequently and I walked away thinking it was telling me that overweight people weren't equal. I do understand though that we were in Rochelle's head so we were seeing it with the tint of her issues.
Final Verdict: A romance that will keep you flipping pages rapidly and leave you wanting so much more. Both thrilling and heartbreaking, all you'll want is for Rochelle to find happiness.
So I fell in love with the title first. I mean who doesn't want to either send or receive Postcards From Paris. But then the story fairly quickly grabbed me in further and I was hooked and having a hard time breaking away from my Kindle. This is a really intense story with a lot of emotion, both good and bad, from start to finish. Rochelle and Elijah are an interesting mix with a complicated relationship. All it took was one night to ruin a life long friendship, where they both really loved each other but would not take that chance to admit it to the other, and bring so much heartache and future ramifications that we do not even know about yet. Postcards From Paris is a great first book in the three book series. I look forward to reading the next books to see what happens with Rochelle, Elijah, Marceau and Elise.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I wanted to enjoy this book but honestly, I am unsure how I feel after finishing. This was a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish and the ending was very unexpected and not what I would want for the characters after so much betrayal and heartbreak. There were good points scattered throughout the story but overall, I felt there was just TOO much turmoil. Does anyone actually make such poor decisions on such a repeating and consistent basis? I struggled with that a lot. Overall, I think you could and should read it, but don't expect a HEA or full resolution. Hopefully readers can have a little more sunshine in book 2.

To be honest, even though I started off rooting for Rochelle and Elijah since he seemed to be her protecter, before long I was against the two of them getting together. Between his waffling between Alicia and Rochelle and how quickly he seemed to drop Rochelle after all these years of friendship, I felt like she was destined to keep chasing guys who mistreats her, even if it's now emotional vs. physical.
However, by the end, I felt like she came into her own. Making her own choices, choosing what is best for her, vs. what is best for everyone else. It was not what I expected, but in a good way.

Wow… I’m a little speechless on this one. Having read the blurb, I was expecting a bit of unrequited love followed by a HEA. This was an unexpected read, and honestly, it was a looonnngggg read to get absolutely nowhere with a (hopefully) resolution in the next story. I wouldn’t even call it a HFN! This was a heartwrenching read of betrayal, twists and turns, unrequited love and secrets. Honestly, the premise was good, but this author seems to enjoy putting her characters through horrible situations and heartbreak. A tough read for me.

The beginning of this book got off to a slow start, but once it took off...oh boy!
The story was well written and detailed perfectly. Full of love, betrayal, and kept me guessing the entire way. The plot twist kept things intetesting and made it hard to put down this book.
It was really hard to choose a side between Rochelle and Elijah. I kinda wanted them to get back together, but at other times wanted Rocehelle to move on. But, I was happy with the ways things progressed in the end
You'll find yourself torn between rooting for Elijah or rooting for Rochelle. Well written with love, romance, and betrayal. The author also does a great job keeping you guessing what will happen in the story line. All in all a good story line, well developed characters, and good chemistry between the characters.

Postcards From Paris is the continuation of Room 331 and Rochelle and Elijah's story. This is one of those books that had me rooting for Rochelle and Elijah to get together yet at the same time I so wanted her to move on with her life. I like how the author put some twists and turns in the story making it hard to decide which direction the characters will go. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. “Postcards from Paris” is another really enjoyable book from Rebekah Dodson and I didn’t want to put it down. This is an interesting book and has a great, entertaining storyline and really well written, engaging characters. Their super chemistry and interaction made their story interesting and engrossing. This is a really good, must read book from this author and I really enjoyed reading it

I was a little sad with the ending but also glad. This is a great story with many twists and turns. The path isn't always straight but love always wins. The characters had a lot in common and that added to the story. I wish there was a second book because I would love to read more about how things go in the future. I recommend this book to all who love a good story.
This rollercoaster of a story grabbed my interest and held on for dear life. I squirmed and squealed as each page took off in another direction. Rebekah Dodson masterfully crafted this story, with each twist so real that I'm convinced it all really happened. It felt like I experienced everything myself. I highly recommend this book and I will be reading more Rebekah Dodson books very soon.
I read this story after room 331 the prequel or book 0, so I was kind of confused because some of the things, the book said here, don't match the prequel. I kind of have a love hate with this book ( in a way that means it was really good) I couldn't put it down and I read it in one night. I still conflicted about the end and the choices of the characters.
‘Sometimes the heart is blind’ A gut-wrenching tale of secrets, love lost, love gained, and all sorts of other heartaches.
May we all find beauty in the chaos that is our lives.
Really looking forward to more dreams-come-true in ‘Heart and Soul’ (interlude novella), ‘Postcards from America’, ‘Postcards from Moscow’, and ‘Postcards from Montreal’.
Have a tissue handy for the two days (or an extremely long one) you allow for this contemporary adult best-friend epistolary adventure romance using postcards from Paris and emails involving betrayal and pregnancy.

This is book one in a series, should be read in order to better enjoy, but can be read as standalones. This is Rochelle and Elijah’s story, the read was a little scattered, but hoping book two will clarify a little.

I've never been to Paris, but with Dodson's writing and likeable FMC I got a glimpse. It was an enjoyable journey and it felt comfortable, like I was with an old friend. It was a trip with some humor and soul searching along the way. I can't wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for her next book!.

This is my first in this series, obviously. But I actually really liked this. The characters were wonderful. And it was so well written. It really pulls you in and keeps you intrigued. This held a wonderful depth and the pacing was prefect. I’m really looking forward to reading more into this series.
The entire time I was routing for both Rochelle and Elijah, even if it meant them not together, or hae. Rebekah keeps you on your seat edge the entire time and I loved it. Will be continuing this series and books linked to it.
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and steamy passion and you have a good read.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
The premise of this book is why I chose to read it. I thought it was intriguing and wondered who this mystery person was - a lover, a friend, a confidant? The author gave us an interesting story and I really liked how it played out. A good story.
I wasn't expecting this to come about 10 years later. Wow, this was quite a story that kept me glued to the story. I am glad Rochelle and Elijah finally found each other. A great story.

This is a romance ten years in the making. As the secrets are revealed, will love grow or be destroyed? I enjoyed this story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
This book seemed right up my alley when i saw it on book sprout! I first read Room 331 to make sure i had the full picture and then moved on to Postcards from Paris. The story was great, full of drama, lies, love, and tragedy. All of the elements were there. However the reason I am giving this book 3.5 stars instead of 4 or 5 is due to the amount of spelling errors and typos. It was very distracting while i was trying to enjoy my read. And some of the story in room 331 didn't quite match up with this book.
